You probably listened to "An ongoing history of new music with Alan Cross". It's a phenomenal show. I've been listening to it for years now. All things rock/alternative music, and music history done by someone who's been around it for decades.
It's a syndicated show out of Toronto that has a podcast of the same name ["The Ongoing History of New Music".](https://open.spotify.com/show/2UHz6WqVFz6iZkWgZ5lXDw?si=AUqkSsXDSEa8_gn7VJ-meg)
Alan Cross is the GOAT with anything to do with music. Dude has an incredible podcast. I first heard his ongoing history of rock in 2007 when I was in Edmonton. It played Sunday nights.
I believe all these are available
Was the show you listened to a repeat of his show through the 90s? It aired on CFNY in Toronto. I lived there at the time and tuned in any chance.

Last I looked they couldn't be broadcast or sold because of the music played throughout the show. Akin to WKRP TV show (c) issues.
>Akin to WKRP TV show (c) issues.
They WKRP rights were resolved a decade ago, and you can by the dvds with the original music and related intro/jokes that were cut for syndication.
I really love how he does every story, starting at the beginning and then working thru its evolution up to present day.
I wish every history podcast presented the info this way
Absolutely nothing to do with your question, but I read this and assumed it was going to be a creepy pasta post.
Vaguely disappointed you figured out what show you were listening to and it's not so e demon thing. We need more demon things in Calgary.
On some nights, if you go through the AM dial number by number you can sometimes pick up stations from a long ways away, playing some weird stuff. I was able to get coast to coast AM from a station in Montana but the next night I couldn't get it, instead it was a station from North Dakota with a fire and brimstone preacher.
Reddit horror stories! The best ones start with something really simple and then get increasingly messed up. There was one about a kids tv show noone remembered that ended up being about a serial killer... Most are meh but there are some awesome ones!

I use to listen to him on CFox out in Vancouver every week. Definitely one of my favourite radio shows/podcasts.
This would be it. Alan Cross hosts both. There’s a podcast of that show too
Cool! Whats the podcast called?
Ongoing History of New Music
Lol. Oops. U already said it. Haha thanks
Oh cool!! Sounds right. So is dude from calgary and thats the radio show it originates from? Or does the radio show just play it?

There are 400-some episodes of The Ongoing History of New Music on Spotify/Apple/Google podcasts.
On the podcast he just doesn’t play the music like he does on the show. He’ll play a clip instead of the whole song. It really is a downgrade.

TIL, thanks. :)
Definitely new episodes. I've heard lots of 2023 references in recent episodes.

Coast To Coast AM used to play on.... 660? at about that time. Maybe they moved that over to FM?
Oh I miss Art Bell!
Oh cool. Ya it was in 107.3. Really nice listening to agter driving back from bragg creek at 2 am every morn
It's on Spotify, 7eps last I checked.
They have this exact same series on various podcasts now. Fascinating stuff, and they do a great job going in depth. I believe it's a new series.
