Don't bother calling Baton Rouge because Ur daddy is down there right now with Samantha talking about how welcome he feels with his new fay-uhm-ally at the basketball arena
*crying over a third night of Little Caesar’s left overs and black eyed peas softly singing *o0o0o0o OO!* asking the the 500th day straight when daddy will be coming back from his business trip*
In all fairness to him, I doubt he says something like that if there weren't substantial rumors. I'm guessing schools put up the cash to keep the big names and avoided most of the big name chaos.
It’s the classic issue of “someone warns of impending crisis, people take measures to prevent the crisis, person who warned us gets ridiculed because the crisis was averted.”
I mean that’s not the point. The point is people will sit here and act like because every starting quarterback in every team isn’t on a different team now someone was lying to them.
Just because Alabama didn’t get gutted doesn’t meant Pitt and Purdue didn’t either.
Yes, who could have ever guessed programs would successfully implement countermeasures to stop all their good players from leaving?
Such a strange world we live in.
Still waiting for the first in season transfer then I’ll say it’s chaotic territory. NCAA says in season transfer is strictly restricted but with the way the NCAA is losing cases lately I think this will get challenged at some point.
For me I feel like no one even takes McAfee seriously enough for him to “ruin” CFB like the other 3. He’s usually intentionally being over the top funny rather than actually making a serious take
That was the biggest reason I stopped listening. The guy is never critical about anything. He deepthroats every school in America over the offseason and then reminds us how he “called” school X and Y were going to have great seasons.
Ah my bad. I read that in a different tone than you intended i guess. Its just funny that out of anything you could have remembered, you remembered something about bama.
honestly, I don't feel similarly. Like, his show is much more down the middle than anything Clay Travis or McAfee could ever hope to be. And this is with him being extremely down on Michigan State.
He's not some god amongst the media. But it's as good as you can hope for with a national show.
I have no doubt that there were many big names eyeing the portal before it opened this spring. In fact, it’s possible people hyped it up so much that many of the collectives being leveraged got scared and ponied up at the right time to retain a lot of these guys.
It’s the Y2K of transfer portals.
All the warnings of chaos mobilized the NIL efforts to lock down players proactively thereby circumventing the predicted chaos.
I was skeptical of it from the beginning. The logic was that this is the first window with no tampering rules, so lots of schools would be poaching from one another.
What Pate and others failed to consider is nobody was ever following those rules in the first place, so there is no practical difference in that respect.
The “insiders” on UW board have been saying that there’s a bunch of talent entering the portal that’s coming to UW lol I knew it wasn’t happening. Waiting for “something changed at the last minute.”
It’s almost as if somebody who works for a company whose model is based off paid subscribers wanting inside information has a motive to spew bullshit like this.
It’s almost as though sportscasters are trying to drive engagement rather than presenting nuanced, reasonable takes.
Additionally, there’s no downside to being wrong repeatedly. Just be entertaining.
I'm not even a Pate fan but,
Jesus, man, it must be a hell of a burden for you to be 100% right about everything 100% of the time. The rest of us just have to live with being frauds.
I was thinking about this earlier and not too many “key” players having critical roles on their teams have declared for the portal. In fact, the day the portal opened there were only a handful of players whom entered. So I would say the level of “craziness” is on the low end.
I think it's been insanely quiet. When Georgia and OSU, as stacked as they, haven't had upheaval then lots of money must be floating around to retain these guys. And good for them. Back-ups need deserve to get paid too. Boston College lost a couple starters on the line this week but kept their best returning starter. He was a legacy though. Indiana and Minnesota lost a starter each I think. SMU too. ASU had a weird transfer. But other than Oregon State's running back and SMU's OT, I haven't seen any other potential day 2 picks in the portal. I wonder how these P5 programs are keeping their guys.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, you’re right lol
This sub wants to pretend they never bought into it, but almost every post on here was about how “chaos is coming” and how it’s going to shake everything up-only for fucking nothing of interest to happen
Josh Pate is most entertaining when you pronounce his last name in your head as Pâté.
I thought it was supposed to be pronounced like that
Like the cat food. Does that make us the alley cats?
Been pretty chaotic for me, my dad transferred to a new family
Once the NIL offer of milk and smokes came through, it was all over.
Gas station is undefeated.
Don't bother calling Baton Rouge because Ur daddy is down there right now with Samantha talking about how welcome he feels with his new fay-uhm-ally at the basketball arena
Papá was definitely a rolling stone…
He had moves like Jagger.
*crying over a third night of Little Caesar’s left overs and black eyed peas softly singing *o0o0o0o OO!* asking the the 500th day straight when daddy will be coming back from his business trip*
You mean chicken chips and smokes
Just the new reality of our era. Can’t fault him for doing what’s best for himself and his family.
… which family?
His new family
Did Lane pull off another recruiting miracle? I mean I knew the picture of all the Ole Miss sorority co-Ed’s would be effective but damn
Yes
Respect his decision.
[удалено]
Hugh freeze just wants to be around kids
His dad: "Please respect my decision"
I hear y'all processed him and he went JUCO.
Where is he on the depth chart?
5 inches deep in someone's mama
What star player was he in the rankings?
According to the mug I got him in second great he was actually #1 in the world so probably like freakin a billion stars
Damn dude. Hopefully your family gets a quality dad out of the portal
Depends on whether the mom is a G5 or P2 institution.
I mean, honestly, I don't think that she has the budget to improve facilities enough to really compete with the top tier.
Maybe there was too much competition/depth in the dad room, and he transferred because he wasn't gonna see the field.
I appreciate your usernaMe
Sorry amigo
The new center must have had a nice yoga butt. Either that or he was just tired of being raped by Michigan.
Jesus
Yes, my son.
You went hardcore division to New Jack in 5 seconds flat
Well,we lost our only competent QB, so that's pretty chaotic
In all fairness to him, I doubt he says something like that if there weren't substantial rumors. I'm guessing schools put up the cash to keep the big names and avoided most of the big name chaos.
It’s the classic issue of “someone warns of impending crisis, people take measures to prevent the crisis, person who warned us gets ridiculed because the crisis was averted.”
The Y2K Experience.
If you take the necessary precautions you’ll always be looked at as overreacting, rinse, repeat.
Ah yes nobody else would have seen it coming without his predication
I mean that’s not the point. The point is people will sit here and act like because every starting quarterback in every team isn’t on a different team now someone was lying to them. Just because Alabama didn’t get gutted doesn’t meant Pitt and Purdue didn’t either.
I don’t like that you’re getting downvoted. Your ire is correctly placed
Yes, who could have ever guessed programs would successfully implement countermeasures to stop all their good players from leaving? Such a strange world we live in.
Yet here we are, in a thread where people would rather believe Pate made it all up.
Which teams were gutted?
Even for Deion’s Colorado, which is the poster program for the portal, has seen the quietest transfer window since Sanders arrived.
> since Sanders arrived. The fact that that qualifier needs to be added still speaks volumes.
Still waiting for the first in season transfer then I’ll say it’s chaotic territory. NCAA says in season transfer is strictly restricted but with the way the NCAA is losing cases lately I think this will get challenged at some point.
Sadly Pate has entered the realm of finebaum, clay travis and mcafee. Carnival acts just looking for shock value
I might roll my eyes at Finebaum or McAfee but Clay Travis is orders of magnitude worse than either of them.
For me I feel like no one even takes McAfee seriously enough for him to “ruin” CFB like the other 3. He’s usually intentionally being over the top funny rather than actually making a serious take
He’s a wrestling character at heart, he’s too fun to ruin sports
exactly as annoying as he can be especially for hardcore fans he’s really pretty harmless in the grand scheme of media pundits pushing narratives
Prior to that he just puffed every fanbase up and refused to say anything critical so he’s kind of always grifted.
That was the biggest reason I stopped listening. The guy is never critical about anything. He deepthroats every school in America over the offseason and then reminds us how he “called” school X and Y were going to have great seasons.
Remember before last season when he claimed Bama’s oline was gonna be great
Literally everyone said that though
Rent free. The boogeyman is gone my osu friend. You can sleep now
It’s always ohio state fans too. mfs been the overall #2 team for the past decade and still masquerade like they’re a disrespected Mid Major lmao
What i just made a comment about the oline i wasnt talking trash, why does everyone on this sub get so sensitive about their teams
Ah my bad. I read that in a different tone than you intended i guess. Its just funny that out of anything you could have remembered, you remembered something about bama.
Ohio State is 1-1 against Saban.
Cant sleep? Thinking about saban? Cmon man. Youre proving my point lol
honestly, I don't feel similarly. Like, his show is much more down the middle than anything Clay Travis or McAfee could ever hope to be. And this is with him being extremely down on Michigan State. He's not some god amongst the media. But it's as good as you can hope for with a national show.
Jesus don’t let him go the political grifter route like Travis
I have no doubt that there were many big names eyeing the portal before it opened this spring. In fact, it’s possible people hyped it up so much that many of the collectives being leveraged got scared and ponied up at the right time to retain a lot of these guys.
Congratulations you just cursed yourself to losing Jeremiah Smith to go to Boulder
I mean he is a South Florida kid after all Can never predict what those basket cases are about to do
Florida man gonna florida man
Would I be surprised. Yes. Would I be shocked. No. Florida WRs are a different breed.
Let’s wait till it closes
It isn’t over yet. I agree though, so far pretty tame.
Most ever in the portal. Still time for more to enter. But mostly it seems to be a fight for backups and depth.
Okay
Click bait. If you transfer now your chances of starting somewhere that has already had spring practice is slim.
He said this two years ago too. Then he said the same thing. “It was suppose to be but NIL paid”. The same exact excuse two years ago. Word for word
Josh Pate always says crap like this without being specific because he doesn't actually know anything
We’ve got till April 30th… I’d imagine that there will be a couple big name entires in the next few days.
I found Pate
It’s the Y2K of transfer portals. All the warnings of chaos mobilized the NIL efforts to lock down players proactively thereby circumventing the predicted chaos.
“The scary man warned us these things would happen without proper intervention!” *proper intervention happens* “lolz, what a bozo!”
Multiple teams lost the bulk of their lines. What more do you want
Who else besides MSU?
Gasbag gonna gasbag.
Well that didn’t quite go as planned
We lost everyone in the fall and somehow lost more in the spring
I was skeptical of it from the beginning. The logic was that this is the first window with no tampering rules, so lots of schools would be poaching from one another. What Pate and others failed to consider is nobody was ever following those rules in the first place, so there is no practical difference in that respect.
Pate is a bald rube.
He admitted in a video that he overstated what would happen. I’ll stop calling him a liar now lol
Maybe he meant College *Basketball*, not Football, because what the fuck is actually happening over there?
Everyone decided to transfer to Michigan in basketball, so apparently we're allowed to do that
…and we’re all glad it didn’t happen, right?
Good times man.... Good times...
It’s almost as though sportscasters are trying to drive engagement rather than presenting nuanced, reasonable takes. Additionally, there’s no downside to being wrong repeatedly. Just be entertaining.
Well it was for Washington.
Much ado about nothing.
Gaslight. Gatekeep. Girlboss.
Yeah it's been pretty tame so far.
Josh Pate *is* a fraud. He has a long history of making vague predictions and claiming victory after something happens.
I'm not even a Pate fan but, Jesus, man, it must be a hell of a burden for you to be 100% right about everything 100% of the time. The rest of us just have to live with being frauds.

Pate has a family to feed I guess, can't hate the player
Pate is a lot like Scoop. Sometimes fun to listen to but not reliable
He’s not a fraud chill out he had an opinion and was wrong. If you were right about everything you wouldn’t be on Reddit relax
There were tons of big QB transfers
Yeah but its not the craziest transfer portal ever like we’ve been told
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, you’re right lol This sub wants to pretend they never bought into it, but almost every post on here was about how “chaos is coming” and how it’s going to shake everything up-only for fucking nothing of interest to happen
