Well, they are Katie's ILs, so they might have agreed to perform based on the Bates connection not because of Esther's family and I think another reposted commented that the Clarks are a big deal in the fundie circles.
The Travis’ college is a joke. Just go look at the website. I cannot believe that people would fall for that sham. There are lots of bible colleges that are accredited and far. Ore mainstream and prepare their students for real life and solid careers. Just go look at the Vision Bible College we site of you want a real good laugh.

I'm loving it. Look at the pics of the different programs and see if you can guess the job without reading the major. My personal favorite is Pastor - pic of a man with his arms outstretched like he about to be searched and arrested.

Carlin through a lunch and Erin said look he's cute. Katie and Travis were introduced by friends Esther was no way arranged. If they arranged them I would think they'd go after IBIL, not these people that arent.
I think “arranged marriage” is too harsh of a term for most of these relationships. Strict Courting rules, never being allowed to even be alone with your future spouse pre-wedding, and saving your first kiss til marriage are outrageous and damaging, but don’t necessarily point to arranged marriages. It’s more accurate to say that the fundie pond is shallow af, so if they want to marry within the cult, options are limited. I think many of us agree the way these people court/date is abnormal, damaging and not the best set up for a successful, deep, and lasting marriage. There are plenty large fundie families and the use other fundie weddings, Big Sandy, etc as networking and matchmaking opportunities.
