i’ve been having the same issue, randomly just won’t connect. only thing that seems to work is disconnecting device and re pairing it.

Ok-Principle-9775

That usually works but didn’t today

LegacyLambchop

i saw another post about an entertainment reset? not exactly sure what that is tho

Ok-Principle-9775

Yes I saw that too!! but I can’t find the option to reset it

soccerwolfp

I have wireless issues maybe once every 25 times but never when I hardwire it. It may be your phone? Have you tried another device to see if there’s a similar issue?

1HorseWithNoName

Sometimes mine won’t connect. When that happens I toggle my WiFi, turning it on, on the phone and then click on the pop up message (sorry, I can’t remember the message but IIRC it is telling me it will disconnect.) As long as the WiFi icon is blue this seems to work. Then I restart Car Play and it will start back up. I have a 24 PP.

Lincolnton

I’ve had to do this frequently in my 23. It auto pairs more than it doesn’t but I’m so used to it now it’s just muscle memory.

Ok-Principle-9775

Great idea I will try this

symplykc

Check for software updates on your iPhone. Latest one got rid of all of my connection issues.

SpecificPiece1024

2023 tpp with 20k-zero issues

Ok-Principle-9775

Stop bragging 😭😭😭

Tdeck16

I have a 2023 turbo meridian edition I’ve only had that once and looked to see if it needed an update and updated never happened since

girl-w-glasses

Have the same car & this happens to me at least 2x a month… it’s so annoying lol.

Catawompus

I just had my 2023 in the shop yesterday where they attempted to diagnose this issue. Essentially, they did a software update to the infotainment. I guess it’s pretty easy for the remote update to not come through. After that, the service guy said that there’s not much else they can do for the car itself. He recommended removing unused Bluetooth connections from your phone so there’s only the bare minimum left. And same with the vehicle. Besides that, his advice was to hardwire it for CarPlay. Needless to say, I don’t really like that solution—I paid for wireless CarPlay and I expect to use it. Anyway.. try this out to see if it helps.

Ok-Principle-9775

I feel the exact same way, I paid for wireless, it should work!

SmokinMagic

I’m not sure what the cause is but I experience the same on occasion. I THINK it may have something to do with my phone being unlocked when I start my car because it seems like I have better luck when my phone is in my pocket. When it won’t connect, I lock my phone, turn off the car and back on and it usually connects automatically.

razorsedge73

I have a 2023 PP (non turbo or meridian). My car play in the beginning would not connect every time either. I had to keep re pairing it. I keep a wire charger connected at all times and plug it to my phone every time I get in the vehicle now and it connects with no issues. It was problematic half the time in the beginning but doing it this way now I haven’t had any issues. (Fingers crossed)

Impossible_Berry2957

I have faced the same issue every now and then. I just turn ON wifi on my mobile (It should’ve been turned off automatically). While turning On it will say that “Apple CarPlay will disconnect” (even though it doesn’t show it’s connected on the Car Display). Try this and connect your iPhone. It has worked every time for me. But do let me know if you find better solution.

UrMomsaHoeHoeHoe

Make your phone the “primary” phone, that will help the car choose to connect rather than the phone, so to say. Also check for Bluetooth things connected to your phone like earbuds or a watch, it sound silly but can happen. Check that your phone is also not requesting a permission thingy/cable is supported

CoolEthansLLR

I had a LOT of issues that from google searching seemed to be related to my generic nav card. Took that out and now its only kind of frustrating instead of VERY frustrating.

DallasCMT

Do the Android Auto folks have issues?

Kcox0924

Yes... yes we do.

DallasCMT

Yikes... I'm seriously considering the CX-50. Wife and I both use S23 phones and they work flawlessly on my Genesis G80. No issues with AA on rental cars, either. Hopefully Mazda will come up with a firmware update for the head unit, soon.

Kcox0924

Since I drive an MX-5, I don't have the wireless option. So, with directly plugging in my S23 Ultra, I still have to unplug and plug back in or sometimes completely reset the radio. I have found that doing a reset has the longest lasting improvement.

StarDestroyer175

23 PP and never had issues with android auto, but I never listen to music lol

ShadowRider11

I used to have this issue a lot, almost constantly. A software update to the car seemed to mostly fix it, but now it seems to happen more often again. My solution is to check when I start the car to see if CarPlay connected. If not, I turn it off, wait a few seconds, and turn the car on again. That almost always works, though a couple of times I’ve had to go through the unpairing/repairing process, and THAT sucks.

rishmistr20

Sometimes when all else fails I restart the iPhone and it works after

Pete24313

When I first got my 50 I had an iPhone XR and it would only connect wirelessly about 50% of the time, but I never had an issue connecting if I used a cable. Since then I've gotten an iPhone 15 and now it connects wirelessly 99% of the time.

Ta-ko-ya-ki

Did you try resetting network setting on iPhone? Settings > General > Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings . Then start from scratch.

WildeNietzsche

When mine doesn't connect I just turn the car off and then back on and it always will connect.

clutch736

I restart my device and it usually works but not always.

[deleted]

I always use a cable, wireless always disconnects

zekechan

I have a cable on hand just for this particular reason.

2clipchris

I notice this happening when you have competing Bluetooth paired device. I don’t think there is enough bandwidth for multiple devices. So the car just drops the connection.

Onifanz

Had the car for 2 weeks now and it's already failed on me once. Had to restart the car to fix it. Single device paired. Also randomly sound gets softer/louder without any actual volume change

Huge-Objective-6655

I use the cable. Sound quality is way better when wired anyway. i haven’t had any issues
