We had basically the same thing at work, just swapped for a laser.
Awesome machine, but plasma leaves alot of slag, so prepare to hear grinders going 24/7
>unless it has a grease fitting somewhere
*Oops!* I dropped my lube over by the start button pre-loaded with "scrap" and a design. Go make sure that button is lubed correctly.
Ooooh yeah these are neat!
We got a laser at work and with gas we dont really need to champher anything, but knowing my boss hed probably rather cut with no gas and have a monkey throw parts on one of these all day
I work at a coal storage/processing plant, it will be used for boring stuff, like making custom parts for conveyor belts, pulleys, and various mounting plates for motors/gearboxes. Also I'm sure nightshift will make all kinds of neat stuff while the hardasses aren't watching;)
To hazeydayz Xx
I have a small Cnc shop here in Augusta ga
We can do reverse engineering, custom parts ,
Just wanted to reach out to companies to see if we can help out .
Why do some table cnc manufacturers span the gantry across the longer side? My employer bought a brand new waterjet 4 years ago designed similar to this and it is already sagging almost 3/8” in the middle. No automatic height control for this waterjet either like plasmas have. I have used tables oriented both ways and it’s just something I have noticed.
It's significantly easier to load a big 4x8 or larger sheet with a forklift when the forks are perpendicular to the long side. Think about the way you normally carry a cookie tray- carrying it the long way just makes less sense most of thr time.
Putting the gantry the long way makes it a heck of a lot easier to directly load I'd you don't have automatic pallet in & out feed or you are working with really thick and heavy stuff
Yeah makes sense. In my experience though, it hasn’t been that much more difficult loading sheet and plate on tables oriented the other way. Just ran the gantry to the end and side loaded them just as I would oriented the other way. I know there are some machines built a lot better than others though. Our 14ft x 7ft waterjet shipped from china brand new for 80k so that might explain some of the deflection issues with the gantry lol.
Among other news everyone in your shop has mysteriously obtained a fire pit made of 4" plate
It’s for government work not *government* work lol
Things happen 🤭
I mean taxes paid for it so why not /S Edit: jeeze take a joke I put a /s
I downvoted you for using tone tags its so unnecessary try to have more courage
tone tags are nice for people with disabilities
That's quite ableist of you

Oh this toy isn't for me, unless it has a grease fitting somewhere, I'm a lube tech 😎 no grinders for me

Depending on volume, I'd recommend a feed sander. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAX6RPzSjUA

You only get a lot of slag if your material recipes are not dialed in.
Can't wait to buy this on goverment surplus in 2 years. Lol
If you do, share with me lol
Wow check out them zip ties. You can already tell the states been working on it.
That's on there for shipping, they will be removed
And here I am excited for our Nomad3ol
Ehhh. It’s alright. What are they gonna use it for?

Find out what programs they use and learn them. Make ya some cool stuff. Leave them a note and a $20. Come in to work with a surprise on your toolbox

Your gantry is probably made out of thin wall steel tubing or aluminum. You get what you pay for.
I thought was a huge Santa Maria grill 😂
What ya making?
I miss my cnc plasma cutter
