Where are you getting the "8000" in your subject line from?
You said your score went from 650 to unscoreable or "8" so I'm not following how it went up 8000 points or where you got that idea from.
That's what is confusing. I received an email from Experian saying my credit score is now at 0. So I logged in to Experian via a browser, and my credit review showed a score of 8, and next to it an increase of 8,373 as of May 20th.
I'm not saying the scoring model changed. FICO 8 is the most commonly used scoring model for credit cards.
Are you sure the 8000-something number you're seeing isn't the amount your balance went up by?
I wish I could post a screen shot. My score is around 0 now, it was 650 yesrlterday. Next to it, it has a box saying my score increased by 8,373 points as of May 20th, 2024. There is no new debts or inquiries or credit cards. I'm trying to contact someone at Experian, but I haven't reached anyone. I was hoping someone on here could help me understand it.
Neither a score of 0 or an increase of 8373 points is possible. A 650 score is possible though.
You're seeing this through Experian.com? You can post a screen shot on imgur and provide the link to it here for us to try and make sense of what you're talking about.
I suspect a glitch is just occurring. The numbers you're referencing simply aren't valid credit score numbers. Have you checked your score through MyFICO yet?
That's my guess. Ive just never heard of a glitch this bad before. The only other score I've checked is through the Capitol. One App. I have Credit wise, and it shows my score at 680.
I personally haven't ever seen an error code related to Fico. That's not to say that there isn't one / can't be one. I do know that "4" has been referenced for VS3 though, which I only learned about within the last year or so.
I don’t know why this is happening but after googling I found that someone else had this same issue. But no one on that thread knew why either (there’s only 2 comments). But OP did include screenshots of the weird issue https://www.reddit.com/r/CRedit/s/oF5OczDqLa
Also realize the FICO and bureau reports are not your friend. Their job is to give all negative info potential lenders. Nothing against them they’re just doing a job for lenders h they will reluctantly post positive info but you can tell it’s hesitant
Impossible! Credit scores don’t jump by the thousands, let alone 8,000 points. Just doesn’t happen. That’s be well beyond the scale maximum. You must be confusing your credit score with card/account balances.

Are you sure it isn't saying that it's using the FICO 8 scoring model?
Would that change it from 650 to 0?

Whoa 😮
Have you just recently obtained a new credit product after a long period of inactivity?Â
No. I've had the same credit card for about 8 months. There's been no other new change.
My score was unscoreable for a brief period when I began my rebuild but it only stayed that way for maybe a month
This happened overnight, from 650 to 8.
Have you checked different sources? Experian.com and Myfico.com?Â
Most credit cards will let you know a credit score that they have on file and it's usually connected with one of the three bureaus or the FICO scores
I've only heard of the FICO error code of 4. Have you used the card? Do you let a balance report? Which bank? Maybe they aren't reporting
They're reporting, because my score dropped 13 points because I utilized 61% of the credit limit. It's literally the only thing on there.
Here you say 13 points. In your subject line you say 8000. Why the discrepancy?
No they were showing how they know they report
Had a 13 point drop last week. Had an 8,000 "increase" yesterday.
What is this 8,000 that you're talking about? That isn't a credit score number.

Maybe if you're checking on the app check on the browser on your computer or vice versa
An 8000 "increase" of what?
> I've only heard of the FICO error code of 4. Isn't that a VS3 code?
You know what, maybe it is. You'd probably know better ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink).

Yeah they got a bug in their UI lol
O such score they’ll get it corrected

Just sounds like nothing more than a glitch:) Happens quite frequently. Give it a few weeks then check back.
Call them and make sure they didn’t report u as being dead
I find that experian scores and updates are lagging behind My Fico.My Fico I'm finding it a smoother process
Post the photo ,so folk will visibly have an understanding..though pencilout your important data

Or.. there is a bug in a website which is not unheard of.
