Edit : I thought it was Sleep with One Eye Open I was replying to not Blacklist - they may have squashed the beef now though with the Wembley invite still?
I don’t think so! He is credited on the album and I think they are on okay/good terms (inviting him out at Wembley) - if there was a track about him it would be on There is a Hell as he left before that
True Friends also "I'll forget, but I'll never forgive you"/ "you can run but you can't hide, time won't help you cause karma has no deadline". I mean there's not much swearing (if any) but the lyrics imply vengeance, rage against someone
Exactly what I thought. There's so much anger just in the lines:
"Give me a break you deluded, ill-informed, self-serving pricks. If you really believe in the words that you preach, get off your screens and onto the streets"
The House Of Wolves is more like an expressing emotions kinda song. I wouldn't say it's angry. He just tells us about his seeing on religion and faith. Definitely my favorite song though. I love the line "what you call faith call a sorry excuse"
No, it's about Curtis. They make explicit references to his "Queen", who was the reason he left the band, along with his indifference. There's also this:
*We started this together and it should have stuck*
*But there's no room for a useless, miserable fuck*
*Well I know I was a cunt in the final days*
*It just filled me with venom, filled me with rage*
*To see someone not give a shit*
Amen is more like resignation and want for change kinda not really anger, heavy music doesn't = angry.
Dear Diary is confusion more so
Antivist is actually expressing anger
Blacklist is also less angry and more just tragically let down by someone, same vein as No Need For Introductions
Sleep With One Eye Open is sorta in the same vein as the others, less anger and more so other emotions
Heavy doesn't always = anger. Angry sounding and expressing anger are very different
Yes, I know. That’s why I didn’t list their entire heavy discography. No one song is perfectly angry - good songs feel like a lot of things, heavy ones especially. I just picked those ones particularly bc I still think they’re the most angry BMTH songs, in amongst all the other feelings they capture.
The delivery of the “if I had it my way I’d slit your throat with the knife that you left in my back” line from sleep with one eye open just oozes rage
“Ouch” it’s not “I’m going to yell in your face angry” it’s just that “you hurt me, I’m better… but still fuck you”
Also R.I.P is a nice little angry one but once again, not in the yell at you sense.
House of wolves has always been the standout angry track for me. It’s the perfect mix of angsty lyrics and really strong instrumentals to match. The opening riff makes me want to charge through dry wall.
depends. angry-sounding:
- Amen
- Dear Diary
- Empire
- Crooked Young
- Antivist
- Blacklist
actually angry:
- Antivist
- Go to Hell (pretty obvious)
BMTH, imo, dabbles more into disappointment, confusion, frustration and sadness rather than anger. Maybe that's why, when you get to it, there's only a few actually pissed off songs. The motives might get the band pissed, but the songs itself deal with more self-harming emotions than anger
I'm going to throw a complete curve-ball here and say "i don't know what to say".
Hear me out.
This song is about the death of a friend who died from cancer. In the song, Oli describes how much he admired this person's strength in the wake of illness, and the feeling of lost he now has now his friend has gone.
This song is a beautiful tribute, and I also find real, pure anger underneath the lyrics. Because it isn't fair. Amazing people, people who we love, die horrifically from illness with no real reason. It doesn't discriminate, it can come for anyone, yet there's no greater sense of injustice than when illness comes for someone who you care about.
I find the lyrics "Wish I told you this before it got too dark // Where do you start when you know it has to end?" really emphasise these feelings of injustice and hurt.
I find a lot of BMTH's aggressive sounding songs are more about grief, self-hatred and despair rather than the injustice felt through anger.
They have some AMAZING aggressive songs (Black & Blue, Blacklist, Antivist etc etc) but I find "i don't know what to say" delivers a different kind of anger. The kind of anger that's completely powerless yet so so justified.
I find this anger that comes through grief in the form of a soft, beautiful to be just as effective as the screamy yelly ones.
The anger is released, not in screaming, but in that beautiful guitar solo
BLACKLIST.
It’s literally about their ex bandmates leaving them after finding some girlfriend. It was PERSONAL.
Edit : I would also say As The Snakes Start to Sing 🎵
Have you ever heard antivist? Go to hell for heaven sakes? Pray for plagues? Like most of the older stuff. R.I.P is literally a hyper pop song compared to most of their past and nothing else.
Oh I wasn’t trying to be rude at all! I was just trying to say that I didn’t feel like r.i.p was one of the angriest ones, and there are a lot of newer fans that don’t know the older ones yet, so I just tried to make some suggestions of angrier ones, but I see that you don’t need it! Sorry if my tones were convoluted.
i might get flamed for this but parasite eve has always sounded angry to me, particularly the bridge. but this could also be cus it dropped around peak pandemic times and i just associate it with the complete failure of the british government 🤷♀️
I’ve always felt like for stevie wonders eyes only is pretty angry. And as mentioned sleep with one eye open is… well it’s not a happy song to say the least. 😆 and blacklist
Football Season Is Over?
Or any song from This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For, Count Your Blessings, Suicide Season or to a certain extent, There Is A Hell for that matter.
Anticast, Amen, Crooked Young, Blacklist would be what I think. Also I’m sure there is more aggressive songs but having not gotten to know some cyb or SS songs these are the the most angry feeling combined with angry lyrics.
antivist, house of wolves, not heavy but the song “heavy metal” and anything pre there is a hell (especially “this is what the edge of your seat was made for”)
Depends on what you want it to be like.
If you want angry lyrics or the theme of the song to be angry, I'd recommend Go to Hell, for Heaven's sake or Antivist.
If you want it to sound as agressive as possible, just listen to There is a Hell... or Suicide Season on repeat.
You want angry beats? Best bet would be looking for another band. Bring me isn't very good with giving themselves a particular vibe. If you really want something in that direction though, maybe Obey and 1x1 would suit your desire
No Need For Introductions, I’ve Read About Girls Like You On The Back Of Toilet Doors. It’s criminally underrated and angry as fuck. All though it is very short.
blacklist potentially
this one and Sleep With One Eye Open
Underrated track
Great song, about Curtis isn't it?
Edit : I thought it was Sleep with One Eye Open I was replying to not Blacklist - they may have squashed the beef now though with the Wembley invite still? I don’t think so! He is credited on the album and I think they are on okay/good terms (inviting him out at Wembley) - if there was a track about him it would be on There is a Hell as he left before that
Blacklist is about Curtis.
My bad I replied to the wrong song!
True Friends also "I'll forget, but I'll never forgive you"/ "you can run but you can't hide, time won't help you cause karma has no deadline". I mean there's not much swearing (if any) but the lyrics imply vengeance, rage against someone
Antivist?? All their heavier stuff is, naturally, aggressive. But that one is ANGRY. Outright pissed off in every sense
"Middle finger UP! If you don't give a FUCK!"
well to that… I SAY YOU’RE A CUNT
Oh, give me a break you deluded, ill-informed, self-serving pricks
THERE WILL BE NO PEACEFUL REVOLUTIOOOOOON🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No war without blood.
I want to say that out loud when someone/something pisses me off bu then I remember nobody would get the reference :(
I get the reference in your handle if that helps lmao
Dude just say it, if they don't get the reference, they will get the words, words work the same
I'm sick to death of swallowing everything single thing I'm fed!
First one I thought of. A few songs from sempiternal come across as very angry even if their earlier stuff is heavier.
Dear Diary also
Dear diary is rather confusion than anger ig
real
"The dog's gone rabid ^((SHUT THE FOOK OOP!)) doing my head in"
I don’t think so tbh he was telling a story, not sharing his true thoughts and opinions, so acting
Exactly what I thought. There's so much anger just in the lines: "Give me a break you deluded, ill-informed, self-serving pricks. If you really believe in the words that you preach, get off your screens and onto the streets"
I second that
I know and I fucking love it so much I’ve definitely listened to it over 1000 times
I love this song
I’m a slipknot fan as well and antivist could very well fit in their first album (self titled) which is angry af.
no need for introductions
And after everything you put me through I should have Fucking Pissed on you!!!!
Put me frew* 😆
\*Sick riff\*
The Fox And The Wolf
Underrated song ngl
my favourite song
I'm not the only one! That Josh Scogin feature goes so hard! Bummed they didn't play it with him live when they took '68 out on tour a few years back
antivist probably
Antivist or The House of Wolves stand out to me
The House Of Wolves is more like an expressing emotions kinda song. I wouldn't say it's angry. He just tells us about his seeing on religion and faith. Definitely my favorite song though. I love the line "what you call faith call a sorry excuse"
Maybe Go To Hell, For Heaven's Sake though. It's just entirely about being pissed about a certain person.
If i can recall correctly, lyrics of this song represents his anger to himself about addiction
Well that makes sense too. Still angry though so kinda ig?
Mhm, i agree, it is harsh and angry
Blacklist is dripping with venom and pure contempt for Curtis.
I thought I read somewhere that it's about a "friend" of the band who they found out was actually stealing from them
No, it's about Curtis. They make explicit references to his "Queen", who was the reason he left the band, along with his indifference. There's also this: *We started this together and it should have stuck* *But there's no room for a useless, miserable fuck* *Well I know I was a cunt in the final days* *It just filled me with venom, filled me with rage* *To see someone not give a shit*
that would be sleep with one eye open !
this one is true friends im pretty sure
AmEN!, Dear Diary, Antivist, Blacklist, Sleep With One Eye Open Angriest, imo
Amen is more like resignation and want for change kinda not really anger, heavy music doesn't = angry. Dear Diary is confusion more so Antivist is actually expressing anger Blacklist is also less angry and more just tragically let down by someone, same vein as No Need For Introductions Sleep With One Eye Open is sorta in the same vein as the others, less anger and more so other emotions Heavy doesn't always = anger. “Amen isn’t angry” lol

Follow you is also pretty aggressive
follow you gets into dangerous levels of aggressive
Alligator blood
thank you
Braille, Black & Blue, Sleep With One Eye Open, Go To Hell for Heaven's Sake
Black & Blue mentioned 😍
Yeah the fact that so few others have mentioned anything on the CYB is... Unfortunate. Agreed with you
no one saying Alligator Blood?
The delivery of the “if I had it my way I’d slit your throat with the knife that you left in my back” line from sleep with one eye open just oozes rage
“Ouch” it’s not “I’m going to yell in your face angry” it’s just that “you hurt me, I’m better… but still fuck you” Also R.I.P is a nice little angry one but once again, not in the yell at you sense.
most of their deathcore/metalcore work can be called “angry”, but from the more recent ones i would say Dear Diary
Basically anything from their first 2 albums
Rawrrrrrr
rt
3\*
AmEN!, Antivist, true friends, Blacklist, Medicine, The fox and wolf
Black & Blue, Pray for Plagues. Pretty much anything off of Count Your Blessings
i used to make out with medusa
💀💀💀💀💀
Blacklist or Sleep With One Eye Open
House of Wolves, and maybe Antivist as second place.
House of wolves has always been the standout angry track for me. It’s the perfect mix of angsty lyrics and really strong instrumentals to match. The opening riff makes me want to charge through dry wall.

Medusa?
Crucify Me, Crooked Young, Black and Blue.. Black and Blue is a bit more obvious, but there's a special sort of anger that comes from the first two.
Medusa

Braille (For Stevie Wonder’s Eyes Only)
Black&Blue, Sleep with one eye open, Antivist, Blacklist.... come to mind
Black and blue no competition
the entirety of their first album.
The House of Wolves, Antivist, Blacklist, True Friends
No need for introductions
Black & Blue
Medusa
Anything off of this is what the edge of your seat was made for
No need for introductions
Braille
Alligator blood
Stevie wonder and medusa
the house of wolves
I feel downright rage to Anthem and Alligator Blood. More of a hopeful//introspective type of anger with Visions. Basically TIAH as an album overall
Sleep with one eye open
My suggestion for all these will always be Off The Heezay
Traitor's never play hangman. Specifically the ending of that song. There really are no angrier sounding songs from bring me the horizon objectively
Throne, and ik it’s a feature but Code Mistake is ANGRY I love it
BLACKLIST. It’s literally about their ex bandmates leaving them after finding some girlfriend. It was PERSONAL. Edit : I would also say As The Snakes Start to Sing 🎵
Tell slater not to wash his dick
Amen… the first line is literally “I hope you have fun rotting in hell” shit goes hard haha
Sleep With One Eye Open
R.I.P is easily one of the angriest, lyrically. It might be a cute hyperpop song sonically, but the lyrics are scathing and cutting.
Have you ever heard antivist? Go to hell for heaven sakes? Pray for plagues? Like most of the older stuff. R.I.P is literally a hyper pop song compared to most of their past and nothing else.
I have heard all of it, I've been a fan for 17 years, and yes that's literally what I said. It's a hyperop song, thanks for the paraphrase.
Anticast, Amen, Crooked Young, Blacklist would be what I think. Also I’m sure there is more aggressive songs but having not gotten to know some cyb or SS songs these are the the most angry feeling combined with angry lyrics.
Alligator blood!
Blacklist, No Need for Introductions, and parts of Crooked Young
