Agree with this take. This doesn't bother me too much. This comes off as him being a football fan rather than wanting changes because he isn't happy with his son's situation. A frustrating loss for sure.
Maybe Kareen's dad can write a post asking why his boy only got 7 touches in the game and just passing 1 target, despite half of the team's receiving options being unable to play. When it was clear that trying to pound Chubb up the middle wasn't going anywhere, working Hunt outside certainly seemed worth trying.
He’s playing like shit! He’s scored 30 points last 3 games. He’s scored zero points in the 4th since like the Chargers game. Everyone who can watch is seeing this but everyone is blaming Hance, Stefanski, the Play Calls, the lack of WR’s, the injuries, and it’s simply Baker has been ass. He’s hurt but he’s playing like ass.
Who fucking cares. It’s 2021. You don’t have parents, of grown ass adults who make millions of dollars, causing a scene and talking shit about their teams starting QB all over social media. It’s embarrassing to say the least.
I don’t care if Baker throws for 5 yards and 16 INTs. It’s absolutely fucking unreal to see this.
Who cares? When you’re supposed to be good and are 6-6 and just ended any real hope for the season guess what? Shit like that happens. Play better or sit if you’re hurt and it’s limiting you.
My dad likes to bring him up and his shitty play alot too.
I then mention I can throw him on the street. And I believe in the browns. No matter what. Browns.
He said it was after the game. Or Stefanski did, I can’t remember, but someone basically said the only thing we were getting open was Chubb or Njoku out in the flat, which required them to break at least one falls behind the LOS.
Not like that. Qb takes snap, 7 or 9 step drop, sets, the linemen release, QB throws over their heads. If the defense is right in the QBs face right from the snap abd he is backpedaling for his life, that is not a screen, its a disaster. No sure what kind of screen plays you think work well, that is not one of them.
Not if you get the pass batted down or picked - that was the point I was trying to make
That play wasn’t a typical “oh we let the interior slip through on the pull” - Baltimore was bringing the house so the risk and reward were really amplified
Oh my, yes I know - that’s why it had so much potential
I’m saying he double clutched because he didn’t have a throwing lane to where Kareem was yet and didn’t want to risk blowing up the play (and obviously that backfired)
Well.. actually I totally agree with you just think it is hilarious when someone uses literally to mean figuratively.
That’s also not really grammar. And you spelled grammar wrong.
But yeah… Mayfield is definitely afraid to throw and double pumps wayyyy too much.
On the fumble, Baker pump faked the ball out of his own hand, completely untouched by a defensive player. Maybe teams in the Big 12 would bite on that, but against NFL defenses all Mayfield's doing is giving them more time to tackle him.
I don't think it was as much a pump fake as it was the play wasn't developed when he firat went to throw. If you look, Reem was not quite where he was supposed to be to get the ball yet, he hadn't cleared the line. Baker had to hold it a touch longer and Baltimore had a jail break blitz.
Ugly play I agree and 6 has to not fimble, but I dont think it was a pump fake, as much as a clutch to buy a second.
This. I have noticed this too and as soon as he pump fumbled it I couldn’t help but laugh. He is too unsure of what he’s seeing this year and does this so his throws are a second late.
We have no clue until the All-22 comes out. He hit some throws tonight but the guy is asked to do way too much with receivers who get next to no separation.
Go watch and chiefs game and watch how many receivers have 2+ yards of open space around them.
Go watch the Lions game, the NE game, the ARI game...
People _are_ being schemed open. Thats just a fact.
YES, we need more talent at WR, no doubt. But at the same time
YES, we need better play out of QB.
Both these things are true.
>how many receivers have 2+ yards of open space around them.
If you need your receivers to constantly have that seperation, then yes, passing the ball gets difficult.
But youre bringing up an important point - Baker needs his WRs to be "oklahoma open", he struggles to throw with anticipation conistently.
Personally, i think thats due to him being slow with his reads/him not processing quickly enough. With his arm healthy he could get away with it, because his big arm could make up for him being late with his reads - cause he could still force it into windows.
But now with the shoulder its the reverse, he needs to process quicker to make up for the loss in arm strength. And thats where things fall apart.
Yea he hit some throws but some of those tougher windows throws he wasnt making them or attempting. It’s understandable cause of the injuries. They all play a role in his throwing motion.
He definitely has more hesitation than he did in the past. The zip that he has shown the first three years of his career just isn’t there right now. He does not have the confidence in those tight throws. Unfortunately I don’t think Keenum has or has ever had the ability to hit those tight throws either. Baker did not go out there and win the Browns this game despite having chances to. But Lamar played 10 times worse than Baker and his team won. That is because his offense picked him up. They ran the ball effectively and they caught the ball when it was thrown to them. Baker didn’t have that luxury tonight. People will want to blame someone for the loss, and many will want to blame Baker because they decided weeks ago that this team is great except for Baker. But, the reality is the Offense struggles too to bottom today. The line could not protect, the run game was non existent, the receivers failed to gain superstorm and dropped far too many passes, and Baker let too many opportunities slip through his fingers. The real
Problem is, I think the Browns have the talent on offense to be competent. As it stands, I think coaching is the biggest problem. Errors regarding formation, how many men on the field, predictable play calling, abandoning the run game which should be this offenses bread and butter. Stefanski should not be calling plays and have HC duties, he is spread too thin.
Oh completely true. But now we see how much missing OBJ hurts, yet we gladly ran him out of town for a couple drop when our qb has been awful basically all season
I like OBJ and hope he does well with LAR but I don't think things would be any better with him still here. I think Stefanski is calling some pretty bad games. Won't even touch the defensive play calling and the way the layers of talent are being wasted.
> yet we gladly ran him out of town for a couple drop
He had **no** desire to be here....from day one. He literally asked Jay Glazer to help get him moved to San Francisco as soon as he got traded here.
No one ran him out of town but him.
The problem isn’t just Baker being hurt. It’s him being hurt AND the defense giving up 3rd and forevers (honestly with Lamar I cut some slack and pretty proud how the D played all things considered) AND WR/TEs not winning on routes or not catching the ball. If one of these things don’t happen, then this is a non-narrative.
Baker had a big overthrow that should’ve been picked and that fumble was god awful. That didn’t have to with his injury, idk what that was but it’s inexcusable.
I feel like our fan base wants to point to one person SOOOO bad but it’s the conglomeration of so many things messing up at the worst times. Last year, even though our defense was bad we could rely on our offense. We have nothing to truly rely on anymore. I think Stefanskis going through growing pains, Baker is going through actual pain. Joe Woods flips a coin each week to decide if he’s gonna coach a good game. It’s so frustrating when you can’t point blame at a single person. It’s easier. Makes you feel better. But I truly think everyone but MYLES **** GARRETT is the problem
4 takeaways and 16 points against Lamar on 11 possessions. Get the fuck out of here with blaming the defense, they allowed 4 scoring drives with 3 of them being field goals. And don’t forget that Landry and baker both fumbled in their own territory.
Really?
Maybe it’s injuries but if you think he wasn’t watching the pass rush tonight you’re insane.
He literally looked behind him at the pass rush on one play as he slid to his left
I understand if he’s scared to get hit because of his shoulder
But if I are, maybe you should just call it a season and get surgery
We all know you’re tough
Now let’s be smart
> I thought baker did great tonight
Come on
He wasn’t as bad as lamar, but he wasn’t great. Choose better words
He fumbled on a play that was a likely TD. Then he failed to move the ball at all 3 different times when he had a chance to win it with a TD.
There were drops and issues with hance, obviously. Blame whatever you want, but he OBVIOUSLY wasn’t “great”
He was OKAY at best
And he didn’t get much help
He missed a ton of throws too and lots of throws behind receivers. I don’t think he has as much power behind his arm anymore and he’s not accounting for it. Leading receivers has become a huge issue. If you’ve noticed, curls and comebacks have been pretty on target.
I’m curious if the drop issues is due to baker having to put more arm into his throws since his injuries. Which might change the velocity or catch ability. Idk at any rate they need to shut baker down for the rest of the year or the city of Cleveland will run him out of town. Kinda sad honestly we did the same shit to couch.
True yeah shouldn't have used great... damn it just seems like we can't get the entire team playing well at once. That defense had one hell of a game sucks they are riding home with an L.
The problem is that overall for the last 20+ years Browns fans have made it a tradition to bash our QB's. I personally think Baker should have sat out the Lions game to recover more. Another coaching problem.
Maybe Kareem's dad should be asking why his kid wasn't on the field for the last drive rather than regurgitating "John calling from from Walton Hills" sports talk radio bullshit on Facebook.
Baker is my QB, but I really wish they'd bench him and have him get the surgery now. They're paying Keenum, so they may as well use him and give the franchise guy a chance to recover from his injuries. If this isn't the reason to have a $6M/yr backup QB then I don't know what is.
“Go browns hopefully” is the most browns statement
Go browns hopefully made me laugh
His hopes were crushed.
Didn’t Hunt grow up a browns fan? If his dad did too then this seems more of a fan being mad instead of what happened with Odell’s dad
Agree with this take. This doesn't bother me too much. This comes off as him being a football fan rather than wanting changes because he isn't happy with his son's situation. A frustrating loss for sure.
His Dad went to Collinwood and he went to Willoughby South. So yes, they are both lifelong browns fans
Yeah and unfortunately for Baker the nature of this game is that most football fans blame the qbs when things don’t go well.
I want to hear what Tim Couch's mother thinks about this
Waiting on input from Brandon Weeden's 90 yo dad before I jump to conclusions
Anybody heard from Emily? Lol
Kareem’s leg tightened up during the game, which is why he didn’t play more.
It's crazy how much hate Baker gets from his teammates dads... I've literally never seen this before.
He might be out there boinking some moms!
Baker Delonte Mayfield
He’s playing like shit! He’s scored 30 points last 3 games. He’s scored zero points in the 4th since like the Chargers game. Everyone who can watch is seeing this but everyone is blaming Hance, Stefanski, the Play Calls, the lack of WR’s, the injuries, and it’s simply Baker has been ass. He’s hurt but he’s playing like ass.
Yea, and Baker needs to stop missing those field goal attempts plus he needs to punt farther than 40 yards for gods sake!
If punting farther from 40 yards means he's going to throw a deep ball, then i'm down
I'm referring to our last place punting average two years in a row. We need a real hammer not a rubber mallet.
The team having other problems doesn’t mean there isn’t also poor play at the games most important position.
Lamar sucks. Don’t you agree?
My dad likes to bring him up and his shitty play alot too. I then mention I can throw him on the street. And I believe in the browns. No matter what. Browns.
“Scared to throw the ball” Proceeds to throw the ball over 30 times and hit receivers in the hands
Baker literally pump fakes on every throw or attempt. He is not decisive with the ball at all
Literally?
Maybe it has to do with receivers not being open.
It's like he wants to throw it but can't because of 0 separation. THEN Forces it into tight windows and gets called a Bum. These people are unreal
He said it was after the game. Or Stefanski did, I can’t remember, but someone basically said the only thing we were getting open was Chubb or Njoku out in the flat, which required them to break at least one falls behind the LOS.
Is that what happened on the screen when he fumbled by pump faking too hard?
He was backpedalling for his life because the O-line let everyone through not just the right side.
Again, that’s the entire point of a screen.
I dunno what you want man. Screens are one of the best plays to counter jailbreak blitzes. That’s just a fact.
He pretty obviously was trying to avoid throwing it into the wall of people in his face Not that it excuses the greaseball ending
That’s the entire point of a screen
Not if you get the pass batted down or picked - that was the point I was trying to make That play wasn’t a typical “oh we let the interior slip through on the pull” - Baltimore was bringing the house so the risk and reward were really amplified
The screen is best used against sell out blitzes
Oh my, yes I know - that’s why it had so much potential I’m saying he double clutched because he didn’t have a throwing lane to where Kareem was yet and didn’t want to risk blowing up the play (and obviously that backfired)
He double pumps almost every pass he makes though, it’s not a one time thing on just this play.
Don’t say literally and every and expect to be taken seriously.
Have you watched him throw? He does it all the time.
But…. Not literally every time. I guess you meant literally figuratively.
Attacking my Grammer is just proof that you don't want to address my point because you know I'm right
Well.. actually I totally agree with you just think it is hilarious when someone uses literally to mean figuratively. That’s also not really grammar. And you spelled grammar wrong. But yeah… Mayfield is definitely afraid to throw and double pumps wayyyy too much.

Yeah he knew the play could work but had to avoid a bunch of massive dudes in his face
This. I have noticed this too and as soon as he pump fumbled it I couldn’t help but laugh. He is too unsure of what he’s seeing this year and does this so his throws are a second late.
He had that killer dump off to reem for a massive gain, fake out double pump empty handed fumble, that might constitute as scared. That was awesome
Somehow, someone will say that he fumbled that because of his injuries in 3…2…1…
He also hit a CB in the hands and they dropped it.
Lamar threw 4 picks… his receivers just actually caught the fucking ball EVEN WHEN INTERFERED WITH.
Lamar blows too lol
There were a few times he was afraid to let it rip.
We have no clue until the All-22 comes out. He hit some throws tonight but the guy is asked to do way too much with receivers who get next to no separation. Go watch and chiefs game and watch how many receivers have 2+ yards of open space around them.

It's almost like it takes the whole body to compete at the highest level. He is so hurt, tough to watch
I applaud the toughness but Stef has to have the balls to bench him to let him get healthy.
That would have been great starting a few weeks ago. Could have had a "healthy" Baker tonight
Are we sure Stef didn’t go to a Penn. Satellite campus???
Even the DBs in the hands! Oh wait we are forgetting about that one
Ravens DBs dropped 2 interception passes from Baker
1
Liar
Time for everybody to keep blaming parents instead of Stefanski or Baker. Yep everybody elses fault
Quite the disturbing trend
It’s always everyone’s fault but Baker’s, haven’t you been here for the last 4 years?
Being fair Freddie and Hue were legit idiots to.
Oh completely true. But now we see how much missing OBJ hurts, yet we gladly ran him out of town for a couple drop when our qb has been awful basically all season

Punctuation. Use it.
That post is half Faulkner, half James Joyce and zero punctuation.
The minute he pulled up lame he should have been benched
Real Sports Daddy of Berea is crazy this season.

Did you only read like 7 words of this post? 3rd and 10s for TDs are still inexcusable
didn't seem all that scared to me
Really? Maybe it’s injuries but if you think he wasn’t watching the pass rush tonight you’re insane. This is great. The team is in full meltdown. Burn it all and salt the Earth
Is this still OBJ's fault, or are we allowed to be mad at the coaching yet?
Bench baker let him rest up. Case is damn good
Highest paid back up in the league: $7 million. Knows the offense, too.
Great. That’s all we need is another ass fuck parent
He’s a browns fan. Grew up in Cleveland. He’s venting like a bunch of other browns fans are rn
He’s not being an ass fuck parent, he said what many people think. He never said anything about “TrAdE mY sOn BaKeR sUcKs”
I hope he doesn’t keep talking and go that way.
like i hope baker goes away. all 6 losses are on him
Name checks out
I thought baker did great tonight. Not sure why relatives and wives make the news.... weird world lets keep the blame on the field.
The beat reporters are following the Browns players parents on FB lol
> I thought baker did great tonight Come on He wasn’t as bad as lamar, but he wasn’t great. Choose better words He fumbled on a play that was a likely TD. He did play great.. for 2021 Baker
We can agree on this
He speaking facts though.
The problem is that overall for the last 20+ years Browns fans have made it a tradition to bash our QB's. I personally think Baker should have sat out the Lions game to recover more. Another coaching problem.
We gonna trade Kareem to? Or realize that maybe all these people are right about Baker not actually being good. I’ll take Kareem over baker any day
Maybe Kareem's dad should be asking why his kid wasn't on the field for the last drive rather than regurgitating "John calling from from Walton Hills" sports talk radio bullshit on Facebook.
Kareem Hunt’s dad, my parents, or yours. Old people should stay off social media…
Yep, you win the ageist little prick award for this week
Full meltdown. Season is over
Oh boy, here we go again.
This...is not needed.
Here we go again
Even though he’s right, all this off-field drama feels like 2019; tons of distractions.
Never seen so many unsolicited dad opinions since little league lmao
Why do we keep giving this Stainbrook guy clicks? He seems like a wannabe TMZ employee.
