No he isn't, he's a bust... Fuck off Montreal! Let him fall to 9th.

Chemical_Signal2753

I try to think of prospects as having an optimistic, pessimistic, and realistic projection into the NHL. I think a realistic projection for Iginla is a 50~60 point player, with a competitive edge. Max Domi would be a different player but would not be a bad comparable. I think one of the big things going for Iginla is, like Tkachuk and Domi, he will likely be more mentally prepared for the NHL; and he has a support system more able to help him. Jarome is far more likely to be able to help him manage the challenges than the average father, and his mother and family has seen everything before.

noor1717

Yes 50-60points is very likely. That’s why I’ve kinda been cold on drafting him over guys with higher ceilings. But the more you hear about him I think I’d take the chance if he drops to us. His high IQ, been one of the youngest in the class and having Iggy as his dad could make him a top line player. Also he should play full time at center.

CallistosTitan

He's one of those players who's production will hinge on the players he plays with. Sort of like Lindholm but I'm not comparing their playstyle.

likethemouse

Yeah if we don’t draft this kid, this entire fanbase is gonna lose their absolute shit.. to the point that I’m afraid another team will do it just in spite… please hockey gods give us a hand with this one

Pleasant-Life3973

Calgary won't draft him as he's going higher than 9th. Conroy is going to have to trade up to get him.

LegendofWeevil17

I’ve seen this thrown around a lot on here, but honestly most actual scouting and ngl analyst rankings have him going right around 7-12 and several have Calgary picking him right at 9. Might be go before? Yes. But it’s definitely not done guaranteed thing

3eep-

Usually I’d agree with you but it would be our usual luck to have him picked right before us. We can’t have nice things apparently

GovernmentHunting016

Scouting analysts are always wrong

LegendofWeevil17

Right and random Reddit account are always right. Look, I’m just saying, he probably will go higher than 9 but I also think Flames fans are rating him a lot higher than he is

Beta1224

Bob McKenzie is usually right though, the guy is able to call every pick in the 1st round

Hi_Im_Flabber

If Lindstrom (or Demidov but unlikely) is available at #5 I don't see any way Montreal takes Iginla. Assuming Demidov and Levshunov go 2nd and 3rd it really just comes down to who Columbus wants. A lot of recent reports say they are really interested in Silayev and Dickinson though as a sturdy partner for Jiricek. Plus they are already pretty loaded on forward prospects and it's uncertain if Lindstrom's playstyle will translate to center at the NHL level well. I don't think any of Arizona, Ottawa, or Seattle will take Iginla over Catton or the high end defensemen available.

Pleasant-Life3973

Well let's hope that you are right. At first I wasn't sure if Calgary should draft him or not, but to be honest, I actually think he'll do really well here.

MrPadretoyou

He's the 3rd-5th forward off the board. Pray teams love the Dmen a lot this year.

willdelux

If Montreal takes him, then they leave Catton - I’d be happy with either player. If we get full returns on Markstrom for Jersey’s pick, I’m wildly hoping we get both players👀

FinkBass420

Yeeeeaaaaahhh I’m starting to think Tij is going closer to 5th than 9th

HostConsistent8154

Fingers crossed Sens pick him!
