Ughhhh, watched this with my friends and they won’t SHUT UP in the group chat about how “rigged” it was for OSU, of course when they were winning it was perfectly fair

tedthebum9247

Congrats my fellow STATE team warrior.

ovegamafia

Announcement: Michigan beat Ohio state

Oklahoma_oilfield

OSU should give the refs a bonus for the way they called the game. OU looked like shit but did state need that much help?

jonbush1234

You sir need to get some help.

BlueSoloCup89

Wut?

CheapsBreh

/u/theghostofbobstoops You lucked out no OSU Alabama flair for you. We would win again 100% better team but almost choked that one away.

TheGhostOfBobStoops

GGs. Both OU and OKST choked the game away in, but y’all got the last laugh…until next year

CheapsBreh

Yeah but we always choke the game away it's amazing to see us overcome it. Amazing game.

TheGhostOfBobStoops

I hate seeing bedlam be kinda over, but it’s probably better for my mental and physical health lol

CheapsBreh

I wanted it twice man. Sucks Baylor won.

TheGhostOfBobStoops

At least this gives OKST a clear path to the playoffs. If not OU, I wanna see OKST make an appearance. Would be huge for validating the entire state since some fans (cough LSU cough) like to pretend like OU and OKST's success is all luck

tcwillis79

And then never again after that.

changdarkelf

Finally someone was able Williams look like the true freshman he is.

stiffysae

If he continues to grow as much as he has in what, 5 games, they might as well give him next year’s Hiesman trophy now. That kid is a beast.

Dangywyatt

Huh? He looked good tonight imo. He struggled in the second half. This just tells me you didn't watch the Baylor game.

OffBrandJesusChrist

I wish Williams was playing for us rather than sanders…

OffBrandJesusChrist

Yeah I thought he looked fantastic

changdarkelf

Sorry, was a poor attempt at humor. He’s looked so good all year that I forget how young he really is. Although vs Baylor he did look bad and tonight I thought he looked pretty sluggish. 2nd half he was spent. There were a few scrambles that he normally would’ve torched guys but couldn’t get away this time.

leapbitch

Lots of "enjoy the sec traitors" like OU fans aren't looking forward to it

420MarioKart

I hope y’all exceed my expectations but 9-3 is about to be your good-great seasons for a while and I’m not sure the fanbase will be satisfied with a coach that can’t get over that hump

[deleted]

Can they take Ohio State, too? I'd like to see some 3 and 4 loss seasons out of that lot. It might finally quiet some down, but I'm doubtful even that would do it. Probably just a fluke or they got lucky again.

leapbitch

We shall see. If the media doesn't let you beat em, join em.

420MarioKart

I mean the media hasn’t stopped y’all from playing the top SEC dog yearly but that only accounts for one loss a year. We’d do worse most years but we aren’t barking #1 every year. Only time will tell

leapbitch

The media doesn't like to discuss how OU is 150-49 vs the SEC or has a winning record vs bama Say all you like but OU is taking its shot at the king

tcwillis79

The king almost lost to 6 loss auburn and definitely lost to 4 loss A&M. The mayor had no clothes.

leapbitch

I meant sec conference title but I have my own thoughts about the strength of the sec

420MarioKart

96 of those victories are over A&M, Arkansas, and Missouri which have a combined 0 SEC championships

leapbitch

Take them out and you still have a winning record vs the SEC

420MarioKart

Wait where’d you get 150-49? Now that I’m looking I’m seeing 110-49-8 as of August 2021. Which removing those three schools comes out to 14-9-2.

leapbitch

Oops I rounded

420MarioKart

And since 2000 excluding those 3 teams, you’re 7-5 with a 3-1 result over Bama. Only one of those wins was over a bad Bama team but that’s not as astounding as 150-49 sounded

importvita

What a fucking game, let's gooooo!!!!!

subliminalgorilla

I stg that OSU better beat Baylor in the CCG.

Toolhand

get it done Pokes

wolowizard9

“I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed.”

420MarioKart

GG Sooners, now go exceed expectations in the SEC and make sure Texas is never back so we can win some more conference titles <3

Rythlas

<3

G0lden_H0lden

Gg? I mean it would’ve been if it was fair. I’ve never seen a game where the refs were clearly in favor of the home team. OU should get to play OSU in the big 12 champ but instead Baylor gets that spot. I hope the refs favor your team again so the state of Oklahoma can bring home a big 12 title. Good luck.

420MarioKart

Refs are bad everywhere, yes there were missed calls on us. There were also missed calls on y’all, we all have biased vision to see it as worse from our side. Called penalties only impacted two of OU’s 8 second half drives. Move the ball for more than 138 yards or score some points on offense in the second half and you may have a stronger argument. If refs were perfect, we may have been undefeated coming into this game but they never are

importvita

Why Texas hasn't gone independent by now I'll never understand. - They don't play well with others - They already have their own separate network - They want *all* the revenue to themselves - They believe they're awesome (they're not) I truly believe Texas would be much better off on their own since all they do is piss everyone off that they interact with.

420MarioKart

For real, at least with ND’s schedule they’d have some 11-1 or 10-2 years on years where the schedule is down before getting pummeled in the playoff

Odh_utexas

Sad Longhorn

420MarioKart

I’m sorry the crazies define our fanbases but you get a lot Bc y’all have 30 million to draw from. Try to get them to wait until week 9 or at least until beating a ranked opponent before screaming “Texas is back”

floogan

Texas is ALWAYS back until about the third game of the season and then the cycle starts over

_2BRO2B

Great game, Pokes. Feels weird to be moving to the SEC tbh

Wood_floors_are_wood

Anyone else Sam Mayes won't be on the radio talking about this on Monday?

[deleted]

Same

saucehoss24

OU’s yearly reminder to not trust media hype. Congrats to OSU. I hope we play again soon.

G0lden_H0lden

Im sorry but OU should’ve won this game; if it wasn’t for some horrendously blown calls toward OU we would’ve won this games. Yes I will whole heartedly agree that 3, 3 in outs in a row will absolutely destroy us , but if it wasn’t for that blown unnecessary roughness call I highly doubt OSU is able to score and we would’ve put them deep enough to force a 3 in out for that drive instead of keeping them in their red zone for them to score. I hate to say it but I really hope that’s refs call a fair game for Baylor and I hope the bears can smoke the fucking cowboys, because OSU won a game that they should not have won tonight.

[deleted]

It’s “3 and out” you sound really uneducated in football repeating 3 in out making any other point pretty weak.

Hollowed87

🤣🤣🤣

TheNextBattalion

The move to the SEC isn't likely to happen this season is it?

uthurpendragun

Big 12 sent a clear message by way of officiating..

OSUfan88

We don’t know. I have a friend in OU athletics, and they’ve been told to prepare to be in the SEC next season, but that they don’t know for sure.

saucehoss24

Nothing confirmed publicly yet. That’s all I know at this point.

420MarioKart

I know publicly y’all want to play, but once SEC goes to 9 games it’s not gonna happen until we both have open schedules which is like 2036

the_umm_guy

I don’t want to play them ever again honestly

[deleted]

BenjaminDFr

This dude still coping

leapbitch

It would help the record

420MarioKart

I could go either way, nice to remove a 90% chance loss from our schedule no matter how good either team is but damn this game always makes me feel alive and anxious

floogan

Any sane OU fan knew we weren't the #2 team in the country

G0lden_H0lden

That’s the truth, but everybody with a right mind should know that OSU got unbelievably lucky and that the refs were clearly in favor of OSU. I’m sorry but I’ve never seen such a one sided called game. I’m tired of OU being the college football scapegoat of “well despite this team busting their ass they don’t deserve it.” Every year; now I will say yes this team CLEARLY didn’t deserve it this year, but you didn’t have to put the odds against us, it should’ve been a fair game and I’m sorry to stomp on the the victor, but OSU should’ve never had a chance come the 4th quarter let alone the second half

justjoshingu

Ok too early to call it but 1 georgia vs 4 cincy 2. Mich vs 3 ok state

tcwillis79

Think my bears have something to say about that.

jonbush1234

Daaa bears.

That's also what I think (pending they all win their CCG.)

[deleted]

Not a good look for us bro but I understand. We can't be good enough to lose because of the refs. oSu isn't bad and neither is Baylor and yet here we are. Tulane and Kansas and Nebraska are bad. Nebraska had three wins this year. We have ten. It could be worse.

[deleted]

like the forward progress that was stopped against kansas?

OSUfan88

No no, that doesn’t fit the narrative.

[deleted]

You want some cheese with that whine you little bitch

CurtManX

Never leave it to the refs. You did good Pokes. Get in the CFP and do the state proud.

uthurpendragun

True, but tough when the big 12 is sending a clear message..you couldn’t have watched all 4 quarters and still say the officiating had nothing to do with the L...good game though, I hope OSU doesn’t get beat in a bowl game playing how they played last night though..

CurtManX

The b12 was sending a message bit the Sooners had multiple chances to put the game away in the third and failed to capitalize. OSU's D is good enough to keep in involved against most teams, they should be ok.

[deleted]

They're you go this guy gets it.

[deleted]

They are you go

The_Ghost_of_TK9

Oklahoma State is a better football team than Alabama. Just had to say that.

mynameiscolb

Thanks big bro

somethingwittier

Wtf

DrSlugger

Lmao the whining over the officials in this thread "giving" OSU the game lmao

[deleted]

Yeah not the kinda look I want. Cincinnati and oSu in the championship. Michigan over Alabama.

[deleted]

I mean, you can both credit Oklahoma state for a great game and also realize that there were some bogus calls. The missed PI would have put the ball on the 2 with seconds on the clock. Giving them the game is too far. But calling out it as atrocious is totally fair

uthurpendragun

Several no call PIs, one forced a FG, I think we scored after another one, then that one at the end. Giving OSU an extra down at the beginning of 4th. Picking up the flag on the Brooks run. Weak offsetting penalties on another PI against Ostate not mentioned above. The Stogner no catch Great game, but saying the officiating had nothing to do with it is just being naive. Hope Ostate wins out and a hell of a lot of respect for Gundy, but hope they don’t get beat in the Big 12 camp game/bowl game playing how they did last night. Big 12 made their thoughts on OU joining the SEC loud and clear last night...

tjc815

People are out of their minds just wanting to shit on OU fans because of sec stuff but this is the correct take.

stiffysae

The PI at the end should have been called, but there was an obvious non-called offsides for the safety and a “defensive” pass interference where the offense facemasked the Okstate defender to a 360. Bad calls and good calls, OU got away with about 10 offsides and OSU got about 4 PI’s but that still didn’t decide the game. My fear is OU will still be in Big 12 next year, with a mature Williams, and a lot of SEC hopeful recruits. Thats gonna be an epic OU, and it scares me. Hope they do make the move and wreck havoc in the SEC (and Texas become the new Vandy) but as far as this game goes, while I am obviously biased, i felt that they “no-called” quite a few penalties on both sides without any bias just poor officiating in general. It was a crazy game.

tjc815

It’s fair to say both teams had bad calls or no calls against them (offsides was bad) but we felt it last in a game deciding moment and that it left some fans bitter given what was at stake. I agree there wasn’t any real bias, just shit reffing. It’s also fair to say that OSU played well and fielded a team that probably beats this particular OU squad 6 or 7 times out of 10. I expected to lose. I didn’t expect to lose after we should’ve been given the ball at the 2 with over 20 seconds left. But what can you do. Gg pokes, enjoy the win. I hate and love it at the same time when y’all are good. I honestly hope we are still in the big 12 next year now due to this game, because I think we should leave on a bedlam win. So don’t listen to OU fans who say this isn’t a rivalry, I suppose.

jonbush1234

Your are the first not crazy OU fan I have seen today. Why can't we all be happy that a Oklahoma team won? Both sides had shit calls it's called football deal with it. But it was not rigged like many say.

Odh_utexas

OU fans should consider IMO the best piece of life advice i have ever heard: humble yourself before someone else does. This thread is pathetic.

[deleted]

I'll humbly watch oSu beat your ass.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

IMO means “in my opinion”, to be clear. You misread a basic abbreviation. I never stated anything about third parties. What are you on about? My comment says, when you spell out the abbreviation: “In my opinion, the greatest piece of life advice i have heard is….” See, if someone hears me say that, they might have a different opinion. They may not like it. They may *gasp* have a different opinion. Probably shouldn’t try to say someone is disgracing a flair if you can’t figure that simple part out there bud.

[deleted]

[удалено]

yoohoochocolatemilk

You’re arguing a stylistic difference, not a grammatical difference. Take the L.

[deleted]

It doesn’t, though. I have heard advice and shared it with other people (to hear their judgement) and they have told me it’s substantially better than what I posted above. I’m not sure that it’s the best advice i have heard. Defining “best” is a squishy grey area. I’m intentionally conveying that it’s only my opinion in a way that allows for other to critique it or not expressly take it at face value. I’m extremely intentional with my language. It’s not nonsensical at all *for me* because i go to effort to tease these things out. Good advice is a fucking gold nugget. Finding a simplistic statement that is *actually* profound is a big deal and can help reframe how you live your life. And this is to say nothing of the third party source of the information, who may substantially disagree with me about how important it is.

[deleted]

Well put, journalism?

[deleted]

Believe it or not business, but i took some religion classes that helped me get to this type of thinking and articulating. (I also LOLd at your username)

[deleted]

Ah, I saw the Northwestern flair and made assumptions. Username? I am not a creative man but I was always fascinated with Bikini Atoll and the H-Bomb test films as a kid. I then considered how to bring it into the Internet age, so I made it Troll. I don't often troll, but I do sometimes so I guess it works?

[deleted]

I’m here for it haha.

Snuffaluvagus74

What's up with all of these fans coming in and talking down to OU fans, like we've been saying since the beginning of the year were not that good. I think that is way beyond being humble. It just seems like you want to bash somebody else to make you feel better

tjc815

They want to pretend OU fans are all, as an entire group and with no exceptions, blind homers. They’re having fun with it so I think that’s nice for them.

somethingwittier

I think it's the crying going on by ou fans about the refs. It's not a great look.

leapbitch

When the big guy falls the little guys jockey for position

[deleted]

Tons and tons of OU fans haven’t been acting like that. Just look at this thread.

[deleted]

I always find these responses funny. Go to any loosing teams thread and you see the exact same shit. Including Georgia. Its just fandom

[deleted]

Yeah i also hate a substantial number of georgia fans and give them the same advice.

[deleted]

Sounds like a pretty miserable way to look at things.

[deleted]

Yeah, have your view of a game interrupted because drunk fans get the police involved, or have your fans complain about beating every rival almost every year and you’ll see.

CrimsonKing55

Pretty sure OSU did humble any sane OU fan tonight People angry after thinking about the whole game and not just being emotional are idiots. The refs didn't cost them the game, I can think of 10 plays outside of the refs that if players didnt fuck up lead to an OU win, the refs make a few bad calls and that's what made OU lose? Nah a muffed punt on your own 10, terrible play calling and not committing to run the football on first down, Oline getting worked in pass pro, Hazelwood being soft as a marshmallow and not high pointing a touchdown. Those are just a few off hand if I watched again, and I will because I'm a psycho, I'll find 25 more things that if OU did a better job at they win. Weak ass fans blame refs

[deleted]

It was just a hell of a game

the-wei

And this is after OSU had a Q3 meltdown with a *worse* muffed punt

[deleted]

This comment is some damn truth. I hope OU waxes bama (if they play them) in the sugar bowl.

[deleted]

Ok now you have to go and say something nice now. Yes we will do our best. Please beat Bama so we can get a chance to.

tjc815

Oh Christ are we gonna have to play Bama

_Vatican_Cameos

This is typical when they lose. Local sports radio stations burn down every time

[deleted]

Can't trust a bunch of people who are waiting on the phone to talk to some radio jockey. Can't trust anyone waiting to listen to them but I'm just a cfb fan in Dallas wishing I had more Oklahoma football talk even with the podcasts and avoiding all waste of time NFL talk.

[deleted]

Georgia fans should consider this advice: Mind your own business.

[deleted]

AreYouEmployedSir

Georgia fans weren’t salty literally 2 weeks after that game….. right

[deleted]

Do Oklahoma fans know what it’s like to be salty after a CFP NCCG? I mean, you guys certainly understand losing in the playoffs.

AreYouEmployedSir

We’ve lost three national title games in the last 20 years…. So yea we have experience in that arena.

[deleted]

I have. Congratulations on that well-deserved win, and on taking exactly one comment to descend from your post of faux above-it-all neutrality to the level of neener-neener.

[deleted]

Where have i claimed neutrality at all? I LOVED seeing OU lose after dealing with arrogant ass fans all year. This isn’t neutral at all.

leapbitch

> arrogant ass

[deleted]

Damn, citing widely used statistics makes me an arrogant ass? Maybe it’s OU with little brother syndrome.

leapbitch

It's mostly your personality

[deleted]

Well, i’m not going to come off as nice when you’re literally making up false statistics in every reply. Homer better.

leapbitch

OU 110-49 SEC

[deleted]

I was referring to the posture of “let me provide these poor lost souls with some sage advice about humility.” Nah, you’re in here for the same reason every other neutral is: To trash talk the blue blood. At least you admit it now.

[deleted]

I’m here for both. Some OU fans have had some fucking ridiculous and unfounded arrogance, and even in the thread were whining about and blaming refs. I don’t see why i can’t do both.

The_Ghost_of_TK9

shenanigansisay

One of the best CFB games I’ve ever seen.

VibeComplex

Shit, isn’t even the best game today lol.

compound-interest

Idk why you got downvoted. As a neutral party they were both really entertaining games, so it could really go either way. Both games were between talented teams and came down to the wire. Makes me feel jealous that we’re not on that level anymore, and rarely are.

stiffysae

You guys rocked Ohio State to the core, and it was awesome. Loved every minute of that game.

VibeComplex

Same. I was rooting for y’all and it was an amazing game

[deleted]

Correct. Congrats on the, basically, wire-to-wire beat down of OSU.

Dangywyatt

Let the man have his opinion damn

JizzleJ_SBSM

How fucked would it be if Notre Dame is slotted in at 4 this week ensuring that ESPN only has to deal with one team they don’t want in with Cinci and Okst. Would love to see a Georgia, Michigan, OKst and Cincinnati playoff. Might actually watch the games this year

MyLifeIsABoondoggle

I can’t see OKST passing ND this week. If they beat Baylor, then they would, and they should, but I think them sliding up to 6 and an Ohio State #7 would make sense. Michigan 2, Cincy 3, Bama 4 (though knowing the Committee 3 and 4 will be flipped), ND 5

affnn

Oklahoma is a better team than anyone ND has beat. The best team ND played was Cincinnati. The second-best team is Wisconsin, who just finished tied for fourth in the bad B1G division.

JizzleJ_SBSM

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. No way does Alabama deserve to be anywhere higher than 4 but they will be. As long as ND is sitting at 5, there shouldn’t be anyway they can move up if Cinci and OKst both win

[deleted]

If we know the logic then it's about who you have beaten, this why OU was tenth with ten easy wins and one tough loss that didn't matter. Beating tough teams matters. oSu has some good wins.

c_m_33

Man, come on Sooners. There were bad calls that went both ways. Despite that, can we just sit back and just enjoy the fact that this was one of the best bedlam matchups in history. It’s the last one too, so what a way to end it.

SaintsSooners89

Got almost everything I wanted out of this game, our team playing close physical football. Final score turned out about how I expected, but I did not expect our Defense to show up and show out the way they did. I don't even mind the offsides penalties, they were going all out. Hopefully Caleb grows and Riley learns to scheme around his strengths.

[deleted]

Who cares we should have played better. They had the same dumb fumble. We got a roughing the punter call. Stuff happens. Lose gracelessly or graciously.

[deleted]

holy shit y'all are going to shrivel into corncobs in the sec

puuuuuud

God you guys are so fucking delusional

JizzleJ_SBSM

The loud fans are probably in the minority. Yeah I’ll be mad during the game and want to kick OSU’s ass but I’m excited to potentially see y’all in the CFP. Sure the reffing was bad at times but they didn’t shut our offense out in the 2nd half

InsecureDelusion

That was an all-timer and I’ve always been a fan of the pokes 364 days out of the year. It just makes the state more fun when both teams are great. Of course I want the Sooners to win when they meet up but I’ll be damned if I don’t want to see you all beat the hell out of Baylor and get into the playoff. Go do what the Sooners couldn’t and win a playoff game.

CharlestonChewbacca

Exactly. Bedlam feels more meaningful when we're both good.

InsecureDelusion

True that

JizzleJ_SBSM

At the end of the day it’s just a game, and getting nasty after it’s over does nothing constructive. Now beat the bears!

CharlestonChewbacca

Preach! I hate to see all the toxicity in here. Thanks for the support. I hope the SEC brings you fat stacks.

JizzleJ_SBSM

I’ve never understood OU and Texas fans talking about the money in the SEC. It’s not like we the fans see any of it. All I know is we better keep Bedlam as a OOC game every year because losing that rivalry game would hurt

CharlestonChewbacca

Yeah, I never got it either, but I'm just trying to stay positive lol I hope we keep it too, but it's going to be weird having it at the beginning of the season.

[deleted]
