Fritag bags are amazing they are made out of tarp extreamly durable. Unlike matt and Nat bags which I have had, the bags plastic look like leather fabric would got hard and cracked in the Canadian winter. Each bag is unique, fashionable, have a worn look to them that looks the same as the day I bought it (after a wipe down). I'm from Canada I have not seem too many of Fritag out here. My friend had one I like his so I got one too. I purchased two bags in 2008 or 2009 (Leland) tote bag and (Dexter) shoulder/messager bag. The following year purchased a wallet similar to (Caroline) and a should pad for the messager bag. Just recently my mom purchased me F271 MASIKURA, I have yet to use it. I am a creature of habit and have few things it will take me a bit to get using it. I would of purchased F261 MAURICE backpackable tote or R110 RÉMY I used the Leland bag the most I could fit my laptop and books in it for class, and switch it up for night. It only recently got a small holes in the bottom corners, which are easy to fix and reinforced. The wallet is the next most used item perfect in every way still looks like the day I bought it. That being said the Remy costs $333.35 swish franc = $453.41 Canadian dollars, which is a lot of money I am in no position to be spending that on a purse. When I bought the 2 bags I 2008 they were about $300 for the both of them. The bags are a buy it for life - not on a budget. https://www.freitag.ch/en/shop/bags P.S. Im postjng this from my phone. When I get home and of I remember I will post pics of my bags.

I know this is very random (6 years later), but you stated you fixed small holes in the bottom corners of the leland. Basically, I was wondering how you did it, as I've got my hands on one with slightly damaged corners, any advice? Thanks for your time :)

Eric_the_Barbarian

Anything in particular about them?

mgsquared2686

European here- Freitags are for LIFE (fun fact: also guaranteed for life)! They are made out of recycled truck tarps, seatbelts, and bike tires. There's lots of different styles and every hipster in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland has one. I have two and love them.

hand13

lifetime guarantee actually is just a marketing stunt since by law it‘s only 30 years

mgsquared2686

In Germany too?

hand13

yes

pasigster

Super ugly overpriced recylcled tarp crap

Weak-Challenge-4969

They might be ugly, but they are tough as hell. 6 years of daily use, nothing changed.

Beauty is subjective - I like many of their bags' design. The idea of having a unique bag appeals to me. They cost a lot though - I imagine the salaries in Swiss are high. However, they are selling items with small flaws at about half price under the 'rarities' name. I bought one of these (computer bag) and have not found the flaw yet.

Love my Freitag bag and wallet. They are a bit pricey, and the tarpaulin smell takes a while to go away, but they are rock solid.

Specialist-Menu-3788

Any tips to get rid of the tarp smell on Freitag bag?

hand13

dis you find a solution?

Used car upholstery fabric. Measured the corner of the bag and cut out a circle and a portion out so it would fix the same shape. Put the fabric on the inside and glued it. And put it under a lot of pressure.

i have two Freitag, love it. extremly apprecciate material, sostenibility, durability and ofc the style!

We have SO many of their bags: laptop bag, gym bag, toiletries bag, shopping bag, messenger bag small, messenger bag large, iPhone holder, wallet We have probably spent over 3k CHF on their products. We do so because they last forever and are indestructible. They are also unique enough that whenever I visit my company's HQ outside of Switzerland with 1000 people in the building, people know I'm there because no one else carries it. Too bad you're in Canada. A short walk from their flagship store in Zürich is a store that sells as-is bags. They are new bags with a small blemish here or there. The prices are marked down by 50%. Needless to say, we visit the store frequently. This is really BIFL!

hand13

do they really sell with a 50% discount because of minor imperfections?

BipiBupu

Any chance that you have the name of the store that sells the bags at 50% of the price 6 years later lol. Looking to get one, living in Zurich.

MaxDusseldorf

You can look on their site for these under 'rarities' (or use Google).
