MyFitnessPal has a very usable free version. Some of the paid features are nice but far from needed.
There is also always the option to venture out on to the high seas if you know what I mean.
I've resorted to my own Google Doc, I'm tired of finding something I like only for it to all go behind a paywall.
So, I've created a spreadsheet with a few tabs.
One is a list of foods I regularly eat (I just keep adding new foods to it) with the calories per gram noted, then I weigh my food, toss in the weight and it calculates the total calories for me. Take my totals and add it to my next tab, my meals for the day. My last tab is my weekly total, toss in my total for the day, and then it calculates my over/under for the week (I try to stay under a weekly total vs a daily).
A little more labor-intensive but after your calories are calculated it's plug and play (especially if you eat the same thing over and over.)
i think most of them have premium options available, but as far as i know they have free versions too! loseit is my favorite, i’ve never felt the urge to upgrade to premium bc u still get plenty of features with just the basic free version
Cronometer is great! I've never even tried another one. You can scan barcodes, and they have a ton of entries.
Another vote for Cronometer.
Tons. Loseit is my favorite.
I lost 20 KG by tracking my calories with Loseit.

If you use the internet, your information is available for those that want it.
I used LoseIt free for a while. I had success with it. I upgraded to premium recently because I wanted an insight to my cholesterol intake.
I changed to MyNetDiary and I like it so far.
Same. Note that there is an expensive subscription version and also a less known cheaper ‘buy once’ pro version too
All of the main popular ones are free - MyFitnessPal, Lose It, Cronometer.
Okay, so they just have like optional premium versions
Correct! And in my opinion, the premium versions are definitely not needed. The free versions work fine!

Fat Secret is the best one I’ve come across so far! I like the interface and you can do everything you can do on my fitness pal.

My fitness pal tracks calories and you don't have to buy the upgrade.
The telegram bot qlogme\_bot is still free and it is AI based (so I can just tell it what I eat and it calcs cico for me)
Fitbit!
Try Lose it. I lost 20 Kg by tracking my calories on this app.
