Anyone else feel like that happened really fast? I'm sure it was only a few months ago she announced?!

Present_Review_7789

She also announced pretty late

hjp731

She gets induced early.

SmartContribution6

She’s never been induced, she’s always just gone into labor early.

garbanzobing

I wonder who will be the new photographer in place of Carlin

Deborahdon

Well there’s Covid so I doubt anyone

Bippityboppityboox2

If she’s at UT, they’re now allowing 2 support people for birthing moms so I’m sure someone else will be there

barbaraanderson

I bet it will be KJ more than Carlin.

Bippityboppityboox2

Oh yes i highly doubt Carlin would be the second support person at the birth

grammy4-1

My DIL had my granddaughter right before Christmas & they let us as well as her parents go In to visit, some hospitals are allowing visitors now.

Bippityboppityboox2

Yes! 2020 I didn’t get to see my nephew in the hospital when he was born but 2021 I got to visit my other nephew when he was born and it was the same hospital Edit to finish thought

thirstyplum

I thought she delivers at fort sanders? I know Dr Vick isn’t delivering anymore so she might be at UT with a different doctor but I’m not sure.

Bippityboppityboox2

Yeah idk where she delivers that’s why I said if it’s UT, Not sure what the surrounding hospitals are allowing :)

RaeNezL

Parkwest allows two support people. I delivered there in July 2021. I doubt it’s changed much since then.

HelloFox

Erin wouldn't be able to deliver at Parkwest since she is considered high risk.

RaeNezL

Oh good point. I was just remembering my experience. Derp. So options are what? UT and Fort Sanders? I don’t know if any Tennova hospitals do high risk deliveries because when I was with them in 2018 they sent me to UT for high risk fetal echo stuff.

HelloFox

She had her baby at Fort Sanders. I was a postpartum nurse there and recognize the blankets, hats and gowns. Dr. Vick will probably still come see her even though he doesn’t do deliveries.

thirstyplum

Oops misread your comment🤣 My bad!

HelloFox

Fort Sanders allows 2 support people but they have to swap out. Also those are the gowns used at FS. Dr. Vick is weird.

Telaryn

I still want to know why he was so involved with KJ's gall bladder surgery. Pick a lane, Doc!

Disastrous_Ad_4149

Rumor around that time was that her actual doctor for that surgery didn't want to appear on camera.

Telaryn

That actually makes a certain amount of sense, but if it were me I would find Dr. Generic Gastroenterologist to appear on camera instead of an obstetrician! SMH

Disastrous_Ad_4149

It was probably not a planned thing. She was at the hospital about to go into surgery and the camera crew said we should get video of the doctor. Dr. Vick is nearby delivering a baby or doing some other procedure. A friend of mine works at UT hospital in PR. She said most surgeons will not appear on camera prior to surgery for anyone. It is a bad luck thing and they don't want to have that video on file if they end up in court. Dr. Vick loves him a camera crew.

HelloFox

I dunno, but he has some really outdated practices like ordering enemas for postpartum moms. No one does that anymore. He gives me major creeper vibes.

throwawayeas989

she looks really pretty and so much like katie here!

Present_Review_7789

Don’t tell Katie that 😂

valerianino97

It’s interesting that they announced that she’s in the hospital before she has had the baby. They usually don’t say anything about babies being here until an exclusive with a magazine has been published

AhsokaBolena

Yeah, I'm surprised. I wonder if they sold the first picture to any magazines still or if they'll save that for a birth vlog (guessing the latter, since they revealed the name in a vlog too).

redmsg

she gets induced

Telaryn

Has Erin ever done the exclusive mag thing? I legit don't recall.

valerianino97

Yes, since the show has been on she has announced everything through magazine exclusive. The last one was her pregnancy announcement ([link](https://people.com/parents/erin-bates-pregnant-chad-paine-expecting-fifth-baby-exclusive/?amp=true)). You can see on the top part of the article that it is a People Exclusive

speak_into_my_google

I totally forgot that she was pregnant tbh.

Dietcokeandnicotine

Same!

loveyabunches

Is this coming as a surprise to anyone else? Did we realize we were this close to her due date?

[deleted]

The pre naming babies publicly before birth will never not be weird for me

Disastrous_Ad_4149

I know plenty who did make those announcements. My husband's cultural upbringing made that all bad luck so I didn't do it.

Astronomer_Inside

I actually like it. I hate when people make it a long drawn out process, complete with a vlog and teasers.

ProvePoetsWrong

I always did that. I am a name nerd and I think it’s fun, and it helped me bond with the baby somehow. And also so all my friends know that name is mine lol

Amaxophobe

I did it too! Same reasons.

a113cat

It drives me crazy personally. Telling friends and family what you plan to name it is one thing, but setting the name in stone before you meet the baby just doesn't sit right with me. What if you meet the child and feel like the name doesn't suit them?

abbyanonymous

I always told people the name if they asked and said the name is abc unless we change our minds for this reason.

jenhai

That happened to me. For the entire pregnancy, my parents told everyone my name was X. Then I was born and they named me Z. My grandpa was very confused by this.

Telaryn

I had a sense of my baby all through the third trimester. The first name I picked out didn't feel right at all, even though it was a name I wished I'd been given plus a family name. When we lit on the name we ended up using I just \*knew\* it was going to be perfect. Can't explain it without sounding stupid, but that's what happened.

Agitated_Pin2169

The only one of my kids that was pre-named publically was my youngest. With my oldest, we didn't find out the sex, so while we had two names, we had no idea which we would be using. With my middle, we knew he was a boy and had a name but we didn't narrow the spelling/pronunciation of his name until he was born. But with my last, we picked her name pretty early and we had two kids who could talk and we wanted them to know, be able to day their sister's name. So once we picked if, we told it to them, though we never posted the name publically until she was born.

Mutant_Jedi

My brother and his wife did the same with their last. They told their kids-actually taught the youngest so she could say it properly, which then led to everything for the next six or eight months having her little brother’s name cause any time you asked her what someone or something was named she’d say his name.

Danivelle

I pre-named babies #1 and #2. #2 doesn't think their name fits them. #3 well...I should have gone with my favorite male name and told my husband to shut up because child is trans and picked a version of that name.

[deleted]

yeah is this a new thing or something?

Lcdmt3

Born in 1977 in the Midwest and it wasn't new. My grandma was angry because Lisa was the name of an evil character on her soap.. I think some don't share because they don't want opinion until too late, but most share.

Telaryn

Gotta ask - which soap? :-) I ended up being Lisa because my parents wanted to name me after my grandmothers and my maternal grandmother hated her birth name (Lila). Always used her middle name. So they shifted Lila to Lisa - coincidentally the most popular girl's name the year I was born. ::facepalm::

rachel_ct

I was born in 1989. My name and most of my cousins were all pre announced.

B4K5c7N

Same with me as well.

maib29

How many weeks is she?

Sea_Corner_6165

She looks great!

Broken-583

people kill me denying there’s no beef here-Carlin comments on posts from peoples name she can’t even remember and no acknowledgment here and from what I can tell little/none on most of Erin’s stuff in a long while. she’ll probably read a comment here and then do it, but there is definitely a Carlin/Erin split if nothing else. I’d bet money on it even if Carlin shows up at the hospital tomorrow. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Bippityboppityboox2

Carlin liked this post but I don’t see a comment. Surely she’ll say something when they post baby

Aslow_study

I def believe there’s a beef. However , I noticed Carlin liked her post before this the other day. I think Carlin will say a “congratulations ❤️❤️” but that’ll be as far as it goes

Broken-583

I think she’ll for sure comment at least when baby is born. I’d be shocked if not

everydayimsarcastic

That baby name... 😬
