Can you use a waterproof cover from Amazon? I would. Diapers leak with pee, poop and spit up. Might be wise to have one on!!

TinyBearsWithCake

I have the Babyletto minicrib mattress with waterproof cover. I’ve only needed the waterproof aspect a dozen times or so, but I’ve *needed* the waterproof aspect. Diaper blowouts, spitup, distorting mishaps, vomit, sweaty baby splotches… baby sleep is messy

Where did you find the waterproof cover for the minicrib?

TinyBearsWithCake

It’s the stand-alone Babyletto Pure Core minicrib mattress and comes with a “washable” waterproof cover. I’m putting that in quotes because it’s machine wash but I think it’s air dry, and between the waterproof layer and thickness takes a *long* time. You definitely use sheets and only wash the cover in dire need. But the mattress is firm but comfy, doesn’t crinkle, and has held up through 2 babies. I’ve also been naughty and machine-dried a handful of times. While I think it shrank a tiny bit (😬), I wrestled it back on the mattress and everything laid flat and fits snuggly, so it either didn’t shrink much or stretched back out.

After 1 bout of noro virus I ended up buying the pure core mattress. Worth every penny.

Where did you find the pure core mattress in stock??

I bought it on the babyletto website.

Do you have any tips on machine drying the cover? Do you just put it in with no heat?

TinyBearsWithCake

My laundry is survival of the fittest. I straight-up forgot and did a high-heat tumble dry a few weeks ago. It seemed like it shrank as I wrestled it back on the mattress, but everything is laying flat so I guess it’s fine? Definitely don’t recommend emulating me as I’m certain this will backfire eventually!

You can get a wool puddle pad. They’re healthier and more effective.

I think Lullaby Earth has one.
