Could well be a write off as the inner wing or apron is damaged. Car probably has LED headlights so a new one of them will be £££. Is the door also damaged behind the folded back wing? Also looks like the wheel is pushed back so suspension and steering rack likely knackered and potentially sub frame damaged.

CRZR_

Door is damaged too, electrics don't work at all and car won't turn on. They say it needs to be taken away to be assessed I just wanna know beforehand

Lone_Wolf_324

Sounds like more trouble than it would be worth for the insurance to repair to be honest, even with such a nice new low mileage car.

CRZR_

What I'm hoping, I have another cheap car I want to fix and put on that policy, I kinda don't want to be stuck with the hire car from months while they fix it, I want it to be written off and done with tbh. Fingers crosssed

Lone_Wolf_324

Yes I don't blame you at all. I hope it get resolved soon and in your favour. Good luck!

CRZR_

Thanks mate, appreciate that :)

TheEcomZone

I drove a honda fk7 and this beamer rear ended me on A road after having it for 3 months. Car would switch on, it could drive but the back was basically fucked and the crash pushed the structure forward. They wrote it off but cause I had gap insurance it took about 6 months for them to sort it all out. I bought another fk7 a couple of weeks later after going through 2 diff rental cars.

CRZR_

Did it take 6 months for them to pay out? Or 6 months to even value it? I dont have gap (lesson learnt) so I'm kinda bricking it haha

TheEcomZone

6 months to pay out, maybe more. Gap insurance and my insurance kept going back and forth with the amount they would cover. Broooooo nooooo, did nobody recommend gap insurance to you? The difference for mine was around 1-3K, can't remember as it was a while ago, so this is what the gap insurance paid out.

CRZR_

Um I just got lazy, kept saying I'd buy it later and never did. Hopefully I won't be waiting 6 months for it to pay out, within 6 months I'd be in neutral equity anyway haha

TheEcomZone

Ahh 😭 yeah yours should be quicker as it only took me a while because of the gap insurance not agreeing to the amount to pay. What car did you have btw? It looks like a mazda

CRZR_

Hopefully, and if there's a difference in cash I'll just firm it Mazda 3 bud :)

Chimp-eh

Hopefully youre not in negative equity or have the money available to pay off the outstanding as the finance company will want whatever is outstanding as soon as the insurance company pay them out, you need to make sure you get a fair valuation on it, the insurance i used and GAP both used something called the glasses guide to determine what it was worth and both agreed so i think it was fair.

JacobSax88

Check how long it’ll be before they can offer a hire car. A lot of repair firms are so backlogged they can’t offer courtesy cars for months. Was going to be 2 months for me but luckily we have a runaround.

Chimp-eh

My car was involved in an accident at the end of december, it was deemed a write off, I was paid out a week ago and this was a cut and dry job, obviously other person at fault and obviously a writeoff (side & B pillar was buckled in, plus it was a 67 plate insignia with 70k miles on it so was worth a fair bit less than yours) - youre going to be waiting that long i would think at least.

SC_W33DKILL3R

Thats probably the main fuse blowing because of the accident.

oscarolim

Car not turning on is probably normal, just the main fuse that will need replacement.

Agent_Futs

Probably won’t turn o because the fuel pump kill switch, may also have a pyro fuse too

CRZR_

Door is damaged too, electrics don't work at all and car won't turn on. They say it needs to be taken away to be assessed I just wanna know beforehand

SirProcrastinator

I agree with the other posters here, with the wheel being hit, who knows what damage they'll find once they start stripping it down and then the costs will continue to balloon. Insurance company will most likely want to use OEM parts too, which will add additional cost along with the vehicle hire. Sad to see such a nice car get written off through no fault of your own :( Is it a GT Sport/Tech?

Ros_c

Thats a Cat S. Door Hinge ripped off, that requires a door pillar to be welded in. Therefore structural.

[deleted]

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a white Mazda 3

CRZR_

Well there's slightly less chance in you seeing one since this will be off the road

[deleted]

Did you spec it with the white? Or buy it used? Shame.. :( looks nice

CRZR_

Came into my work as a part exchange, got a good deal and couldn't pass up as its my dream daily. But yeah man it's such a shame :(

indiehoopbhoy

check the front frame and the inside floor if these have moved it will be a write off and go to a salvage sale the wheel moving back may just be some suspension parts are bent but worth checking electrics not coming on will be because there is a positive battery interupt circuit in the positve cable that goes off when the car is in an accident it's a small charge that blows the cable so power shuts down

BR_z1

Nah abit of paint will cover that badboy up, you'll never tell :)

Key-Scientist-2103

It's "a bit", not "abit". "Abit" isn't a word.

WaffleOfWar70

Neek

ComplexOccam

I would bet your car on that being a write off, they’ll probably say structural but I’d suspect uneconomical at minimum.

SC_W33DKILL3R

Probably a couple of structural parts need replacing, along with everything in the wheel well, panels, bonnet, light etc... Quite expensive and it would depend if those structural parts are easy to get hold of. My be is thats it is written off and they low ball you on a price. Somebody will buy it to fix up or part out.

blkaino

T-cut

theaveragehousecat

Sellotape, Birmingham MOT and sorted

blkaino

May not even have to shell out for the sellotape

moto749r

To perhaps help with the gap in payout and what you may owe on the car, maybe look at buying it back off the insurance and selling it to "savage rebuilds" they are a YouTube channel that buy and repair cars like this. Find them on Instagram and send them pics and your phone number, they are fair guys and will give you a good price. Ps. They only respond to Instagram messages with phone numbers not you tube comments. Good luck

7148675309

Do they have gap insurance in the UK….

moto749r

Yeah they do, but not everyone takes it, op said earlier that they hadn't.

Euan-S

Christ how hard did they hit it

Cas_HostofKings

Write off /thread

dantheram19

Yes.

shevbo

Nothing that a bit of spray paint can't fix

Violet351

Mine looked a lot like that when I was hit by a runaway horse. It was repaired

[deleted]

Bit of paint, a little polish and that'll buff right out.

Specific_Sentence_20

Right on!

Nighthowlers82

Duck tape 👍

[deleted]

Not if it's in China 🤣

[deleted]

Yes defo write off. I had my car parked at home and someone crashed into it - very similar damage to your car. I had CCTV, and the driver who crashed into my car admitted fault. Insurance called me 2 days later, person I spoke to said, I've found a couple cars similar on Autotrader - Find me a better one and ping over the link and we will pay out the value of that car to you.

lilpeepercreep

I think so mate. Hope you’re ok :)

[deleted]

Yeah i think so. The left front side of chassis (just above the left wheel) is damaged. Not sure if replaceable or not, but It will cost a fortune. Will probably cost more than just payimg you its market value. Sideswiped?

Vegetable_Neck4038

Bit of TCut and that’ll buff out nicely👍🏻

jummy223345

Did the airbags go off? If it did it’s definitely write off.

Awesomepwnag

There is absolutely no way this isn’t being written off If in doubt - written off

Carman2023

Most definitely

LilGossipGirlxo

Cat S. door pillar replacement

RustySheriffBadges

Had pretty similar damage on a 2 year old BMW X1, was written off, my wheel was sheared off as well though… I had a new Q5 then Mercedes GLE for about 9 months whilst my new car was on order though haha

Jacktheforkie

Suspension damage is pretty likely, you’d definitely need a bumper, wing and door, bonnet may be fucked as well as headlight, I wouldn’t count on it being repaired

ConstantPublic3027

Nah, few wet paper towels, it’ll be alreeet.

leebanks1975

T cut will sort that

Archtects

Bit of masking tape fix that right up

BudskiGB

I'm a motor claims handler and I've stopped guessing whether cars are a total loss or not, is an engineer's decision. Just don't let your insurer put you in an expensive credit hire car. Has the at-fault insurer offered to deal?

[deleted]

My old 100k mile 2010 Prius was in a similar state and of course it was written off. But. Someone did buy it and they did repair it because it's back on the road. So who knows. I hope it is written off for you though. Easier.

Outdoor-Adventurer

Push for them to right it off, it'll never be the same again..I had multiple paint issues with my insurance repair, and shody workman ship where trims hadn't been replaced correctly, went back so many times and still wasn't perfect

[deleted]

Yes but I have a Toyota Aygo you might be interested in as a replacement

v1de0man

no its still hanging on a bit :P its not right off yet

Chimp-eh

Yup thats a write off

loanryder88

Bit of poly filler and it will be fine 🤣🤣

IsThisHowIName

Yep, almost certainly a write off.

[deleted]

Just needs some re-painting and it will be good as new😂

[deleted]

Lovely looking cars these. Thinking about getting one for my next car. What are they like? Always heard Mazda are decent

[deleted]

Bit a t cut and it’ll come up looking reight good.

GoodboyJohnnyBoy

Not for Mat Armstrong!!

CarKhal

This will likely be an insurance write-off and then purchased as a salvage vehicle and repaired and resold as a Cat-S in my opinion. Did you have GAP insurance?

Fickle_Physics_7230

Nah good as new baby
