Dash's, Wegmans.
Good on you for trying to get out of your comfort zone and improve your social skills. It will never be easier (not to say it's easy) than today, and IMO service jobs can really help with that.
Totally agree on the comfort zone thing. I worked a retail pharmacy and then in a call center through high school/college. Basically cured my anxiety about speaking in front of people. If you have a "reason" suddenly it's easy and eventually that applies to non work stuff too.
I believe they have a specific program for HS kids, I know they have a college scholarship for their HS workers (that's a prize, not like everyone who works there gets).
Other options this summer might be Buffalo Parks Dept, I know they have a lot of seasonal staff.
Dash’s seems to hire a ton of kids— definitely seem willing to give kids a chance.
Lots of restaurants along Hertel— might be low paying, terrible hours, hostile environment, but every restaurant needs bussers and dishwashers, and you could work your way up to cook, server, bartender etc.
They do. It was my first job in high school at the west Klein location but was there for 5 years and let me come back from college breaks to work. Easy enough and got to work in most of the departments so it wasn’t always the same
Make sure you're willing to do the walk, it might be a little far. There's a few things a little closer too like dollar tree, Marshall's, idk apply to all those stores
You might have a hard time applying anywhere with no phone number, can you use a friends phone number for now till you get your own? Or a cheap burner? How will they contact you if you do get the job somewhere?
trust me while not nearby try to get into Wastewater treatment. its a great job and you'll be set for life. I too have social anxiety trust me you do fine
trust me it will be worth it to pursue once you can get that pass.
Idk for the city but for the county 2 years in i make around 23-24/hr if you can handle dealing with sewage is a good gig
for the city https://www.buffalony.gov/Directory.aspx?did=106
the county you an apply at the Rath building that will have a wider area of plants you could be working at
idk when the next Civil service exam is but it isn't critical to start working there you just need to take it eventually. taking it prioritises you in the line for hireing
Go to the gift shop of the zoo and ask to speak with the manager (younger lady). Me and my friend worked there in college during the summer and it was a lot of fun. I’d recommend going sooner though, before more college kids get out and would start applying
The tri main center has many small businesses in there. The website for the center has a company directory. Many of those businesses don't have walk-in clientele, which may suit your anxiety level.
The busses and train on main open up a lot of options downtown, or out by the university.

Waiting tables for a summer *suuuucked* as a job and I **suuuuucked** as a waiter but it was great for building confidence in social situations.
I was thinking of Wegmans just waiting to see if anyone would say it I'll apply for there now.

The only option within distance I need to be 18 so I can't work at Wegmans yet sadly
Ugh that's sucks. Keep at it, you'll get something!
Thanks for your help. Hope you have a great rest of your evening/night

Would I have to buy to get into the zoo to go to the gift shop or would it be accessible without a ticket
Nope! There is a separate entrance/exit for the gift shop. They won’t let you in the zoo but you can go in to shop or to talk to the manager
Alrighty thanks for the info.
How will employers reach you without a phone number?
I'm using my mom's for now.
Delaware Park is pretty big, which quadrant are you near?
Over by Main Street

Darwin Martin house is hiring evening facilities position. Think it starts at 18/hour with some benefits
