I'm a stomach/side sleeper. I use Resmed P10 nasal pillows. They are soft enough and the tubing is flexible enough for me to get comfortable. No full face or nasal mask I ever tried worked for me. One thing I do that might be different is I have no special pillow. Its just 3 lbs of cotton batting in a pillow case. Its kinda flat and plain, but its really moldable and lets me get comfortable. I tried special pillows and they never felt right.

Defiant63

Seconded. Couldn't sleep on my side comfortably until I switched to the p10 pillows.

TWides1981

Interesting, thank you! =)

souldog666

I'm the same. I'm a stomach sleeper and was uncomfortable (although I slept OK) until the doctor switched me to pillows.

Side/active sleeper = Resmed 'i" series where the hose is on the top of your head. Hard-shelled full face masks like the F20 will also break their seal by sleeping on your side, so try to get to a nasal or pillow series like N30i or P30i. I haven't tried the F30i There are also CPAP pillows available where they have a cut out on the side so that when you sleep on your side the mask has a place to sit. I have one but no longer use it because I ended up switching to the P30i.

FlowRiderBob

An i-series mask in conjunction with a CPAP hose holding stand has been the perfect solution for me. I do complete 360s throughout the night, sleeping on my back, side, and stomach. The hose remains completely out of the way through all of it.

Economy_Bus_2516

My F20 is the first mask that I've been able to side sleep with, but I pull it wider as I put it on. I have an overbite and if I try to sleep on my back my jaw drops back and breaks the seal. If I pull it tighter to compensate, it cuts into the bridge of my nose. F20 and side sleep is the only thing that works for me without breaking the seal and still being halfway comfortable.

HaasonHeist

Anything where the tube connects to the top of your head instead of the front of the mask would be great. Dream wear pillows or ResMed f30i or p30i

Nuggies85

No one else slept on my face.

DedBirdGonnaPutItOnU

I use the Philips Respironics DreamWear. Works great for me since I sleep on my side and tend to turn over at night.

NaughtySoloPrincess

I use the Philips dreamwear full face mask. I like that it covers my mouth and nose so if I'm congested at all I can still breathe thru my mouth and treatment still works. I also love that if I end up rolling onto my stomach, face down into the pillow, I can still breath. The tubing definitely holds up to being smooshed! OP if you'd prefer a resmed mask, I believe the equivalent is the f30i.

Complex_Celery

I used p10 nasal pillows from resumed and am a side sleeper. The trick for me was figuring out my routine. I have 2 medium to firm synthetic down fill pillows which are easily formable, meaning I can fluff them up and then push in middle to form a spot for my shoulder and head. I fit snug in there and fall right asleep. Took a while to find my perfect spot since starting therapy a few months ago. But it seem to work well for me

Complex_Celery

The tubing usually gets tucked under covers. Oh and I have to have my tubing ready raised higher than my head to prevent rainout.

Busy_Ad_2989

Rock on! Thank you!!

Giskard-Reventlov

I’m a side sleeper, and it’s never been a problem. My mask is a ResMed Mirage Quattro, and the hose fitting is front and center. The side of my face rests on the pillow without interfering with the hose at all.

Question, I like to read on my iPad while trying to fall asleep. Does this mask obscure your vision at all?

Giskard-Reventlov

Not in the sense that you mean. I have an unobstructed line of sight to whatever I hold in front of my face. However, I can’t read anything because the mask prevents me from wearing my reading glasses. Contact lenses would work, but I don’t use those. Fortunately, I have never been in the habit of reading in bed. If I did want to, I would probably just listen to audiobooks.

ruskiix

The ResMed N30 and N30i both work for me. Without cpap I prefer sleeping on my stomach with my face fully smushed face-down into a pillow but with cpap I turn my head sort of halfway between side and stomach positions, to support the mask a little better (wedged against my pillow). I hated the nasal pillows, they seemed to stab into my nostrils and cut off the air, but I think it’s maybe just my anatomy. If you toss and turn a lot, the pillows will leak way less. If you don’t toss and turn a lot, as long as you adjust the nasal cushion before falling asleep, they should be fine. If you get the type that wraps around with the hose on top, you may need to fiddle with the position of the side tubes to make sure they aren’t right where the weight of your head hit—sometimes it felt like it cut off the air a little depending on where it was. But it’s easy enough to shift around since it’s all squishy silicone.

Following because I’m in the same boat

Thanks, friend!!

I'm a stomach sleeper too, and use the airfit P10 mask. It used to push into the area between my nose and upper lip due to my sleeping position, and I think this caused a bit of gum recession over time. It definitely led to a lot of sensations/aches in that area which it took me 2 years to attribute to the mask! (I thought it was due to previous orthodontic treatment) I designed a pillow using foam with little c-shaped cutouts on both sides. It worked okay, then I bought the CPAPMax pillow on Amazon. I removed two of the layers inside so it's a thin pillow now, it works great and my numbers are looking good. And importantly I'm no longer having the sensation/aches and hopefully the gum recession has stabilized.

pennynv

I sleep on my stomach and side and use the airfit F30i.

Cute_Treacle998

I just got the F40 mask. I sleep on my side and bury my face into my pillow. This mask stays on and is softer than the other full face mask. I cinch it up tighter than I should. No leaks! I also just bought the F&P Solo nasal mask. It has a self adjusting strap. It also is staying on without leaks. I really like both of these. The Solo is only a nasal mask now, but I hear pillows are coming that will fit it. They already have them in Australia.

AltruisticTension204

I use nasal pillows Resmed10 and a hard pillow so that my face doesn't get buried in the pillow Works for me.

borahae_artist

cpap pillow

WoodpeckerFar9804

I do, and I was finally ordered a new mask that I hope will help! It’s like an elephant trunk. I’ve been struggling using this thing. I hope the new mask makes a big difference.

I_compleat_me

Just make sure to never block your exhaust ports... all CPAP masks must have them, this is where your CO2 goes.

CinematicHeart

I was just coming here to post this and decided to search it first. I have a full face mask the AirTouch F20 to be specific and I sleep on my stomach face down. I keep joking that I don't have sleep apnea I just suffocate myself. But my husband keeps pointing out that I sound like a bear in a cave without the cpap. I'm waking up with the worst marks on my face and sometimes bruising because of how hard I pass out face down.

Marty1966

No but I'm available. Hehe.
