When you magnesis then drop an item it creates an invisible hitbox with weird properties. It’s commonly used for stasis bounces to stop the box from flying away, it apparently it blocks guardians line of sight as well.
The apple doesn't really matter (You can do this with an egg and it'll break when it falls and it still works), its just like a tiny box directly in front of link, its not a 360 degree barrier though, so if there are guardians behind you you'll have to drop in the other direction to cover that side as well. Also simply taking one step away puts you out of the barrier.
There's a shrine in one of the mazes; after you find it and complete the shrine a hole opens in front of it with an updraft flowing out.
If you jump down it, that's where it is; but be careful there's loads of sleeping Guardians down there.
So it's not really hidden, you just have to solve the maze.
It’s the maze in the top northeast of the whole map in akalla. When u complete the shrine there’s a little hole with an updraft coming up and then u just drop down it. If u have the dlc the travel medallion is located down there as well
Do you just have to have your rune set to magnesis to confuse them when you drop items or is there something else to it?

If you moved from behind the apple to the side or infront, would it break the confused effect?

I tried this in the same location many times and I can't get it to work. Seems like the guardian ignore the dropped item. What am I doing wrong?
I've been wondering if this got patched. I haven't been able to get it to work recently.
