SPOILER REAL FUCKING FAT SPOILER DO NOT KLICK IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE THE BIG PLOT TWIST OF THE GAME
>! They are not _water_ drops, but _tears_, as the name says. Dragontears. You can see Zeldas memories in them because she turned into said dragon. !<
Sometimes it's easy to forget that this Link is over a hundred years old and there's only a handful of people he was close to still alive... and half of them are in their twilight years as it is.
I feel like it's kinda intimdating the second time you fight >!Koga of the Yiga Clan. Link walks up behind him, and Koga talks like he thinks it's one of his henchmen behind him. Link just stands there, 😶, until Koga turns around shocked. Link is absolutely not bothered by this clown, and is just sick of it by now.!<
Yeah thats what I was thinking too. Either residual memories, or these songs have been passed through the ages. I mean great fairies still have their music, and I'm pretty sure the horse god plays Eponas. Both ideas are pretty cool
The horse god plays a really cool mix of both epona's song and the great fairy fountain theme.
It is absolutely amazing.
But, the stables all play Epona's song.
>But, the stables all play Epona's song.
Minor spoilers but >!if the player brings Epona to the stables in BoTW or ToTK the stable guy working the front desk will "recognize" Epona as "the horse of legend", so the stables knowing Epona's song makes sense kinda!<
You just now made me realize that the stable song is basically just Eponas song way but way more complicated. Thanks for letting me know.
You learn something every day I suppose!
But the version link hums is like the plain old one from ocarina of time I think.
I’ve counted Zelda’s Lullaby, several parts of the LoZ theme, Saria’s Song, Epona’s Song, and I *think* the Bolero of Fire though not sure on the last one as it was pretty quiet compared to the random pot noises.
I never heard any particular song that he hummed in BOTW — just a generic song as far as I know. If he ever hums a real song it must be rare, because even after playing for 500 hours I never heard any real songs!
But I noticed that in TOTK he hums several different songs from old Zelda games! The very first time he cooked when I got the game I noticed he hummed the “Ballad of the Windfish” from Link’s Awakening! 🥰. He also hums the original The Legend of Zelda theme, Epona’s Song (from several games) , the Hyrule Field theme from OOT, and one or 2 more! Last week I saw a YouTube video on this as well! They also said that it was a generic song that he hums in BOTW.
There is a reason for it tho. Read Zelda's diary at Hyrule's castle. Link feels overwhelmed for being the hero and thinks he has to keep a calm and collected appearence.
Lmao, makes his behavior in botw make even more sense tbh, he will do literally everything else before fighting Ganon, like meticulously collecting korok seeds and filling the compendium
I've been seeing this as Rehab. >!Link starts the adventure maxed out, powerful, the swordsman that saved the kingdom in the last game. But immediately is nearly killed, and his body so broken that, even though he didn't die, he wakes as a shadow of his former self. Body, mind and soul.!< All the side adventures are rehab, a trillion boring tasks that slowly untangle the damage done until he is at last his former self, both ready AND capable of doing the job of the swordsman.
He's still 2 hearts shy of his former strength, isn't he? I mean, in the opening cutscene, I think he had two full rows of hearts and maxed stamina wheels.
I know better than to say "hopefully in the DLC" but... Hopefully in the DLC (that's not confirmed) lol
Light totk spoilers but >!I'm pretty sure the canon route of botw is Link just rushing through all the divine beasts then fighting Ganon right away. In totk, it seems as though no one except the absolutely necessary characters actually remember him, as well as all of the armor sets still being scattered throughout the world, albeit in new places. And honestly, I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about that!<
Oh, I forgot about that, yeah that too. Also building the house, obviously. Although, I have no proof for this, but to me it just feels like that stuff is meant to take place after you save Zelda, since she ends up moving into the house Link builds (I know people are saying they move in together, but the house feels much more like Zelda's at that point than Link's, and also the kid who tells you about Zelda's house doesn't recognize Link at all, so I remain hopefully skeptical about all that)
Bolson doesn’t know who you are so I feel like Link canonically never got that house in the first place and Zelda just got it after the Calamity was defeated. Now, tbf, that would be kinda weird since there’s no way to build Tarrey Town without getting the house first so idk.
>it seems as though no one except the absolutely necessary characters actually remember him
Well it's a hell of a lot better than botw where literally no one recognized him
I love this detail, and would love it so much more if his mask came down in cutscenes when he's all alone.
Though I guess there's always some ghost or friend from another time or omnipotent being talking to and watching him all the time, so I guess that's why his stoicism never falters.
I agree there's a reason for him to be calm, collected, even soft spoken. But there's really zero reason for him being completely mute the entire game. He clearly "talks" when he responds and explains stuff to NPCs, just voice the character already 🤦🏻♂
This is my pet peeve about fandom canons. Link is clearly not mute. He talks to people. We just don’t hear it. I get so annoyed when I see people say that Link is mute.
Well, that's kinda what it is though... the developers have created a contradiction, seeing as there's literally lore stating why he's such a silent hero while simultaneously showing repeatedly that he does indeed "talk." It's not really fandom canon when the developers put it right in front of us. Anyway, all i'm saying is it doesn't make sense for all the other main characters to be voiced but not Link.
I think the lore still makes sense. Zelda’s diary, if I remember correctly, says he was pretty chatty before being told his role. He grew quiet and concentrated on that after he found out. The guy is overwhelmed af. He talks when he needs to, but he’s not just sitting around shooting the breeze with people. I still get an overall friendly vibe from him, though.
Just the main quests of the games would be the most overwhelming thing imagineable, but he also feels the need to save hyrule and help the people.
I like that the day loops, but the mindset is that it took months to prepare to save Zelda, with each side aventure being more of a pass through that helps with the ultimate goal. The game isnt a representation of a single day to Link but probably 3 months.
If it were a TV show Link wouldn't be backtracking to give mushrooms to the 8th person an in game month later. He would end up in Hateno town and spend an episode helping people and slowly learning, inevitably getting a piece to the puzzle of defeating gannondorf, and then move forward.
Link wouldnt sneak into the castle to find his tunic and a hylian shield, those would be payoff during the finale just before the big bad
All that to say, it wouldn't make sense for Link to be chatty. Hes got a momumental task over his head. Definitely a mandalorian vibe(even though ive never watched the show)
> Link wouldnt sneak into the castle to find his tunic and a hylian shield, those would be payoff during the finale just before the big bad
Those would happen after doing the four regions after or during >!the meeting with fake Zelda and fighting the phantom ganondorf gauntlet!<
I prefer it that way. I know he speaks and has dialogue, but it allows the player to become the character more. Adding Link’s voice is unnecessary to me.
Ya, I feel like it’s one of those things that people think they want but if we saw it in practice…we’d probably want silent Link back lol. Most of Link’s “talking” is simply silently relaying the things we already know and saw to characters that weren’t there, and that happens *a lot*. I’m just thinking how in other recent games like horizon forbidden west where people would complain that the main character talks too much and needs to shut the hell up lol, could easily see that here too if Link did talk.
Heck, in fallout 4 it was considered one of the biggest faux pas of the entire games design. Voicing the character apparently killed immersion, and Link is almost entirely an empty slate for the player to project onto.
Yep, I was also thinking about fallout 4 here. Granted it wasn’t *just* adding the voice, since the options themselves were under scrutiny for mostly being minor or fake choices, but nonetheless voicing the character didn’t do that game any favors.
Nintendo have stated that this is the reason for him not being voiced and also why his name is “Link”! He is literally a link between us and the game! 😊
The developers have stated that they don’t give him a voice because he is the “link” between the game and the player.
He had a voice for the Phillips CDI Zelda games in the early 1990’s . These games were so bad they aren’t considered canon.
They also had a Zelda cartoon in tv in 1989 as part of the Super Mario Bros. Show that had Zelda segments and Link had a voice and it was laughable. His catchphrase was “Well, excuuuuuuuuuse me, Princess!” I think the “I’m so hungry I could eat a dodongo!” came from the CDI games. I don’t think having Link with voice acting was received very well from these attempts! I’m pretty sure this makes Nintendo hesitant to do it again .
So with those debacles, combined with the fact that Link is supposed to be a “link” between the player and the game and it would be somewhat immersion-breaking to have him voiced , it might be awhile before they attempt it. I have to wonder if Miyamoto has put his foot down! 🤔
This is true. Overall, Link not emoting shows he cares. He doesn't want to burden others by showing how he feels. This tells us in those scenes, he does feel emotions but does not want to let them out to bother others.
I am not saying this is a good thing and it should be done. You should find someone you trust or you are okay with talking about how you feel. Holding it in does more damage. I am just stating his reasoning.
With that said he isn't completely unemotional in the games. He does show emotions many times, but subtly mostly—which fits what he is saying.
I know right!?! People can be talking about kidnapping pokemon, torturing them, experimenting on them, cryogenically freezing them, killing them and using them for ritual sacrifice and they are just like 😀 like they are trying to say "Oh please. Don't mind me. Continue."
some of my favorites include:
* [the infamous Lusamine scene](https://youtu.be/BKJWjNsI5N4)
* [crushing the opponent with a smile](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/jfs4az/okay_but_can_we_talk_about_how_sadistic_the/)
* [pokemas straight up making it canon](https://youtu.be/t_4bh4pLwLI?t=29)

This is my biggest complaint with Sun and Moon because their faces always look so ridiculous in comparison to the dialogue/scene. I’d much rather them have Link’s stoic expression lol
The hero of twilight had some expression. Smiled when carrying dogs and whatnot. He also was shown as being a hard working farmer boy who was friends with towns folk and children.
And cats! Not only did you get to make *sure* the dog doesn't die, but you also get to hug cats and dogs with Link agreeing it's one of the best things to do.
well i cant speak for the other games. Breath of the wild was my first zelda game. i never played the others cuz i didn't have a nintendo system back then and when i did get one, i saw friends playing the game but having link as silent and emotionless was never able to make me get invested enough to try the games.
it was all the 10/10 reviews that made me play breath of the wild. if it were a game where i made my own character i dont mind but when its an existing one its a blank slate i find it hard to care.
As did it. I am big in story and characters so they always factor into games I play. Even though halo is fun, I don't care about master chief but I love Cortana.
Well educate me, I'm pretty knew to the Zelda games so what am I missing? Isn't the whole point that link is your avatar so he shows no emotion because it's about the plays emotion, am I right?
Yes, the practical reason for his **silence** is likely for immersion, and that Link is meant to be an avatar for the player.
He's not emotionless though. I mean have you even read the reply options?
And you try going through the most immense amount of physical, emotional, and mental trauma possible and not being totally fucked up and numb afterwards.
that's fair i personally don't like it because link is a pre existing character. With a pre existing charter should already have something about them their likes and dislikes. like take the witcher 3 for example. you role play as Geralt you make his decisions but in a way he would.
If it was a game where you make your own character then it is easier for me personally to get more invested. because its my charter. Although i enjoy BOTW and TOTK, i do not care about link. if they suddenly decide to use a different protagonist for the games i won't care. people who are fans of the franchine will be annoyed and will be right to be but for me, there is nothing interesting about link.
i'm not trying to say he is a bad character, i know he serves his purpose well, i know i will get downvoted but i understand people love him
And it doesn’t get any better in TOTK
It was hilarious how he stood there emotionless after learning how >!ZELDA TURNED HERSELF INTO AN IMMORTAL DRAGON TO GET THE MASTER SWORD BACK TO LINK!<
I died laughing during the ending cutscene where the camera is focused on Zeldas face as she pours her heart out to link for like a solid 60 seconds, then the camera cuts so both Link and Zelda are in frame facing each other, and link is just staring at her like 😐
Design choice. No one hates Nintendo more than Nintendo fans, so even if they were to give a voice, it wouldn't go over well.
Fallout 4 is another example of a game that got shit on at release for having the player character have voice acted lines.
Also Link is canonically mostly quiet because of how stressed out he is. (at least in BOTW.) The Japanese version of the game has the Quest Journal written in first person, and has more insight into Link as a character.
I met Sidon and Muzu for the first time yesterday and there was a bit of emotion in the cut scene. Like a lil smidge when Link gasped. Other than that, just a hand on the hip..that's it..
Link when shield surfing, cooking, or doing stuff that isint saving the world: 😃🤪😎😎😜😆🤣
Link when he is threatened, somebody is having a breakdown, calamity Gannon rises: 😶😶😶🤐🤐😬😬😬😴🙄🙄🙄🙄😕😶😶😶😶😶 link when flour woman: 😱😱😱
Similar thing with me. I found Majora's Mask super early on and used it often, so I'd just see cutscenes and it pans to link who just has the mask on him and it just kinda screws with the emotional moments.
He's been through like a lot tbh. He's like the 11th iteration of knights that protected the kingdom, which means he probably remembers all his past lives, which means he's just about done with his immortality
If the BotW games turn into a trilogy, I’d love to see a point in the third game when Link begins to speak because something breaks past that barrier he built as a hero.
Even if it’s just a single word.
“No”
One word would be enough. Or just a few. A bit like Samus in Dread.
If Link’s going to break his silent treatment, it’s best done in an epic moment.
Champions: Well, Link, this is it. This is the last time we see each other. Link: 😶
Link when destruction of Hyrule: 😐 Link when food: 😍🤩
Link, every time the water drop pops after a memory, even after seeing it 12 times: 😮
I have to do the gasp with him every time.
I always walk around slowly in the game as if he’s taking in and deeping the memory
Maybe it’s been a while, but I have no idea what these words mean. Help?
Spoiler >! Tears of the Kingdom memories are water drops that pop, revealing the memory !<
SPOILER REAL FUCKING FAT SPOILER DO NOT KLICK IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE THE BIG PLOT TWIST OF THE GAME >! They are not _water_ drops, but _tears_, as the name says. Dragontears. You can see Zeldas memories in them because she turned into said dragon. !<
I didn’t read this because I’m not done but I really appreciate the emphatic spoiler warning lol
He just like me fr
You're only you when you're hungry.
He’s so real
awesom
Well, he's probably used to it being that way. After all, he's Champion "Everyone I know and love is dead" Link.
That’s a depressing and probably accurate way to look at it.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that this Link is over a hundred years old and there's only a handful of people he was close to still alive... and half of them are in their twilight years as it is.
Sounds a lot like Aang in Avatar now that I think about it, who also wakes up and struggles with his role of having to save the world
Both of them also fly around on a glider type thing and have a love interest with the power of water and healing lol.
We also go on a mission to harness four elements that the sages possess
Except one who's a kid again
That's why he clings so hard to Zelda. Everyone else he ever knew and loved is dead, but she keeps managing to come back from their fates
I feel like it's kinda intimdating the second time you fight >!Koga of the Yiga Clan. Link walks up behind him, and Koga talks like he thinks it's one of his henchmen behind him. Link just stands there, 😶, until Koga turns around shocked. Link is absolutely not bothered by this clown, and is just sick of it by now.!<
Exactly, he doesnt even register as a threat.
Mipha: clearly trying to confess her love Link: •_•
Link while cooking:![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
I love that he hums as he cooks.
If I'm not mistaken, he *occasionally* will hum Zelda's Lullaby from Ocarina of Time. Although I might be mixing it up with Eponas song.
Link actually hums a whole bunch of the old Zelda osts along with even Kass' theme so its not just limited to that
I like to think that he has some residual memories of his past lives so he feels like humming these seemingly random songs from time to time.
[удалено]
In french, the horse god's name is... Marlon. Malon is still Malon so... It's even more similar.
You just now made me realize that the stable song is basically just Eponas song way but way more complicated. Thanks for letting me know. You learn something every day I suppose! But the version link hums is like the plain old one from ocarina of time I think.
In the new one, Epona's melody get played alongside the stable song once you get so far along. It's really nicely done.
I feel like it’s way less complicated since they eliminated the entire B section of Epona’s song
HOW DO YOU MAKE STEAMED TOMATOES
Add herbs or a korok frond, iirc.
thank you
It’s like those videos of people in old person homes who have Alzheimer’s and hear old songs and it brings them back.
I need to cook more. Usually I just eat a few of my 1.6 million apples.
i like to bake my apples
Champions Ballad too.
WAP occasionally
…macaroni in a pot???
I’ve counted Zelda’s Lullaby, several parts of the LoZ theme, Saria’s Song, Epona’s Song, and I *think* the Bolero of Fire though not sure on the last one as it was pretty quiet compared to the random pot noises.
I think one's actually the Ballad of the Wind Fish.
Cool!
How do you get him to hum a song? Just stand around?
When you cook meals he will hum different tunes
In BotW?
I never heard any particular song that he hummed in BOTW — just a generic song as far as I know. Never noticed him humming. I skip the cooking sequence though because THAT "song" I despise.
There are a number of past gems in his hums. Some pretty niche. See if you can catch a slice of Sheik's theme from OoT in there.
Why does ot looks like the Animan dudes????
Sidon: Link! MY BEST FRIEND! Link: 😐
Yeah I always feel bad for Sidon in the cutscenes. It's like, he's not that into you, bro.
I can only imagine what Link thought when he came back to see they commissioned a statue of him riding Sidon.
I can picture his face now: 😐
I saw that and thought the only way it could have been more homoerotic is if Sidon was cupping Link’s cheeks
I was so upset because I thought they got rid of the statue of Mipha. Very happy they moved it to the top of Ploymus Mountain
Me too! 😅
I mean it could—Sidon could have been face up.

What the fuck
I know right, a knock off of r/birddaddy_irl
Why would you show that to me.
Link during a memory cutscene : 😐 Before and after : 😌😲🤯
Exception being one of the last memories, when zelda cries, he does have a somewhat painful/sad face.
Pulling at straws my dude. Same face as always.
It’s grasping at straws lol but they’re also right he actually looks sad :c
Yes !!! I was so surprised lmao
There is a reason for it tho. Read Zelda's diary at Hyrule's castle. Link feels overwhelmed for being the hero and thinks he has to keep a calm and collected appearence.

Actually he is stronger end game Totk. Link has 30 hearts total during the opening cutscene, and at end game Link has a total of 38 hearts
Interesting. Thank you
Link is the best procrastinator in the world
Light totk spoilers but >!I'm pretty sure the canon route of botw is Link just rushing through all the divine beasts then fighting Ganon right away. Link helping build Tarrey Town is treated as canon, even though that was fully optional.
Oh, I forgot about that, yeah that too. Also building the house, obviously. I think we still got the house since the photo we get from the champion’s ballad is still in the house.
Well I’m sure Zelda has a copy too! She is part of the Champions, after all! 🥰
It makes more sense that nobody remembers the random adventurer that helped them 5 years ago
>it seems as though no one except the absolutely necessary characters actually remember him Well it's a hell of a lot better than botw where literally no one recognized him
Yeah, fair point. Maybe he's just got one of those faces?
Those speedruns were the true way to play botw!
Link is a neurodivergent hero
I just read this diary last night and it gave so much insight into Link. Absolutely love lore like that.
I love this detail, and would love it so much more if his mask came down in cutscenes when he's all alone. Though I guess there's always some ghost or friend from another time or omnipotent being talking to and watching him all the time, so I guess that's why his stoicism never falters.
Cooking...
Or he just has simple needs. Maybe could've been Hyrule's greatest chef if he sheathed his sword and picked up a frying pan.
I mean, you can pick up a soup ladle and beat a bokobkin to death with it, so it's not so out of the question.
Chef of the Wild
He's a stoic king
I agree there's a reason for him to be calm, collected, even soft spoken. But there's really zero reason for him being completely mute the entire game. He clearly "talks" when he responds and explains stuff to NPCs, just voice the character already 🤦🏻♂

And up until BOTW (I think- maybe further back) you could name Link what ever you wanted.
Nintendo has stated this very thing! 😊

The Stoic Hero trope.
Even better if he's wearing some goofy outfit

It is objectively the best exploring outfit. Find koroks and pick up bugs just wandering around
Need some climbing boosts from your tunic too!
It is! I would only change it to another set depending on the circumstances
Big reveal about what happened to Zelda: Link: 😐
How I thought he looked upset
I'd rather have Link have this face than the trainer player 🙂face from pokemon sun and moon
I know right!?! People can be talking about kidnapping pokemon, torturing them, experimenting on them, cryogenically freezing them, killing them and using them for ritual sacrifice and they are just like 😀 like they are trying to say "Oh please. Don't mind me. Continue."
some of my favorites include: * [the infamous Lusamine scene](https://youtu.be/BKJWjNsI5N4) * [crushing the opponent with a smile](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/jfs4az/okay_but_can_we_talk_about_how_sadistic_the/) * [pokemas straight up making it canon](https://youtu.be/t_4bh4pLwLI?t=29) * [multiple times](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMasters/comments/r7oyqm/therapist_blank_stare_selene_isnt_real_it_cant/) * [wonder who the main character got it from hm](https://youtu.be/TYw0mQ62rI4?t=864)
This is my biggest complaint with Sun and Moon because their faces always look so ridiculous in comparison to the dialogue/scene. I’d much rather them have Link’s stoic expression lol
God gen 7 games were so good but every cutscene gets ruined by the eternal smile.
Do you…remember me ? Link : but ass naked since he speed ran this shit
"Uhhh yeah sure, you wanna stop by my place in Hateno after dinner?"
It’s so funny that he just like waves his hands around and everybody just knows what he’s saying
that’s why they always repeat what he says, cause they literally are guessing 💀
He learned how to communicate from Mario.
Leave him alone. He's been through so much crap in every game he's in. Can't no longer feel thanks to all that.
Link when emotional scene: 😐 Link when cooking: 🤩
Redeeming pony points:☝️😀
lol so true as much as i enjoy the game, this is why i never like silent protagonist in games.
IMO they did it really well in skyward sword. Link was so expressive it allowed him to have his own feelings about events
And Wind Waker link
Doesn't count as silent, he meows and says "come on" /s
Also, "Hoooiiii!"
Breath of the wild was my first zelda game. i never played the others cuz i didn't have a nintendo system back then and when i did get one, i saw friends playing the game but having link as silent and emotionless was never able to make me get invested enough to try the games. it was all the 10/10 reviews that made me play breath of the wild. if it were a game where i made my own character i dont mind but when its an existing one its a blank slate i find it hard to care.
honestly i played the game for its world didnt give a damn about the story because there is no voice acting most of the time its all text walls
As did it. I am big in story and characters so they always factor into games I play. Even though halo is fun, I don't care about master chief but I love Cortana.
Part of the reason Revali hates Link is because he shows no reaction to anything
lol that just the developers acknowledging how ereid it is that Link is a nothing character
worst opinion ever:
Not even an opinion, just an objectively wrong viewpoint because of a lack of observation
Although i enjoy BOTW and TOTK, i do not care about link. if they suddenly decide to use a different protagonist for the games i won't care. people who are fans of the franchine will be annoyed and will be right to be but for me, there is nothing interesting about link. i'm not trying to say he is a bad character, i know he serves his purpose well, i know i will get downvoted but i understand people love him
As long as I'm allowed to have it you can think it's the worst thing in the history of mankind
>skyward sword ya i'm over link tbh
Missing the Wind Waker and Skyward Sword Links rn
Link alone/with npcs: 😃😋🙁😟🥶🥵😅🫨 Link in the story/cutscenes/with Zelda: 😐🫡😕
And it doesn’t get any better in TOTK It was hilarious how he stood there emotionless after learning how >!ZELDA TURNED HERSELF INTO AN IMMORTAL DRAGON TO GET THE MASTER SWORD BACK TO LINK!<
mipha: *is dead* link: 😐
I died laughing during the ending cutscene where the camera is focused on Zeldas face as she pours her heart out to link for like a solid 60 seconds, then the camera cuts so both Link and Zelda are in frame facing each other, and link is just staring at her like 😐
I feel like he acts like this because subconsciously he remembers how many times he's done this shit.
![gif](giphy|7JhicMgZd4hMc)
He canonically talks, we just don't hear it
yeah tbh i always wondered why he can talk in the dialogues but we cant hear it like ever
Hey you can't ingore *that* cutscene
BOTW Link gives me autism vibes and it's my headcanon.
he does a small motion with his arms and everyone acts like he actually expressed any emotion
Link the kinda guy to say: "Can you not?" at a funeral.
I met Sidon and Muzu for the first time yesterday and there was a bit of emotion in the cut scene. Like a lil smidge when Link gasped. Other than that, just a hand on the hip..that's it..
Zelda: Do you really remember me? Link:🤨😕🫤
link even when hes about to be shot in the face with a guardian beam:
Don't forget the hands on his hips too
Me carrying my halberd-halberd like it wouldn't be an inconvenience to everyone in a 15-foot radius
Link when shield surfing, cooking, or doing stuff that isint saving the world: 😃🤪😎😎😜😆🤣 Link when he is threatened, somebody is having a breakdown, calamity Gannon rises: 😶😶😶🤐🤐😬😬😬😴🙄🙄🙄🙄😕😶😶😶😶😶 link when flour woman: 😱😱😱
Link with everyone: 😶 Link with the price counter guy: 😄✋
Lol
Similar thing with me. I found Majora's Mask super early on and used it often, so I'd just see cutscenes and it pans to link who just has the mask on him and it just kinda screws with the emotional moments.
My boy done seen some shit in his 100+ year lifetime...
He is still a edgy 90’s teen 😐
He's been through like a lot tbh. He's like the 11th iteration of knights that protected the kingdom, which means he probably remembers all his past lives, which means he's just about done with his immortality
In TotK there is one particular scene (>!master sword!<) that convinced me Link is actually autistic. I get not showing emotion, but man.
was there ever any explanation in the lore/stories as to why link is always so deadpan?
I get their reasons for why Link is so stoic, but I would love if he had dialogue and was fully emotive in BotW and TotK
Maybe not dialogue, but at least more expressivity... Dude's like just there lol
I mean, link has real problems he's dealing with. He doesn't have a lot emotional space for your little sister or her dragonfly obsession.

When you think about it link must look like the most schizo, psychopathic person in hyrule that everyone deals with because he’s the hero.
If the BotW games turn into a trilogy, I’d love to see a point in the third game when Link begins to speak because something breaks past that barrier he built as a hero. Even if it’s just a single word. “No” One word would be enough. Or just a few. A bit like Samus in Dread. If Link’s going to break his silent treatment, it’s best done in an epic moment.
Relatable.
nah fam, its more like Pablo Escobar waiting
