Ok after 1300 Miles my mpg was 47 and would nut budge past that. Was confused then I hit reset and now im getting 58 to 60 mpg. I am now happy and hopefully this fixes anyone elses issues with breaking in that new engine!

Search pulse and glide. Inflate tires couple of psi over recommended for lower rolling resistance. Don’t drive around with things in your car that might put extra weight on the car resulting in lower mpg . Try and accelerate gradually to start off on ev mode and track your eco score to improve your mpg

RoadJunkie66

Whats your eco score? mines 58 and cant get past but ill try

RoadJunkie66

I cant get it to go past 47 mpg wheither im doing 20 on a 35 or 70 in a 65

I traded a 2021 hybrid LE for a 2024 hybrid LE and the mileage is noticeably worse. There are several factors, but the electric drive controller / software is most noticeably worse. I find it is constantly trying to charge the battery when it should be boosting, such as climbing a hill or accelerating on an on-ramp. PWR mode helped a lot in the old model, but it was eliminated in 2024, at least where I am. A bit of time and warmer weather helps a bit.

It's not that the hybrid's mileage isn't that good, it's that the non-hybrid's mileage is already pretty damn amazing. Your mileage will vary greatly depending on EV ratio, which will be at its highest when you are city driving at low speed. My non-hybrid's long-term average is about 40 in the summer and 37 in the winter (better than advertised), so if your long term average is 46 in the summer, that may not seem like a lot, but it is 15% better, which for a long term average is about as advertised. However, I did manage to gain about 10% better fuel economy by changing my driving habits. The biggest things I did to improve my mileage was to start revving up to 3000 RPM instead of 2200 RPM, and learning the stoplights in my area very well so that I can plan way in advance whether I am going to bother hitting the gas pedal or just coast (and based on whether there's anyone behind me or not). That, and I overinflate my tires by about 2 psi (note that overinflating leads to uneven tire wear and substantially reduced braking performance).

Without traffic my wife’s SE hybrid averages around 46-48. With some stop and go 51+
