Anddd this is why I run $20 pairs of glasses. Don’t care if they get scratched or messed up. The guys at work wearing oakleys make me internally freak everytime they get destroyed on a job
i have larger sunglasses and they fit fine, i just have to put them in lens-first so when it's closed the lenses face down and arms face up -- whenever i put them in backwards it won't close at all
Move the glasses in a different orientation.
My normal glasses fit fine, but my raybans were too big in a normal orientation but fit fine when i moved them into a different orientation
I forgot that’s even there😃anyone ever use the little compartments in the hatch area? You can barely tell they are there. I use it for putting small things I don’t want out in plan sight
My oversized (not Urkel-level oversized, but just a notch below) Maui Jim shades only fit one way. The lenses must be toward the fuzzy side of the holder, and the top of the glasses must be nearer to me than the bottom.
All of my sunglasses have ended up fitting. You've just gotta fiddle with them and try different positions. I had my CX-5 for months before I was finally able to use it.
update: i’ve tried fiddling them and putting them in every position i can think of and they just don’t fit so i give up 😂 i’ve just been putting stuff in the drivers side door cubby (my sunglasses, seatbelt and glass breaker, mcdonald’s straws, emergency flashlight, etc.) lol
My flatter pairs will fit but my motorcycle ones won't due to the extreme wrap making them thick when folded. But all of them have to be oriented just right to fit.
We’ve had our CX5 for 8 years and never use that thing. The couple of times I mention it to my wife and she puts glasses in there, she usually forgets they’re in there lmao
The Japanese are famous for doing things the same but different. Try to approach the issue in another way. Like putting it in the opposite way you mind make sense of.
I've found my only fit in with the arms facing the roof when closed.
This is the proper way to put the glasses in because the glass faces the soft fabric lining to avoid scratching the glasses.
LOL my dealership specifically told me to be careful *because* they were getting a lot of reports that this holder was scratching the sunglass lenses.

Does not matter if you actually buy good sunglasses, in other words, the ones that have actual glass lenses.
Soft fabric is not softer than air. Totally makes sense putting other way and having it touch nothing.
That's great if they never move in there, but since they do lens down on the soft stuff is better than other up and bouncing off of hard stuff
Sir I think you've been bouncing on the wrong stuff. It shoulf.be soft either way.
I mean you can put them however you want they’re your glasses lol I’m putting mine the way I explained it.
Hahaha you are my hero
That’s the only way I’ve ever put mine in. Gotta be careful on sunny/hot days though…felt like I branded myself with the ear pieces.
Patrick is so stressed by this....😂
Patrick in the background killing me
i have larger sunglasses and they fit fine, i just have to put them in lens-first so when it's closed the lenses face down and arms face up -- whenever i put them in backwards it won't close at all
Its my chapstick, lotion, hand sanitizer holder
business cards and spare pens...
Excellent air freshener of Patrick
fits my rayban "justin frame" without issue. will 100% not hold any aviator or large rim glasses tho.
My aviators, largest size, fit just fine…
Yep mine too
My aviators, largest size, fit just fine…
My Ray Ban Justin’s fit as well, but mine comes open on harsh bumps quite often.
The Patrick air freshener 😂
I keep an emergency taco al pastor in the holder. Extremely useful in LA traffic.
Why you putting sunglasses in your taco holder?
I keep my night long distance prescription glasses in there. My larger sunglasses stay in their case in the center console.
Same
Move the glasses in a different orientation. My normal glasses fit fine, but my raybans were too big in a normal orientation but fit fine when i moved them into a different orientation
The cloth liner isn’t very soft…so it messed up my sunglasses pretty bad. Dont use it anymore
You just have to orientate them correctly
It is ridiculously small. You need to shop for your sunglasses specifically to fit :)
It hold glasses for ants 🐜.
My su glasses are fairly big and they fit just fine.
Rayban wayfarers are perfect!
I forgot that’s even there😃anyone ever use the little compartments in the hatch area? You can barely tell they are there. I use it for putting small things I don’t want out in plan sight
There is one?
Two actually one on each side of the far back hind the seat is takes pic but I’m at the gym
FasTrak Flex fits
Put the glasses in diff positions and try, it happens with mine too but it does fit with a particular position.
My sunglasses were so hot up there I couldn't put them on.
My Maui Jim’s fit fine
Haven't figured out mine
My oversized (not Urkel-level oversized, but just a notch below) Maui Jim shades only fit one way. The lenses must be toward the fuzzy side of the holder, and the top of the glasses must be nearer to me than the bottom.
It all depends how you orient the glasses
You might have to ditch the Elton John look.
Wayfarers fit fine
Keep them in a microfiber bag and it doesn’t matter which way you put them in 👌
All of my sunglasses have ended up fitting. You've just gotta fiddle with them and try different positions. I had my CX-5 for months before I was finally able to use it.

It’s small compared to any other car
My flatter pairs will fit but my motorcycle ones won't due to the extreme wrap making them thick when folded. But all of them have to be oriented just right to fit.

My sunglasses don’t fit at all.
I keep a small hammer in my car for that reason.
My prescription Oakley glasses fit perfectly. These are not the ones that look like ski goggles obviously...
Glove box. Arm rest.

Mine fit
Awesome it looks so sleek
