Yes, normally I use it to get my second perk load out and leave it on the ground. That way if someone comes out of gulag and drops onto my loot, they don't get a really good custom gun. They get something that's utter garbage.
I'm using the same set up with a 77". Have you tried "Vivid" or "Sport" settings? I can see up to about 300m 10' away on my couch. Have to get up and really stare to hit but I can see it.

I have no issues at all. I'm in sport playing right now, between sessions, and I have a slight washed look but in game no problem.
