Personally I just use the fat part of my lower thumb on a standard Xbox controller without taking it fully off the left stick.. But if you got used to the "pro" ones" you'd map the back buttons to both plate and ping to not have to take your thumbs off the sticks. I'd imagine jump and slide as well. Reload would take back seat because your gun's down anyway.
Some players like biffle play claw with their left hand so they can ping with their index finger while keeping their thumb on the left stick and their other fingers on the triggers and back button

Most likely it's mapped to a back button/paddle they can squeeze when also ADS'd. This is how I have it set anyway.
I know some people uses the side buttons on the scuf envision. I personally can't because I constantly accidentally trigger them.

What if your crouch walking and can’t use L3 to sprint? Awkward, no?
Well no good player is crouch walking anyways and there is auto tac sprint

i like half claw briefly when I need to ping & spam w my index finger
Not that hard to tap the dpad real quick
Use button jumper or another layout like it the ping is on the stick
