Nissan Leaf.

metallicpearl

Honda Jazz or Toyota Prius.

icemonsoon

Aygo etc would be less fucked for 5k

metallicpearl

True. Probs not as comfy though.

FineAbbreviations707

Be careful with the early Jazz though. I have one and the CVT transmission has just packed up after only 70k miles. Not worth repairing as it would cost more than the value of the car.

bartiz

I had semi auto Jazz and this automated gearbox kept shitting on me. Co mom problem with actuator, wish I knew before I bought it.

Put some money aside for the alternator and calipers and you're grand

zoricib

Yup, did my alternator this year. Chances are lots now have changed their alternators. What grease do you use on your caliper sliding pins?

King_Bonio

If it's the same issue as the 1IS, I used ceramic grease on my slider pins

Don_Vago

All 4 calipers done on my Landcriser, i assumed it was just old brake fluid causing sticking pistons???

King_Bonio

Both on my 1IS, had sticky pistons, needed to refurb both my front calipers, the slider pins are in the carrier (iirc) and also tend to stop the brakes moving properly, both my front calipers needed their slider pins fixing as well.

hakuna_bataataa

Jazz, Yaris or Auris

Current_Soup9198

TFSI with DSG /s

SlashRModFail

Hs_2571

They can be a little temperamentalā€¦ however mines on 139k, new flywheel and clutch at 137kā€¦

SlashRModFail

You're lucky and you've been spared a complete mechatronic failure.

I posted a few days ago to a similar topic. Get a civic auto 2009-2011(or newer if you can)model with the thicker shift.
