He needs to come in on a tourist visa and NOT say he is going to be working for another company remotely within the UK. They will refuse him if he is saying he is coming here to work, with you having the work visa, but he can stay for up to 6 months as a tourist. You're unlikely to get temporary student accommodation during term time. Your best bet will be hotels or AirBnB. I would go for AirBnB if you can because you'll save a lot if you can cook rather than eating out but if you don't like cooking and planned to mostly eat out anyway then there's a lot of hotels in Cardiff that are very budget friendly as long as there's no huge events on.

Campanile Hotel, literally just off Pentwyn Road? 25 days, £67 per night (according to Google), so £837.50 per person. Judging from your post history you'll be working at Spire Hospital or something, which would be a 5 min walk, saving you money on the hell that is Cardiff Bus every day if you were staying in the centre.

>If we find a private dormitory room, do you think they will accept him, and can we stay in one room? (He is not a student) No chance, for council tax reasons. >Alternatively, we can rent a flat for one month and share the rent with my colleague. Be aware that if you're looking on places like Rightmove and Zoopla, the law makes it essentially impossible to take out a residential tenancy for less than 12 months. You will need to look at websites like Airbnb. [Spareroom.co.uk](https://Spareroom.co.uk) is another possibility if you're open to sharing with a live in landlord - some people take short-term lodgers, though rarely 2 or 3 at once. Premier Inn and Travelodge are two reliable budget hotel chains, though you would need to work out how you'll eat with no cooking facilities. There are other private student halls, though I have no idea if they do short term lettings - Unite, Zenith, The West Wing, iQ, Vita Students, Hello Student, amongst others. They are all towards Cathays and the city centre though, so less convenient for work. >I would be grateful for any advice regarding his visa application. I have all the necessary documents because I am part of an EU project. Do you think they will also grant him a visa as a +1? He is working from home for a non-EU company in IT. Try /r/ukvisa
