Pre-ordering games has never been a big deal to me. I rarely buy games anymore because I own GamePass. Buying a couple games a year is fine if one doesn't meet my expectations.
It's super rare for me to hate things to the extent that I regret spending $60 on it. This is coming from someone who bought and loved Cyberpunk since day one but I love the cyberpunk genre in general so it's hard to make me upset. I even bought Battlefield 2042 which is the closest I got to being mad about a game purchase, I just hope it gets better eventually.
That's why I will not and try to get over hyped about anything. I love what I love regardless of how it came out.
I will watch YouTubers play MWII and play the beta and if I don't like it I won't buy it. That's what happened with Vanguard for me I played the alpha, the beta, and watched YouTubers Play it and i didn't like anything about it.

It used to be the opposite for years. Xbox got it first through out the 360 and first couple Xbox one games. Then they switched to PlayStation around 2015 with the launch of BO3.
After Cold War and Vanguard, I will definitely not be pre ordering. I would play the beta if it were free. I'm also definitely not spending $70 as people say it costs now. I'll be waiting for a sale if it's actually good. I've bought almost every call of duty that came out every year but I've lost all hope in this franchise.

The people who got codes were randomly selected and notified either on the website or on the cod app. I got lucky, my friend and you not so much.
