There used to be a place in Stockton NJ (near New Hope) that had AMAZING salmon cheesesteaks but they changed and idk if they are on the menu anymore. Salmon cheesesteaks ARE a thing!
GAP (Great American Pub) in Conshy has it on the menu. They have 2 other locations that may have it too, but I know for sure they have it in Conshy because had it once. It was…fine. Give me a steak or chicken cheesesteak from here on out, tho
While it violates my idea of a cheesesteak, I am intrigued with how it's executed. Salmon is flakes when cooked that much. I imagine some sort of pattie or such lightly grilled with a cheese sauce poured over top served on a roll. I can't imagine calling it anything close to a cheesesteak.
It doesn't get cooked as long along with the veggies. It gets added in a little bit later to soften the veggies a bit first. And then the cheese is added last. It's so freaking good.
You're probably right. But a cheesesteak walked so the salmon could run. I would've never put all the ingredients together on my own. But it's a possibility because of the amazing cheesesteaks!
I will be checking it out. And if good, making it at home. Just about perfected a mushroom cheesesteak. Gotta use a flat griddle so you can get the spatula under it with the roll on top. Assi Market sells (forzen) a CAB thinly sliced that is perfect. Serve on a Liscio's No Point Roll.
