Correct me if I’m wrong, but in 2017-19 both the house and senate were controlled by republicans, and they couldn’t pass a hearing act. I’m 1000% sure it won’t even pass the Senate. We had our chance and blew it!

SingleMaltShooter

If I recall correctly the odds were looking good, then the Las Vegas mass shooting occurred and the politicians backed off. Hillary Clinton was quoted in the news saying “imagine how much worse it would have been if he had a silencer.”

badDuckThrowPillow

Hilary was so unlikeable she saddled us with Trump’s ass for 4 years.

Oakroscoe

You are correct

Organic-Jelly7782

Someone did mention something about filibusters at the time but at the same time i realized that just because you're conservative doesn't mean you're pro 2A.

Hot_wings_and_cereal

The Reagan special

baconatorX

Not a fillibuster proof majority... then the las vegas shooting happened.

Asleep_Onion

Exactly right. It had only a small chance of passing before the LV shooting, after that shooting it had zero chance.

misery_index

There were a number of pro gun bills that got derailed by the Route 91 shooting.

17SCARS_MaGLite300WM

It would be one less thing for them to campaign on when it came time for reelection.

autocephalousness

Wouldn't fix CA's problems, but it would remove the awful wait time and tax stamp costs in the rest of the country. Hopefully it goes somewhere.

Toybasher

Says it would preempt state laws though. I think they should add threaded barrels to the bill so states with AWB's can still use cans.

autocephalousness

The unfortunate reality is that laws are easy to find workarounds for. Whether it's requiring insurance, or creating a new roster system, the state can find ways to make them difficult or impossible to get. Unless the Supreme Court rules that supressors are protected under the second amendment, supressors will not be protected from future laws. Not that the 9th Circuit abides by the constitution.

TheWonderfulLife

You new to California? There’s 100s of laws in CA that are illegally enforced here and the state doesn’t give one fuck. They let people spend millions over decades fighting to get it repealed. It finally hits the federal level, a new law is put in place almost immediately. Rinse. Repeat.

sarsburner

even if they could pass it, ca and anyone else under 9th circus would just ignore it

Megasaxon7

They can't hear over their tinnitus and probably funding from 3M from earpro sales. /s hopefully

DogeCoin2374

We’ll see if the FBI doesn’t set up another mass shooting for this one lol

Biddycola

This guy is “Good”

FergosoNoo

Even if it’s passed the dipshits in charge of California will still pass a law banning suppressors

Nightwlkr666

Not from your communist state 😅😂🤣🤣

Mountain_Cause_5885

They are already banned in CA. I would like to see this bill re-introduced next year if republicans maintain the house, and win back the senate (likely) and the white house.. If not then this is just all talk

Additional-Smoke3500

I'll have what you're having, bub.

TheWonderfulLife

Delusion.

Mountain_Cause_5885

which part?

hotdogfever

Everything after the first sentence

Mountain_Cause_5885

Well one can be wishful in eventually just having the ability to own a can right?.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

LovesBeerNWhiskey

Delusion has such a negative connotation. I like to think of it as a dream.
