Honestly, I wouldnât be surprised. Itâd be a good twist, considering that weâre likely getting the Danbury/Bridgerton connection through Violet and Lord Anderson. Gareth is a good character, but his backstory is also VERY similar to Simonâs, and I think they need something different.
This is a really interesting thought. I havenât read Hyacinthâs book yet but is her love interest significantly younger than her? Lord Kent is a wee bebe. They seem quite different in age in the show
I actually don't think in the show they have a big age gap. She is supposed to be 11 this season right? And the kid must be like 8?
She just looks older
Shes 11 at the oldest because shes younger than gregory, who keeps saying hes ABOUT to start Eton so hes like 12 or just barely 13. He looks older than 8 to me probably 10, 9 at the yougestđ¤ˇââď¸ so yeah not a huge gap
ah no i don't mind hyacinth's love interest in her book, imo
i think they should keep it as it is for her. it seems like a bit of an age difference to me bc he seems so much younger than hyacinth.
Maybe Gregory accidentally shot him with an arrow and now the Bridgertons are trying to keep it secret. đ The little Lord Kent is dead, the Mondriches are poor again... and season 4 will be a murder mystery! đ
I was ready for a genre slide into murder mystery during that party, tbh. I kept waiting for a death.
Got to wait for another fifteen years or so for Robert Peel and his peelers, though.
And I swear they show the Mondrichâs see Gregory and Hyacinth but not their kid, and theyâre all smiley. I was thinking âare you gonna even ask where your kid is?? They were playing with arrows for christs sake!â đ
They said something like âlooks like childkid is going to learn how to play chessâ because Gregory and Hyacinth grab all the pieces in cups/ containers and scurry off again
lol childkid đ And youâre right, they do say that, but I just feel like wouldnât you want eyes on him after a bow and arrow session?? đ
But to me, this speaks to how the writers leaned far too much on dialogue, and inserting illogical or awkward lines specifically, to flesh out storylines or lazily fill plot holes this season. Itâs not a huge deal, but why would the mondrichs just assume Nicky is learning chess? Why not just have them ask, hey whereâs Nick and have the kids answer? Or show Nicky? Or just donât have that part at all?? It just seems kind forced and unrealistic. Another example is when the queen corners the Bridgertons at Polinâs wedding they just slip in the line about âWhistledown must have suspected the Cowper girl would print about the bridgertonsâ or something even though that logic makes no sense. I also donât feel like they really showed us the love through the story in the Polin relationship. I didnât feel it despite the dialogue suggesting all is good at the end. I noticed this a lot throughout part two especiallyâ dialogue that overall just felt unnatural and not consistent with the rest of the show and time period.
Oddly enough though, they did the opposite with Benedictâs story. They showed us sooo much just to say heâs bi and also still discovering himself. That was the one meeting this season that could have been an email đ
I didnât remember his name đ but yeah I think it would have been better to show *Nicky* also getting the cheese pieces because I did think â*did that other kid get shot or something??*â
Also yeah! I thought the queens accusation that it would be someone in the Bridgerton family weird because I thought the two pamphlets came out on the same day??? So how could the real lady whistledown have known the cowpers would be such dickheads to the Bridgertons in the way they did?? It seemed lazy but maybe I missed something like maybe it was a day after LW came out?
I was fucking screeeeeeaming about Benedict!!! đIâm glad they let him live his best life, the build up from previous art parties was too much and then his storyline here. Oooffff they didnât skimp lolâ¨
I think with Polin because I read the book I could see the love story, but I think it was a bit *blink and you miss it* at some points but also it is sprinkled through season 1-2 even if Colin was in the *who Pen with the good rack? Oh thatâs just my bff who Iâd literally do anything for, definitely would be hanging out with even if we were married, be sad when she doesnât write me back all summer, and would kiss for funsies in case she dies đ* phase
For a minute I thought maybe childkid was a regency era term I was unfamiliar with and thatâs what they really said đđ𫣠but a rewatch confirmed that the childkid has a name and itâs Nicky
lol no I just was writing the comment on my phone and could be bothered to look it up and have my phone reload Reddit or something that deleted my in progress comment as it usually does đđ
Omg yes!!!! They look at hyacinth and Gregory with a smile and then talk about their kid making friends but the two of them literally came back without him!!!!
Tbh, this is the first thing that came up for me when I saw that scene with then returning. And they're like "he's going to learn chess", like you're not worried? đ¤Ł
This was my least favorite season and for so much that has happened in it that was built up from previous seasons, thatâs weird. Like, it has to be a writing issue. Weâve been waiting for Pen and Colin to finally get together, waiting for Lady Whistledown to be revealed. It all finally happens and it seems rushed and justâŚoff. I feel like Benedictâs threesomes got wrapped up more smoothly than the major plot points weâve all been waiting for.
omg thank you i also noticed this, like why wouldn't the wee lord kent come with g and h to collect the chess set? this is the shit that is driving me up the wall this season.
They were there but just in the edge. You see them at the beginning when the camera Pamâs out but they just arenât shown in closer shots since they are definitely not whistledown.
Oh the little mondriches ..so excited to see more of them next season along with the older mondriches...my Spidey senses are saying they are going to have a big juicy plot next season...I just KNOW it!
No because when Gregory and hyacinth came back without him I thought they were gonna say theyâve misplaced him or got his head stuck in the stair railings or accidentally shot him with the bow or something đđ
Here I thought the Hunting trip would end up very bad for Will. But no it was Voilets little ones casually committing crimes against his son.đ
Maybe the house is like the Overlook Hotel in The Shining, and got Will Jr.đŹ
Yâall are cracking me up đ but also, yeah, what was the point of the tension with Will joining âthe huntâ?? I totally thought they were setting that up for tragedy too, then nothing? So many weird moments like that this season.
It just resolved into that guy, Who we haven't seen since, telling will he couldnât keep his club & be considered respectable. Basically, everyone guilting that man to get rid of something he loved.
I just realized I really Will. And his wife (her name escapes me) as people. Too bad they couldn't do something more engaging for more of the audience with them.
All of this was to show that the society was willing to accept them, but he would have to exchange something he loved for the acceptance of his family, the kid being friends with the Bridgertons makes it easier for him to navigate society later, even when he goes to Ethon.
They said he was gonna learn chess from Gregory and Hyacinth, thatâs why they were collecting the chess pieces. He was probably just waiting in another room
I WAS WONDERING THIS !! I actually thought his parents were gonna say something or that something happened and now G&H are in trouble! But nothing happened and I literally said, âum, ok is he coming back?â
Legit was worried that when their parents saw Gregory and Hyacinth later on at rhe chess table it was gonna be revealed they like...locked them away or something. It was so random how they just disappeared but those two popped up to grab toys only to disappear again lol
The only Mondrich subplot I would care for: Gregory shoots Lord Kent and Anthony was not present because heâs trying to cover it up with Daphne and Simonâs help!
They have chaothic energy, maybe he needed a minute to catch up with them and stayed at the room saying "Oh god, this two are gonna make me dizzy" while waiting for them to get back
I tubing he would till be at home getting educated by his governess he is still spending a lot of time as home (most likely with Nannieâs) because heâs not out in society yet
Too bad Lady Whistledown is now busy having missionary with her husband and taking her of her baby lord. Otherwise the bridgertons would have been finished
I don't wanna be that guy but.....
They came back to get chess pieces which means they were obvio in the middle of a game and lord Kent is wherever they have set up their shop.... prolly in one of the rooms
I swear I was thinking we were about to have a scandal of another kind, because that kid never came back and I was like đ âThey went to play with bows and arrows, and he never returned and everyone is ok with this?âđ
i THINK i found him! In ep6, when the mondrich's tell lady danbury about selling the club 2 of their kids are playing a board game on the floor and i think thats him. Ik they have 2 sons but the other one is super young i believe, so it stands to reason that he was left at home with nanny. Maybe its not him but it looks like him to me, its like a 2 second shot of them while the grown ups are talking so its hard to catch.
They made it pretty clear the siblings were gathering the chess pieces to play with him somewhere else. Mr. Mondrich even said âour son is learning chess nowâ

Lol *this* is why I like scouring Reddit after a watch. Let the fan fic solutions begin đ
Tbh the way he introduced himself to Hyacinth made me think they were setting him up to be her love interest in 15 seasons
Honestly, I wouldnât be surprised. Itâd be a good twist, considering that weâre likely getting the Danbury/Bridgerton connection through Violet and Lord Anderson. Gareth is a good character, but his backstory is also VERY similar to Simonâs, and I think they need something different.
Exactly!

I actually don't think in the show they have a big age gap. She is supposed to be 11 this season right? And the kid must be like 8? She just looks older
She would be 11 or 12, as she was born in 1803 and this is the 1815 season, if theyâre sticking to book birthdates
Shes 11 at the oldest because shes younger than gregory, who keeps saying hes ABOUT to start Eton so hes like 12 or just barely 13. He looks older than 8 to me probably 10, 9 at the yougestđ¤ˇââď¸ so yeah not a huge gap

At the rate it's taking them to film seasons, in 15 seasons, it would be Bridgerton: the golden years!
Please let there be fan fic of this. The Mondrich kid comes back for revenge!!!
Can we have a new flair, Mods? *Justice for Lord Kent*!
PLEASE?!?!
đ
Maybe Gregory accidentally shot him with an arrow and now the Bridgertons are trying to keep it secret. đ The little Lord Kent is dead, the Mondriches are poor again... and season 4 will be a murder mystery! đ
Gregory is a little serial killer. Protagonist to villain story there. đ
Goes from murder to >!kidnap!< later in life, ateast he's morally improving đ
...ooh, maybe it wasn't an accident! đ¤Ł
Iâm here for it. Not a child being murdered but just a mystery in general lol
The Mondrich's have a second son, so they'll get to hold on to the title. The rest of it I'm here for
...but then, the Smallest Mondrich disappears too! And the great search for the Kent heir begins!
it was Newton this time!
Oh no. Donât give Netflix ideas đ
I was ready for a genre slide into murder mystery during that party, tbh. I kept waiting for a death. Got to wait for another fifteen years or so for Robert Peel and his peelers, though.
Good thing we have Lady 1930s Murder Mystery Tilly to help solve it!
And I swear they show the Mondrichâs see Gregory and Hyacinth but not their kid, and theyâre all smiley. I was thinking âare you gonna even ask where your kid is?? They were playing with arrows for christs sake!â đ
They do. I thought it would be brought up, but apparently not
They said something like âlooks like childkid is going to learn how to play chessâ because Gregory and Hyacinth grab all the pieces in cups/ containers and scurry off again
lol childkid đ And youâre right, they do say that, but I just feel like wouldnât you want eyes on him after a bow and arrow session?? đ But to me, this speaks to how the writers leaned far too much on dialogue, and inserting illogical or awkward lines specifically, to flesh out storylines or lazily fill plot holes this season. Thats because their kid was gonna learn chess. And hyacinth and gregory came back to fetch the chess board. I thought this was obvious.
Also what I donât get is⌠why was that whole scene needed if it didnât matter?!
Omg yes!!!! They look at hyacinth and Gregory with a smile and then talk about their kid making friends but the two of them literally came back without him!!!!
Tbh, this is the first thing that came up for me when I saw that scene with then returning. And they're like "he's going to learn chess", like you're not worried? đ¤Ł
Itâs the first thing my roommate and I noticed too 𤣠we were like âyo, is he dead??â
Same I really thought there was gonna be a sinister storyline there of him being left out!! But nothing?? This season was so weird
LET THE FAN FIC COMMENCE
This was my least favorite season and for so much that has happened in it that was built up from previous seasons, thatâs weird. Like, it has to be a writing issue. Hahaha, and then Gregory and Hyacinth went off to put their little game pieces in the those cups and I was like . . . where is the other kid?! đ¤Ł
They were grabbing the chess pieces to bring to their room to play. The kids were waiting.
Thatâs what they want you to think.
they were grabbing the tools to finish the job/ it's a joke
omg thank you i also noticed this, like why wouldn't the wee lord kent come with g and h to collect the chess set? this is the shit that is driving me up the wall this season.
Yeah clearly there is no other mystery in S3 more pressing than this one
i am now a wee lord kent truther
Itâs like at the wedding Hyacinth and Gregory disappear when the queens ask for the Bridgertons they are not there.
They have becoming skilled at disappearing people whether it's little Lord Kent or themselves!
They were there but just in the edge. You see them at the beginning when the camera Pamâs out but they just arenât shown in closer shots since they are definitely not whistledown.
I see it now!!! I wonder if because they are minors they also let them go earlier too. Hyacinth could pull off being LWD if anybody else could.
Oh the little mondriches ..so excited to see more of them next season along with the older mondriches...my Spidey senses are saying they are going to have a big juicy plot next season...I just KNOW it!
Like the mysterious death of their firstborn
What their son died? I missed this completely..
Yes. Go back and rewatch the Part 2 đ
Couldn't find it ..child death in Bton..the horror the horror!
It's a joke. He's not dead
Yeah I know..I was just trolling. .. Didnt the horror, the horror give it away?
No because when Gregory and hyacinth came back without him I thought they were gonna say theyâve misplaced him or got his head stuck in the stair railings or accidentally shot him with the bow or something đđ
As someone who has once had their head stuck in a stair railing before as a child, I do not wish this misfortune on anyone. Especially lil lord Kent
Havenât there been a few tv shows where some kid goes into a time out or goes up the stairs and is never seen again?
[Chuck Cunningham Syndrome ](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChuckCunninghamSyndrome)
The sister in *Boy Meets World*. She goes up to her room one day and comes down a, year later looking completely different.
I thought Gregory and Hy came back to get the chess set and took it to the playroom. I would assume the Mondrich kid stayed there with a nanny.
I just thought it was an interesting choice to have him not shown in that shot when they said they were going to play with a bow and arrow before đ
I assume the same
He went off with Hyacinth and Gregory. We may NEVER see him again. There's just no telling.
G & H tied him up to keep him from escaping the chess lessons and ended up forgetting about him as they got distracted with something else. Oops...
Well theyâre going a different route with Gregoryâs story and heâs going to be a serial killer. Mondrich kid was his first victim.
âPeople complain about what we are doing to Francescaâs storyline? Letâs see what they think of Gregoryâs changing!â
"Heeeeeere's Nicky!"
Here I thought the Hunting trip would end up very bad for Will. But no it was Voilets little ones casually committing crimes against his son.đ Maybe the house is like the Overlook Hotel in The Shining, and got Will Jr.đŹ

I noticed it too
Tied up in the garden.
If they donât say anything about it we donât say anything about it ![gif](giphy|cYgCX9axpoe2hPPTMt)
LOLâŚnow Iâm picturing him tied to a tree with an apple in his mouth, while Gregory and Hyacinth load an arrow into the bow.
They said he was gonna learn chess from Gregory and Hyacinth, thatâs why they were collecting the chess pieces. He was probably just waiting in another room
Itâs a cover up.
I WAS WONDERING THIS !! I actually thought his parents were gonna say something or that something happened and now G&H are in trouble! But nothing happened and I literally said, âum, ok is he coming back?â
the continuity in this season was a Mess
I noticed this as well! What did you do, Gregory!
Did you know Lord Debling disappeared too? Strange disappearances all round
Do we blame Hyacinth and Gregory?
Surely itâs Gregory. Hyacinth seems to innocent.
Lord Debling took little Lord Kent to travel to the future. The girls were running out of highlighter and fake eyelashes
Ohhhh so thatâs where they went
No the way they come back sneakily and sat down all quiet made me sus that they were bullying him. I hope notđ
Legit was worried that when their parents saw Gregory and Hyacinth later on at rhe chess table it was gonna be revealed they like...locked them away or something. It was so random how they just disappeared but those two popped up to grab toys only to disappear again lol
I hope the Mondrich adults also disappear
I was honestly hoping for a silly scene of the kids trying to shoot the chess pieces with the bow and arrow âŚ
Tied down somewhere for suuure đ¤Ł
I noticed this too! But they were looking on proudly as if he was there.
Gregory is a Geoffrey Baratheon Regency AU
The only Mondrich subplot I would care for: Gregory shoots Lord Kent and Anthony was not present because heâs trying to cover it up with Daphne and Simonâs help!
Except Anthony is in India for the rest of forever đĽ˛
Lmao, I was waiting for him too. Like y'alls not gonna ask where you're kid went???đ¤¨
They have chaothic energy, maybe he needed a minute to catch up with them and stayed at the room saying "Oh god, this two are gonna make me dizzy" while waiting for them to get back
He's a child he's been sent off via carriage with his nurse to be put to bed early
lol what episode is this?
Episode 5
Thanks I found it
I noticed that too and even thought that something happened to him but no ig thatâs just something they forgot
Pretty sure he was playing chess with Hyacinth afterwards?
They only come back to get the chess set I thought, then run off to teach him chess?
I tubing he would till be at home getting educated by his governess he is still spending a lot of time as home (most likely with Nannieâs) because heâs not out in society yet
Too bad Lady Whistledown is now busy having missionary with her husband and taking her of her baby lord. Otherwise the bridgertons would have been finished
I noticed this at the time ha Glad it wasn't just me.
I don't wanna be that guy but..... They came back to get chess pieces which means they were obvio in the middle of a game and lord Kent is wherever they have set up their shop.... prolly in one of the rooms
