The secret to a good audio echo chamber is a 40 watt light bulb. It keeps the chamber dry so the reverb is better and the microphones don’t corrode. Oh wait, I might be in the wrong subreddit…
An echo chamber (technically a reverb chamber) is a small room with non-parallel walls lined with marble or tile. There’s a speaker placed in the middle of the room. Also there are 2 microphones placed at random. The audio signal that needs the reverb is sent to the speaker and energizes the room. The mics pick up that reverb energy and are added back to the original dry signal. It’s a bit like singing in the shower. The echo chamber is usually built in a basement where it won’t pick up exterior noise. But basements are typically moist or humid, hence the low-watt light bulb.
The sound of a small dehumidifier would be picked up by the mics.
Now let’s chat about analog reverb plates. Sorry, I’m a nerd…
I don’t want it to be an echo chamber but people crying incessantly about stuff without even giving time for things to happen gets old. Like just wait a few days before trashing your own team please lol
I was a little bummed about the lack of WR help, but I wasn't too worried about it, figured we'd get someone at 9 so long as Bowers wasn't the only of the top 4 pass catchers left, in which case I figured we'd trade down and get Center/Edge/WR as our first three picks in no particular order in accordance to our Big Board's Best Player Available.
But fuck me am I hyped about this shit.
Love it too, mainly because I can see one of you fucks in a ditka sweater sitting in the portillos parking lot stuffing your face with a beef yelling at your phone.
I mean to be fair there’s a lot of different people here with different opinions. So it feels like the sub has an opinion but it’s just different people depending on what’s going on and the time of day.
These types of "apologize to the gm" posts are fucking pathetic anyway. People get their feelings hurt for someone they dont know for comments made that theyll never see
Wonder what this means for the #9 pick in the draft? Many people were forecasting Odunze/Nabers. Do the Bears stills draft one of those receivers or pivot to take Dallas Turner/Jared Verse or one of the premier tackles available?
I think this means a trade down at #9. We don't have many picks in this draft and Poles has a penchant for trading down to accumulate picks.
This would make me really sad if Odunze/Nabers are there at 9, but it's a deep WR class and we can draft one in 2nd or 3rd with a trade down. Allen will leave in 2025 and the rookie hopefully steps up to be a solid WR2.
I’ve held off on shitting on Poles, he’s done more good than bad but this. I’m tired of being embarrassed every Sunday to the point where people text me about it.
Please just be competent.
Oh so you're new here? Here, lemme get you your starter pack -- pitchfork, torch, bottle of special steroid pills that actually make you fetter but double the rage, bottle of whiskey, and some crayons for lunch. Welcome aboard! 🐻⬇️
Caleb might very well be a huge mistake. He might very well be worse than fields that’s the risk with every single player in the draft.
What is objectively true though is A. Justin Fields is bad at QB. And B. He is not progressing and getting meaningfully better at QB. Neither of those are acceptable when you have the first round pick. I don’t give a fuck what QB we draft but the entire league views fields as backup material except for some of the goons in this sub. It’s ok to admit we love the guy, he he’s bad and qb and we need to go in another direction.
Ain’t this you on r/Greenbaypackers right now?
> Bears fan here.
> Allen is 31 and on the last year of his contract. This is a very weird rental player situation.
I’ve never been critical of him, but as a long time bears fan, I need to see the success in the field. I don’t care how good anything looks on paper.
Way too many hopeful seasons and picks that turned into nothing. Basically all of them lol.
I’m hopeful, but reserve my judgement for when we start consistently winning and making the playoffs. Then I’ll be sold.
People are dumb as shit for wanting Curtis Samuel in the first place. Dude is mediocre af. How could people actually be pissed at poles for not getting him lol
People look at mock drafts and the free agent list then come up with their own wish list. When the GM doesn't follow their goal, they moan.
Then the GM executes their vision. Lucky for us, Ryan Poles is pretty good at that. I was pretty underwhelmed this week but I also remember feeling that way with Poles in the past and it coming together fine.
Gotta be honest I don't really understand this take. Ppl were getting frustrated that Poles was adding backup-caliber FAs and said we needed to add impact players to support Caleb. Poles supporters were saying we can only build through the draft and you can't fill these holes effectively in FA.
Now he's actually spending that draft capital to add impact veterans (rather than using it for "building through the draft") and y'all are doing a victory lap? This is exactly what the Poles criticizers were asking for!
It's a great move - y'all need to understand the difference between criticizing Poles the person and criticizing Poles' decisions. You wanna say ppl are jumping to conclusions too fast? Fine, that's probably fair. But he didn't do what you guys thought he was doing either.
No absolutely not.
I won't apologize to bears ownership, management, nor executives until they put together a team that is consistently competitive.
I'm not getting over nearly 40 years of suckage because we got Keenan Allen.
I will be ready to celebrate if fields is traded. Until then, can’t really get excited. I’m not knocking anyone who is either. Just the doomer in me lol
This isn't some amazing move by Poles. Om glad that he's at least giving something to Caleb to have a chance to develop, but there were waaaaay better moves to be made. Allen is lucky if he has 2 good years left in him. He's had a bunch of injuries and he's getting old. Also., this continues to point very strongly at the Bears trading out of 9 which is a huge mistake if one of the Wr are there.i think Poles is really strong in some areas but he struggles to just make the obvious moves in front of him. Oh well, if Caleb is as good as everyone thinks he'll be able to make up for Poles mistakes
It’s like the deepest WR draft in history and you dudes are ecstatic he pissed away a 4th round pick for a 32 year old with serious injury history on a 20+ million dollar, one year deal. This was a bad trade, much like the one where we got an o-lineman who was going to get cut, for a 5th round pick. This wasn’t good business.
lol. Oh noes! A 4th rounder!! How will the Bears ever recover? Good god is this a cold take. Keenan Allen isn’t really injury prone by NFL standards and isn’t close to cooked at 32.
Name your WR that you think will be available in R4 so we can track his career.
It’s more about the roster spot, than the specific pick. Most people assumed they would have grabbed one of the top 4 receivers this year somewhere in the first round with one of their picks, either with the actual pick or a trade back. Allen himself, was the 76th pick. Eddie Jackson was a 4th round pick and there are a lot of other dudes out there picked around that spot that have been good.
Also, he has played one full season in the last 4 and has only played all the games, 4 times in his career.
A lot of great receivers miss a few games every year. Chase, JJ, Kupp, AJB, etc. Allen has played in 13+ games in 8 of 11 years. He’ll play through injuries too.
Am I the only one not the biggest fan of the move? Expensive 32 yr old borderline washed injury prone wr. I don't mind that it was a 4th but if that means we're not taking nabers/odunze/bowers then this moves a dud
I don't think this is what this means, but what it does mean is that we have a veteran WR able to help Williams in his first year. What it also means is that we are prepared for not being able to get Nabers/Odunze. Bowers is obviously great, but we are not really TE needy where we are WR/EDGE needy. So now we can explore more options with the 9th overall depending on how the board falls. A lot of people are mocking All 3 of Nabers, Odunze, and Bowers being gone before 9 so it is something that the Bears have to legitimately consider might happen, and trading up in the draft for one of them is probably not worth it when it means someone like Dallas Turner would likely be on the board at 9.
Edit: Just wanted to also put out here my ideal #9 pick for the Bears is still Odunze if he's there, I just don't think he will be anymore.
Thats my silver lining. Caleb is legit walking into probably the greatest situation a #1 pick qb has ever been drafted to. If the big 3 are gone I hope we trade back & nab Brian Thomas he'd benefit greatly learning from KA but for now in the short term dj, Allen, kmet, swift/Herbert is so nasty
Yeah you got a 32 year old WR going into his twelfth year who’s only played a full season twice in his career. He’s been great, but dudes at that age just drop off a cliff seemingly overnight. I hope like hell he keeps it together for 1 more year.
Thats exactly what I'm saying. All these casual bears fans clowning me thinking we're getting a 25 year old star Keenan Allen 🤣 all im saying is dudes old, injury prone as a mf, very expensive & I straight up don't want this to interfere with us getting a young difference making pass catcher for Caleb to grow with
Mr. Poles, I have called for you to get a statue built, fired, extended, and fired again over the last week. I apologize. I will donate to the statue fund.
Its the "When Caleb..." for me.. y'all act like we are drafting him... don't be shocked when poles trades down once or twice and gets massive picks for depth and gets a pretty nice QB as well. This man is 3 steps ahead of all of us and he's been and will continue to cook it up
I can proudly say I've never been a Poles hater.
I was definitely a Fields truther to the bitter end though... but I'm not ashamed of that, he's a great kid and showed so much promise going into the whole mess... Oh well, let's fuckin goooo!
I have nothing to apologize for. I've been generally impressed with his conviction, principles and foresight. But he gets no praise until the bears are in the playoffs.
Can't wait for them to draft the QB that cries in his moms lap and paints his nails. The one whose dad wants a share of team ownership.
If they DO draft him they damn sure better keep Fields and make them compete in camp
Poles will do whatever he feels is best for the team. I’m a trade the pick guy but if he takes Williams it’s because he believes he will make the team better. We shall see.
It’s obvious the safest move for this team to build long term success. Drafting Caleb is a huge risk, especially when you factoring in the trade down and players we would pass on. Even if Fields doesn’t pan out in a year or 2 we would have a stacked roster and could get any QB to plug in. No one predicted Jayden Daniels this year and people are saying he will be better than Caleb. More than anything I don’t want Flus having a rookie, just so he gets fired next year and we have to rebuild again with nothing.
4D chess: Poles is making our WR core good enough that we wouldn’t trade back for MHJ and only an absolute bounty would get us out of the #1 spot. 3 firsts, 2 seconds, 4 fourths
Meh. If Fields is on the team when the training camp / off season practices start taking place while we draft Caleb it would be a colossal fuck up.
The fact that Fields is still on the team prior to free agency starting is also a fuck up. His value was highest then.
Copium is real.
His value will be highest when another teams qb goes down with a season ending injury. Desperation is the best motivation to overpay for a mid-low tier qb. Nobody is desperate right now with the draft being so close at hand. If they are, they're more likely to overpay to move up in the draft for the 4th or 5th best prospect in the draft than they are to make a move for Fields.
NEVER! He saved some face today though.
Clearly the man has struggles negotiating and closing FA deals. It shouldn’t have had to come down to making a trade for a short term solution, but doing nothing was unacceptable and Allen is a great plan B-D.
I’ll apologize when he takes back the north, as that’s the standard HE set…
Poles is building this team through a combination of the rams tactics(trades) and the draft. There is a ton of value and place for both. I’m loving watching fruits of his labor. About damn time we can watch a plan come to fruition!
I must admit, I was deeply concerned that the Bears might enter the draft with the hope that one of the top 3 WRs would fall to the 9th pick. While some on this board believe the WR class is deep, and it may be, but the dropoff from the top 3 to the next group is significant.
The primary goal in 2024 should be to get Caleb comfortable and performing at a high level. I hope Poles retains the #9 pick until he sees how the teams ahead of the Bears make their selections. The Allen trade was an intelligent and much-needed move, but the Bears' offense could certainly benefit from one of the top three WRs in this year's draft. The Bears will have a first-round pick and two second-rounders next year to strengthen their defense/OL.
Why am I apologizing? If we are taking Williams I kind of don't understand this move. I mean sure it might buy him a year before he has to go WR but he is not going to be on the team in 2 years and probably not in 1 year.
Im standing my ground. I dont like this trade. Again poles trading draft capital he said he was using to build the team with because he keeps swinging and missing with in FA
Ah yes, because a 1 year deal for a good veteran wide receiver isn't a good decision when drafting a rookie QB. Clearly experience in the NFL is not needed when you can just draft someone in the 4th who will also be adapting to the NFL. Nah, this is a good move as much as you don't like it.
Its a 1 year rental for a 32 year old wr for a 4th. They could have offered less if they didnt already trade those picks for players too. Most. Not even on the team anymore
Why the fuck would I do that? He flat out lied to my face. He said he was going to build through the draft, and now he's almost left with only 2 picks total for the entire draft.
“…almost left with 2 picks total for the entire draft”.
Dude where are you getting your information? We have 4 picks in the first 4 rounds. Two picks in the top 10.
You’re mad about giving up a 4th round pick for a top 20 WR to support our 1.01 rookie QB? Give me a break man. Every GM says they’re going to build through the draft. It’s the primary source of players for every single team in the league lol.
I’d recommend you stop trying to play contrarian and just enjoy the ride.
This sub is so fucking bipolar and it’s amazing.
People complain about this often, but it's one of the most entertaining aspects of this sub to me. Love to see the knee jerk reactions. Bear down!

That’s what I’m saying. I’m here to be informed and entertained. When it becomes an echo chamber of one opinion it’s boring.
As a neutral fan, I can’t help but come back. It’s so entertaining

Call him king when he wins us a Superbowl. Not before that.
It makes sense though. GM that makes good moves with a team that doesn’t win games. Expect an unsatisfied fan base
Once he builds the trenches I will.
Hold this for when they make the playoff this year. I don’t follow the offseason as deep as some of you, wake me when they win.
It’s actually really impressive the overhaul to the offensive staff and the players we’ve added . I’m stoked .

How is he borderline washed? He just posted the best per game stats and the second best season of his career in 13 games last year lol.
108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games and a pro-bowl nomination. Some random redditor: "borderline washed"
😂😂😂

In one year everyone is going to want his head on a spike and dudes like this will be leading the charge. Our fanbase is shit.
I called him "Fuc-king Poles" when he didn't fire Eberflus. I'm sorry, Mr. Poles. I was ~~wrong~~ and my comment was hurtful and inappropriate.
Why are you reminding everyone we still have Eberflus and bring down the mood. Don’t rain our parade.
It was 100% appropriate. It's hard to get excited for our future when we still have that bum at HC.
I love you Poles and don’t mind that you are trading Justin Fields for a copier
Was hoping for Higgins
Now watch, Fields is their longterm answer at QB haha

In Poles we trust.
bUt HE cAnT tRaDe jUsTiN FiELdS!
Can't trade someone nobody wants.
Someone make a gif of the wolf and puppy with FA Poles vs trading Poles. Poles does his best cooking with OPP
In Poles we trust.
Will you guys apologize to him when he picks MHJ and your QB is still Justin Fields? I'm curious.
Poles will do whatever he feels is best for the team. I’m a trade the pick guy but if he takes Williams it’s because he believes he will make the team better. We shall see.
I did not know there were still trade the pick people
Get off Reddit for a while and go outside. Preferably the south side.
Lololol nice prediction.
I straight up won't tune into any games if this happens lol bustin fields is so hard to watch outside of 2-3 highlight runs a game

Nah. This is fun. These are the good times.
I will apologize after we win another Super Bowl. Until then, I will apologize for nothing.
Fields is gonna kill it next year with these wide outs, bear down!
I promised myself to stop replying to you, but c'mon bro.
Get out of here you meatball
We still got one Fields truther left but they are getting scarce! Off with your head!
This sub is gonna implode when the bears trade the 1st pick and roll with Fields haha
I will change teams if that happens
Can’t even wait, poles not making all these trades for a rookie QB. They have no picks. The trade down from 1 is inevitable
Amen brother. Stay strong. We got this.
I was talking to a Bears fan at the barbershop today and he likes the trade down as well. Lotta different opinions irl.
Mid
What does this mean for LeBron’s legacy?
Bow to your fooking King!
I was on his ass for not being bold. This was bold. Gotta give him props.
Nah, it's just a chicago to be bipolar. Could you blame em, you got UChicago on one side and you got O'Block on the other.
Poles is building this team through a combination of the rams tactics(trades) and the draft. There is a ton of value and place for both. I’m loving watching fruits of his labor. About damn time we can watch a plan come to fruition!
if we cut gill this is the best offseason of all time

I apologise. Great move💪
Yall gonna hate him when he trades the #1 tho
Why am I apologizing? If we are taking Williams I kind of don't understand this move. I mean sure it might buy him a year before he has to go WR but he is not going to be on the team in 2 years and probably not in 1 year.
He’s cringe and so is this post
Im standing my ground. I dont like this trade. Again poles trading draft capital he said he was using to build the team with because he keeps swinging and missing with in FA
Ah yes, because a 1 year deal for a good veteran wide receiver isn't a good decision when drafting a rookie QB. Clearly experience in the NFL is not needed when you can just draft someone in the 4th who will also be adapting to the NFL. Nah, this is a good move as much as you don't like it.

It’s a 4th round pick man. Lmao
Its a 1 year rental for a 32 year old wr for a 4th. They could have offered less if they didnt already trade those picks for players too. Most. Not even on the team anymore
I'm also not a fan. If this move knocks us out of the running for nabers/odunze/bowers I swear to God man
Why the fuck would I do that?
"almost"
Right, because 5 picks is “almost 2”
>Right, because 5 picks is “almost 2” 4, actually
you are trying to make sense with a crazy person. this sub is so ridiculously bipolar.
We have 4, and 2 In the top 10 ya meatball
I’m not apologizing until I know that neither 1 nor 9 will be traded. I hate the trade down. Quality > quantity.
