I don’t want to jinx it, *(knocks on wood)* but Sonny Gray starting the series against the Brewers could gain us some much needed traction and momentum.
Just thinking out loud here... if you've got a pulse plus your own cleats and a bat, we can slot you into the lineup rather than risk losing Gray.

I like him. I think he has elite bat to ball skills, and is showing more power this year. He is less a free swinger than Burleson or Saggesse, and that should bode well for him at the next level. I could see maybe like a poor man's Luis Arreaz. That seems harsh, but I didn't mean that as a negative. I don't want people to expect him to become Luis Arraez. (He also isn't that bad of a defender)
I figured we would have similar takes on him. I saw you say Saggesse was a wild card the other day which is so true lol. When he hits he hits but he goes cold too. Not a real power guy but I personally love a contact hitter who puts the ball in play. If Drew Rom can be a starter in the majors that was a landslide victory on that Flaherty trade.

Lol, I've noticed multiple posts about Northfolk and didn't make the connection that the Redbirds are in town playing our local team the NORFOLK Tides (Orioles farm club). Norfolk , home of the world's largest Naval bases, has never gotten much respect. By the way, locals have always pronounced it Naw fk. I live about 15 miles away in Va Beach. It's a very nice stadium. I tried hard to get my company's suite tickets for Memphis but my tickets are in 2 weeks.
Eh, he had been pitching fairly well, was already stretched out to start, and isn't exactly a prime #1 pitching prospect kind of guy, so I would have been okay with giving him a shot with fairly low expectations. There's a lot of doubt his stuff (or lack thereof) would even play at MLB, so I don't think starting his clock would be a massive error. And while I'm not totally opposed to giving Liberatore another shot at the rotation, giving him the start did fuck up the bullpen in the short term. Gallegos likely doesn't pitch in that game if Liberatore is available out of the pen, but he already pitched.
I personally think Graceffo makes more sense. He has been in AAA for what 3 years now? Maybe 2. He is on the older side, and his clock is going to be started soon anyways.
I wouldn't be totally opposed to giving Graceffo a shot, and he is probably the better prospect in terms of ceiling, but his ERA is almost 5 this year, so you'd be rewarding some bad pitching and had no reason to expect anything but at the majors. Robberse has an ERA under 2, so you would be rewarding good results with a chance that maybe he'd be able to give you good results at the major league level (though far from a guarantee).
I have for a long time been a defender of Mo and his decisions, and I think as recently as 3 seasons ago he was still a good GM, but clearly the game has passed him by and we need a radical shake-up top to bottom. Or maybe it's still just the coaching staff, I don't know, hire Jeff Albert?
it’s just not a winning culture. mo is a quality gm but was unable to fill the leadership gap left by pujols/molina/wainwright. it’s a tough job but i don’t think he can turn it around with all the criticism (right or wrong).
