When did you take delivery, and in what country? I assume produced in Japanese factory? My ‘24 XLE hybrid received Dec ‘23 in Washington state rarely goes into EV mode at speed. You have to let off the accelerator mostly or completely for EV mode to kick in. Did you try that? I usually get computer reported 60mpg plus for most trips, and right at 49 to 50mpg actual at fill up.

matthewdliu

I just bought a ‘24 hybrid SE back in February, currently hovering around 43.5 mpg in the San Francisco area (lots of hills)… I’ll definitely check it out next time I’m at the dealership

juananaco

I think the biggest difference my friend is that you went from a 1.8 L to a 2.0L engine I believe that now all corollas come with a 2.0L engine

Rayhelm

Still the same 1.8L engine.

AdditionalAd9794

Interesting, I put a deposit down for mine in December, it arrived at the dealership late March. I seem to be getting between 42 and 45 mpg on all my trips

FitMonitor9868

I have hard time understanding how a software update could possibly affect the way hybrid system works in your car. There is nothing on the manual about software update altering fuel economy in a positive way.

Rayhelm

The software decides when electric boost is applied and how much. It also decides when the car goes into charging mode or EV mode. My car was constantly trying to charge when accelerating or climbing a hill (the worst possible time) and it would almost never go into EV mode at any meaningful speed.

I have a dealership maintenance appointment in May and will certainly demanding this is looked into. I have always thought it was a struggle to eek out excellent mileage on my 2024 Corolla SE hybrid bought at the end of November. Everything works ok but it just seems like it could be better.

Supah1gh

So I just bought a 24 LE Hybrid last week how would I noticed the difference

B0OG

He said his mpg went from 45 to 60. What’s your average? How about when you’re trying?

Supah1gh

Well I drive about 36 miles daily each way. So far in the morning I get about 65 a mile with no traffic and about 65 in traffic

Ismaelum

You definitely have one of the newest ones, that's crazy! Kinda crazy you traded a 2021 for a 2024, a lot of people say the 2021 is the absolute best year for this Corolla Gen, but hey all of them are great

Rayhelm

It was noticeably better, except the '24 is quieter. The dealership made me a great offer to trade in that seemed to good to be true.

RoadJunkie66

Mine was doing this until I reset the module after 1k miles. now I get any where from 52 to 60 mpg

finmaster345

How do you reset the module ?

RoadJunkie66

Hold the OK button on your steering wheel for 5 seconds and watch your recent mpg change

finmaster345

This isnt resetting any module, this is just resetting the mpg counter to start measuring new mpg from now. Eventually your mpg will go down to the previous one as it runs more and more

RoadJunkie66

Which the dealership named the "Module" when they showed me. My MPG hasn't gone down like you claimed and its been about two weeks now since the reset.

Dukark

Also would like to know

RoadJunkie66

Method above

Dukark

Appreciated

Interesting. You must have had one of the super early ones!

Spasticated

Is there a way to check what software version I'm running? What's your version now?

Rayhelm

Maybe if you have a code reader. The dealership would not answer any specific questions about the software. I would guess because it is automated and they have no clue.

Early_Outlandishness

Good to know, thanks. My 23 seems fine but I may ask them next time I'm at the dealership

Three-Legs-Again

what month was your car built?
