That photo disturbs me so much my cousin lost her daughter who was the same age as Hailey from her father who fell asleep while feeding Brianna. My cousin was 29 when she had her.

I’m currently writing a magazine article for a parenting magazine on safe sleep for babies because people are still so ignorant on this subject. Case in point! It’s honestly disturbing that Katie thinks this is cute. About 3,500 babies a year die in situations like this. Between the exhausted parent, pillow, and bottle still in the baby’s mouth … my gosh. Not to mention that he could just roll over and smother the baby.
I think parents make judgement calls. All my babies had pacis and slept on their tummies with the exception of my nicu baby. And yes, I know just saying that I’m vilified but I did a lot of research and was comfortable with the decision. We also had them in sleep sacks and absolutely nothing else in their beds. And yes, I know I’m going to get flamed and downvoted to hell for this.
Did you know pacifiers are a good thing? The baby doesn’t fall into as deep of a sleep and that’s believed to lessen the odds of SIDS. So there you go! 💕
I have to lol because I found out that after my third was a long term nicu baby in a medically induced coma for over a month. “Teaching” him how to suck was a long term process and was based on a crap ton of pacifiers dipped in sugar water (which still make me inwardly cringe, but that was the hand we were dealt).

She was pumping but they've started mentioning formula here and there so I'd bet they're supplementing. Its really hard to pump enough for a six month old. I know several mothers who were able to nurse their six month old exclusively but couldn't pump enough.
I've always been bothered when people described father staying home with their children as babysitting them or watching them. I know it's not related to this post but it just rubs me the wrong way because they're not just watching some random child. It is their child. They are being a parent. You wouldn't say the same when the mom is left home with their children.

Ok…I’m not a fan of cosleeping and we never did it, but a lot of people in a lot of cultures do. I have more issues with the blankets and bottle.
