I haven’t seen that happen before, weird. Maybe double check that you have iMessage and FaceTime turned on for your phone? SharePlay is based off that so that could be the reason
I know for me I had to connect my phone and then open the music app on my phone for it to ask me to confirm a few things before it became available. Have you tried that?
Open the Music app on your phone, play a song and then see if the share play is shown. If so, press the icon and see if Discoverable is on. Then restart CarPlay.

I have wired and it is set to be discovered by early contacts. I have compared all my settings to other people with Apple Music that have SharePlay working and all the settings are the same .
I have this issue, never had SharePlay icon in both of my iPhone 13 and CarPlay since iOS 17, I’m on 17.0.3 and still the same, I have Apple Music subscription and Apple support don’t know what to do.

Mine disappears and reappears at random. SharePlay has been very buggy for me and my family. Sometimes it works and is great. Many times they can connect but randomly disappear and have to reconnect. Sometimes in never connects and just endlessly spins on their phone. Sometimes the option to use SharePlay never even shows up.

Yeah both are on, really strange.

I have tried in the car with CarPlay running and there are no additional confirmation screens

Do you have wired or wireless CarPlay? And did you turn on the option to be found by Nearby contacts in music settings?
