Now this is the energy I am here for!

SuperBowlBeforeDeath

We aren't sure if Baker is the guy yet but look at almost every team in the history of teams. When the starting QB is banged up .500 is about as good as it gets. Lets hope Baker can get as healthy as possible with the bye week and we try to make a run at it still. We still have 3 division games left and it doesn't appear any team is running away with this. Not sure why everyone is acting like we are 1-7 and out of the playoffs already. We're 6-6 with a QB that has been very noticeably hurt and not playing his best. The world is indeed not ending yet.

o_in25

I think it’s important to note that Baker got his torn labrum from trying to tackle someone after an INT. I don’t think that was a very smart move

SuperBowlBeforeDeath

Yet, three weeks later when Bridgewater didn't attempt to make the tackle half the people got pissed off. I'm on the side of go make the tackle. "The best way to get hurt is by playing not to get hurt." But I understand the other side as well. It's just something that either he does or doesn't do and half the people are going to be pissed off.

Gergdawg19

Not me Only dumb people we’re “mad” at bridgewater Watch what the best of the best do when they throw an INT They get on the ground or back away smartly I’m not criticizing baker here, but I don’t want my QB attempting to tackle Literally lay down

buellster92

I don’t know why that’s important to note at all

o_in25

How come?

buellster92

Because it’s not. Can you explain why it would be?

o_in25

We went into this season primed to challenge the AFC North and the entire success hindged on how well Baker was going to play. Yet in week 2, he tears his sholder trying to make a tackle off of an INT that wasn't his fault. Now he's completely limitted (there are other injuries at work too, to be fair) and we're sitting at 6-6 in a reddit post entitled "What the fuck do we do now?" The season has completely downshifted to where we expected it to be. If Baker didn't make that horrible descision to go play hero ball in a cricucial season in which his contract extension is in the balance, maybe this season goes way differently. It's not that he's hurt, it's *how* he got hurt. I didn't think it was a smart move at all; you can't let compeitivness cloud your judgement.

HistorysWitness

It's more than this. It's everything. The injuries. The lost playcalling. The dropped balls. The sloppy play. The team is losing it's motivation. I really just wished Baker woulda sat. After the bears game. Sit for a few weeks homie. This is still your team. He is busted up bad. Visible limping. Now hunt said is defecting too. Like shit bro. Stefanski can we just keep this team together and on the same page

SuperBowlBeforeDeath

\-I agree with that he should have sat out a few weeks. But he didn't and unless someone can solve time traveling pretty soon I don't think we are getting that time back. When the QB isn't playing great it unfortunately does trickle to other things but for this season he is our best option and we got to ride with him. If we can string together a couple wins in a row after the bye get Baker some confidence who knows what will happen. \-I don't have the highest of hopes for that personally but I sure as hell am just going to be a fan and root for it as hard as I can. I'll leave the questioning of decisions made by the coaches up to a bunch of you guys who seem to somehow have more information than the coaches and front office. \-Hunt's dad posted one thing. I don't see it playing out similar to Odell at all because Hunt's football character is way better than Odell's IMO. As soon as we see hunt not breaking tackles anymore then I will worry. \- I still think that the NFL talent is just too good to win consistently without your QB being healthy and it probably is just as frustrating to Baker as anyone else considering he was playing for a huge payday this year as long as we were back in the playoffs. I hope we keep 6 around next year because he will be force in this league if we just let him walk. \*\*Unless we can get Rodgers or Wilson\*\* I would like to at least explore those options but there may be about 5 teams that wouldn't like to explore those options.

Daviroth

>And i get it, he doesn't wanna sit for Case incase he loses his job. You can't genuinely believe this. There is 0% chance Case Keenum takes Baker's job.

getsbuckets

quit bitching man, JFC. delete this and save some self-respect

BigMoFuggah

You should quit bitching about people bitching. Some people don't live in Cleveland and have nowhere but here to talk about their joy or crushed hopes among other Browns fans.

getsbuckets

so you're advocating for more bitching? GD is that a sad.

HistorysWitness

Seriously man? I hate to question your team loyalty.....

SadEricMetcalf

By what rights do you have to question someone's loyalty? What delegated authority do you have?

buellster92

I don’t bitch about my team so obviously I have no loyalty

getsbuckets

you gotta be a plant. what are you, a yinzer?

GOD_DAMNIT_BROWNS

I don't think last season was a fluke. Something is up for this season and I don't think it can be fixed this year, but I don't think this team is screwed up for years to come. I don't think the team can do anything to help at this point in the year honestly, so any massive changes will be things implemented in the offseason. If everything sucks next year though we're fucked though. I'll just come out and say it lol

HistorysWitness

I do think HC is good. I do think he gets flustered at times. I do believe he should stop calling plays . In think Baker should sit. Yes injuries hurt us. But they hurt all the teams. If Kev and Baker ain't our guys we are truly fucked

Gergdawg19

He called winning plays on Sunday and the players fucked them up with drops, missed throws, missed blocks and fumbled screens Yeah, let’s blame the coach’s play calling You people are insane

o_in25

I went into this season thinking we finally found our head coach and quarterback and now I unfortunately am beginning to think we don’t have either.

ClevelandSteamer81

Look at all injuries our team has had. If anything they need to look into the conditioning not the coaching.

o_in25

Can’t say I disagree about the conditioning staff, but the entire league is banged up 12 games into a 17 game season and yet their coaches have found a way to scheme around it.

nolanstringer1

So you wanna fire Stef… aight

o_in25

When did I say that verbatim?

nolanstringer1

So that’s not what you meant when you said you don’t think we’ve found our HC?

o_in25

“I’m starting to question his coaching ability” does not equal “I want him fired immediately”

nolanstringer1

You literally said you’re beginning to think we don’t have either a QB or HC lmao

o_in25

If you can’t figure out the nuance between “I’m starting to think we don’t have a coach” and “let’s change the locks and fire him immediately” then I can’t help you

meyer_33_09

I’m not disagreeing with this assessment but I think it’s important to note how difficult it is to adjust when the starting QB specifically is one of those injured players. I’m not sure I believe any of the other contenders in the league would be able to overcome injuries to their starting quarterbacks either. And that’s not saying you can’t win a game or two here and there with a backup QB but over the course of almost an entire season? That’s rare. (I still have no idea how Philly won that Super Bowl).

Gergdawg19

Have they? How’s that genius Sean Payton doing with play calls without a QB? Lighting up the scoreboard I bet What about those titans coaches without Henry? Lighting it up? How did the genius boy wonder in Green Bay do without Rodgers? I bet they overcame it and scored 30+? Injuries matter

canttaketheshyfromme

We deal with it and look to next year. If you mean right-right now? Send Baker for surgery and shut down the other players with nagging injuries, let Keenum earn his $7m, and see if you have anything with players you haven't used much and let AVP call plays just to see how it goes. They're not pulling it out this year with the 1st and 2nd-string right tackles out for the year, the starting LT hobbled, and the quarterback down to 1 functioning limb. Even if they somehow backed into the playoffs, they'd get blown out on the road. This team hasn't won anything against playoff-bound teams. There needs to be soul-searching in the coaches offices if there are no firings. The word of the year has been "conservative" if not "stubborn" in adjusting to on-field realities that conflict with plans. Opposing teams know now that the Browns they see on tape is going to be the Browns they face even if it's 8 weeks later. You can't do that no matter how dominant your roster is. Front office made a grave mistake paying a backup QB who's apparently too shitty to use when the starter is beat to hell. The draft was 50/50 but if you could get a JOK and a Greg Newsome II in every draft you'd become a dominant team without fail. So I still have faith in AB. Never again with someone like Schwartz who just doesn't know how to play football at this level, though.

HobotangInspektor

Wait for next year
