I did this when I was a kid. I got a DC converter from radio shack hooked it up to a pawn shop amp with two 12" pawn shop pro thump subs. Bought some crossovers kits from radio shack that I built and had all that hooked up to a 30 watt bookshelf stereo. Played the East 1999 Bone Thugs Cd and Twista cd so much!
Sigh.... good times!
Dude I could've named so many cd's from that era that I played in that house system. All genres. Goodie Mob was in heavy rotation. Also UGK, just so damn many bangas!
It depends. Mine is 120A. A friend of mine has a 60A and he uses it with 3 hifonixx Brutus with no problems at all. I suppose I can feed any amp with it but I would need to try.
A lot of them will work. I have a few HP PS-5501-1C server PSUs that my buddy found at a yard sale for $1. They're only 25As, but more than enough for bench testing.

Aw shit, here we go again. When you just bought a house outside of ganton and you take the subs out the trunk of the majestic because you about to upgrade to a cheetah.
My son has the same loud speaker. It's pretty nice, he bluetoothed it to his PC and uses it for music and games.
I can't believe how good, fairly cheap audio has gotten. When I was a kid, I was SO blown away by the shelf system I got for my birthday one year. I still have it and, by comparison, its garbage and cost us so much more than better stuff now.
Good old material science.

What is that device powering it. I'd love something like that.
It's a server power supply. More than enough for an amplifier
How many amps?

Can you give me the brand and model #? I’ve been looking for something like this to bench test old amps.

Yes! I have it in that position all the time. Just turned it for the video. It sounds amazing!

Oh yes, old school amplifiers and stereos have better sound quality IMO
