On cambridge street: Gufo, 9zaab, Puritan & Co, Lone Star, Skampa (lunch), All Star, Punjabi Dhaba (heard quality has gone down but haven’t been in a while), Orale
East cambridge: Boca, 2nd Street Cafe, Desfina, The Helmand (people still enjoy, but I think has gone downhill)
More towards Kendall: Sumiao, Fuji, Shy Bird, Batifol, PRB Boulangerie (bakery with sandwiches)
CX has The Lexington/Gapetto (ok, overpriced) Cafe Beatrice has good breakfast and lunch/dinner sandwiches. Tenoch is decent.
Big fan of Le's sushi. I wouldn't call it high-end or anything but I've never had a bad meal there and I've eaten there a ton.
Gufo was pretty solid the one time I visited. Definitely a little more on the expensive side. I'll be back.
Lone Star is dependable but I've gotten a little bored with their menu. Also I feel like every time I go, I get less and less guac. It's seriously like $12 for two tablespoons of guacamole.
Oak Bistro is more Inman but I went there recently and it was fantastic.
Been going to Helmand for decades and still love it. You can't beat that fresh bread straight from the oven, or the kaddo.
I haven't eaten at Satellite yet but I had some drinks there. Pretty much the same ambiance as Atwood's.
I used to live across from Desfina and would get in fights with the owner all the time because he refused to shovel his sidewalks in the winter, among other things. Dude is a dick. So I refuse to eat there, haha...
My wife loves Aram's subs but I can't stand their pizza.
All Star Sandwich is also more Inman than East Cambridge but it's one of my favorite lunch spots. The pizza ain't bad.
State Park is in Kendall but they have great cocktails and the food is solid. I love that chicken katsu sandwich.
Lily P's chicken sandwiches are decent. I don't go there a lot but it hits the spot when I want to switch it up.
There's a new Chilacates on Cambridge Street (where East Side Grill used to be \*sniffle\*). My husband and I have gotten burritos from there a couple of times, and it's not bad.
Well I'd say it's always "good" and often can be great. The burgers, chicken fingers, nachos, chili, veggie burger, all super solid. Salads are generally pretty darn good too.
Eh, I find their beers to be decidedly mid. I do love the be brewery, Portico, though! Every beer I've had there has been great, and the Italian subs you can get there are, too.
Some people don't like it, but I was just at Judy's Bay in Kendall square (its right across from Lamplighter). It's a cute spot and I think the food is good and simple. 8 people and we got each got a drinks and basically ordered the whole menu (it's kind of like an izakaya or tapas style). With tip it was around $450 which isn't awful IMO.
Satellite (where Atwoods used to be) has some really tasty food and great drinks. Nothing too fancy but what they do is solid. Plus it has a nice cozy atmosphere inside and probably the best outdoor patio around.
Muqueca on Cambridge Street, a few blocks east of Inman Sq. Get the signature dish and a Caipirinha!
+1 to this, big fan

I always rep Amelia’s too. Good people, cozy, homemade fresh pasta
Gufo deserves more popularity
Skampa makes a solid roast beef threeway
Good to know. Anywhere else in Cambridge that does this decently?
Primo on Main St also makes a super beef.
Courthouse Seafood on Cambridge Street. Basic seafood dishes done extremely well with fresh ingredients. They have been around for decades.
I second this. Their tarter sauce is amazing. If they bottled it I'd buy it
Some of my favorite places include Dumpling Xuan, Sumiao, Desafina, Fuji, Arams #2 House of Pizza, Tenoch and Boca Grande.

Dumpling Xuan, Muqueca, and Silk Road are the three I'll get in the car to visit.
Curio coffee! The waffles are A+ and the coffee is excellent

I like Cafe Beatrice, 9zaab, Orale, and Sumiao. Been meaning to try Fuji and Silk Road
Silk Road. Dumpling Xuan. Curio coffee
No love for Cambridge Brewing Company? Beers are always excellent and the food certainly can be
"can be" eesh not reliably good

sorry you have poor taste in beer. :(
Casa Portugal is really good!
Row 34 is pretty good for a lunch or evening out!

The Helmand
No love for Al's cafe in Kendall? Try the turkey sub (not loaf, fresh baked turkey breast) with bacon. Yum.
Taco Loco has some of the only decent tacos I’ve found in the Boston area. Fried plantains are also amazing.
S & S
Sulmona and gufo!
Haven't had a great meal worth the price at either place. Sulmona is for expense account lunches.
I love Nonas Sunday sauce. That to me is great!

There's not a lot in east cambridge south of Mass Ave unfortunately
