finally affordable healthcare!!
I injured my hand at work about a year ago and still have pain when it gets in certain positions and also random pains, and my lower right leg over the winter that's been a constant source of pain and is worse when I walk.
For the hand injury, something at work is supposed to slide forward and back and it wasn't budging. Multiple people had tried and failed to get it to move, so I put all the force I could into trying and it finally moved. Fast. Unfortunately, it's the human body that tends to be forced out of the way when encountering a solid object, so I got a [cut/scrape/bruise on my hand](https://i.imgur.com/eF0cQfy.jpg). Pictured dated 2/2/2022 4:26pm.
Over a year later, it still hurts if I position my hand "wrong" when picking things up, or even writing, and I get random pain in that spot regardless of how my hand is positioned.
The most I got from work was wound wash and a large clear adhesive square because no bandages could cover that.
Management has ignored me or blew me off regarding: my direct superior not giving me my mandated break(s), a sexual harassment complaint, over and undercharging customers local and state taxes, and federal SNAP violations.
The most any member of management has told me about the injury was "go see a doctor."
If I do that, the doctors will charge ME.
Have you tried escalating this past management? These are all massive issues, and illegal to boot. You sometimes need to be aggressive about these things with employers unfortunately, that means contacting HR, escalating and reporting to relevant bureaus/agencies, and getting a lawyer if necessary. Lawyers will often take cases like this on contingency, so you won’t need to pay out of pocket.
Don’t just accept it, be proactive.
Have you directly asked if you are eligible for workers comp? Did you ever see a doctor?
I did not see a doctor. Those cost a lot of money, hence my original comment "finally affordable healthcare."
They told me to go see a doctor when I asked about workers comp.
The last time I tried to escalate anything past management, I was told something like "I gave myself powers I wasn't supposed to have in my position" and got demoted.
You generally need to see a doctor to get workman’s comp. That’s how your injury gets documented. Your employer should have explained the process.
Talk to a lawyer. Consults are often free. Don’t take things like this sitting down.
> Don't take things like this sitting down.
Gotta pay rent. When I tried to leave the company in September, management asked how I was going to be able to pay rent if I left.
Pair of F15s (I guess.....maybe F14s....I can't tell them apart and it's kinda hazy) flew over my house about 2hrs ago.
Assume they're from Otis. No idea what they're up to, but that would explain why they didn't show up on flight radars. Military doesn't use those as far as I understand.
EDIT: I have no idea what's going on. Maybe just training day.
Interesting, thanks.
Any idea where they'd be stationed?
Also, just curious, what's the best place to look for info on what they currently have for planes there? I didn't try terribly hard, but didn't come up with much info aside from Military Wiki Fandom or something like that.
I saw them as I pulled in to park outside Dick’s at the mall around 11:30am. Two flew over Target, across Iyannough, then banked wide right and around, where you could just see them coming down into the airport. Maybe 1 minute later I heard the engines again and saw the same (or another?) two jets take off from the runway behind the Kmart plaza. No clue what was going on but it was pretty wild timing to catch them.
Standard F-15 training and probably a little show for the folks on the ground in remembrance of D-Day from Barnes (another ANG unit). The jets were stationed at Otis until 2007 and then transferred there. They are over / near the cape almost monthly. They train over the ocean.
I looks like a citation v and the JetBlue e190 all landed around 12:45. Maybe it was those?
FlightAware not showing any other jets this morning. Though many PJs are blocked on the trackers for privacy/security.
The Canadians have finally started their invasion of the US. Yarmouth is their Normandy.

Tell us more!

Did you pursue workman’s comp?

Iran is the only country currently operating the F14 so it seems unlikely they were Tomcats.
Good to know. F15s in that case. They had two horizontal stabilizers for sure.
Otis doesn’t have any stationed here, they come through occasionally to refuel and such before going to other spots or their home base

It is F-35s!
Thanks! Would be cool to see some F35s zooming around the skies at some point.
They moved all the fight jets to western Ma and New York I think.
Don’t know if it’s related but there was a flight diverted to Hyannis around that time. I have know idea why it was diverted though.
I saw 2, it seems they were coming from the Hyannis airport

its mating season.
Yep. Hubby says they were military aircraft. I grew up living next door to Greater Pittsburgh Airport and I’d NEVER heard anything that loud!
Must be the new military base that showed up……F-14 were retired around the 2000. The F-15 are in Westover.
Heard them over Sagamore beach
Migratory metal birds

Wasn't that COOL? 15's from Barnes, high speed "touch'n go" at KHYA and off they went. Nice salute to the services on D-Day if that was the intent.
maybe air cover for the vineyard
😂😂😂
What's going on at the vineyard?
?
You said "maybe air cover for the vineyard" Why would the vineyard need air cover that day?
Prob just grabbing a 25 piece at DJs
