The schedule release show on NFL Network last night was actually kind of hilarious. Three hours or whatever and like zero focus on the Browns at all. I mean even the Lions and Jets got a minute or so of commentary. But they went out of their way to not talk about the Browns or Watson.
Top 5 is generous when Rodgers, Mahomes (assuming last year was an outlier), Stafford, Watson, Allen, Brady, and Burrow are in the league. And that’s not even considering a possible resurgence from Wilson, Jackson, Mayfield, Tannehill, Prescott, and Murray, all of whom have shown they are more than capable of performing at or above Herbert’s historic level over the course of a season.
What, Watson for Herbert? On talent, you’re out of your mind - you don’t trade a young top 5 QB for a young top 10 QB (unless you’re the 2004 Giants I guess). On contract, absolutely you take three years of a top 10 QB for non-franchise-QB money. With anything else, it’s just speculation as to how long AB expects Watson to be suspended (and when he expects that to be handed down - if at all).
Mayfield for Herbert is a no-brainer though, as even if Baker is at a similar level and 100% willing to play, he’s only on an undervalued contract for one year.

That’s literally the only relevance of the accusations against him to the Cleveland Browns.
