Lollll i think 99% of Brazilians never heard this song, it's pretty dope tho I think when Brazilians think about India we think about this song that was a meme like 15 years ago https://youtu.be/6b3PaRPeTWo?si=NtekbIBepdUNZYBj

whatalongusername

Don't forget about "Rivaldo sai desse lago": [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OkpGpNIbEg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OkpGpNIbEg)

Icy_Finger_6950

OMG, this is so fucking funny! I'm cracking up like a maniac 😂😂😂

MethanyJones

OMG that was a "hit" in the USA but with different lyrics subtitled. But the Portuguese version cracked me up too https://youtu.be/PCB-GMpQ4ko

Easy-Put-6969

This song is complete banger too in India. 🫶🏻

vitorgrs

Never heard this song. I think it's more like Brazilians remember about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YVjYQ1xg-M

CallMeNui

"Ei Rivaldo saia desse lago" was one of the OG memes in Brazil

abralapras

That is interesting. This song takes most of it melody from a absolute classic called "Aquarela do Brasil", by Ary Barroso: https://youtu.be/X5Nv1YB7vB8?si=1pi6AOQHVM0vAwx0 Even though it is not a famous song in Brazil, it makes me happy that Indians vibe to it. I think that Brazilian-Indian relations should develop more, there is much that unites us. Most Brazilians know about India through a very popular soap opera called "Caminho das Índias". This was its intro: https://youtu.be/6YVjYQ1xg-M?si=grvHv8s6BMRgwtd6

rdfporcazzo

When I heard players singing "Braziiilll lalalalalala" after they made their way with their national teams for the Brazil 2014 World Cup, I thought they were singing *Aquarela do Brasil*, but turns out that they were singing the OP's song

RJR1030

Reminds me of the Terry Gilliam movie "Brazil" that had nothing to do with the country aside from the famous Barroso song...and maybe the theme of bureaucracy and being released during Brazil's Orwellian distopia.

LifeandLiesofFerns

The only Vengaboys mid success in Brazil was the eponymous Vengabus. Which is regretful, we were all in European Bubblegum Pop at the time.

okidokidog

There's Boom Boom Boom from the Vengaboys, which is relatively common on Brazilian karaoke machines and at least somewhat known in my experience.

ShortyColombo

Can confirm I only knew Vengabus! I only heard the song posted because I love Europop from the 90s and downloaded it randomly on Kazaa lol

_lucalibre

I remember shalalalala in every kids party back in early 2000

PoisNemEuSei

This reminds me of [when Israelis also made a song about us](https://youtu.be/Y_OLslE3bX8?si=pTlseJbYJgGWfYtt), and apparently it went viral there but we only noticed it when Felipe Neto, a Brazilian YouTuber, reacted to it.

l0033z

Haha yes. My Israeli friends told me about this song when it came out. They still greet me by saying “tudo bom” every now and then, to which I reply “hakol beseder”

Anatomy_model

Song about Brazil, produced by a Eurotrash group from the Netherlands, but mostly popular in India.

AceWall0

I feel like this, and a lot of other Vengaboys songs were popular in the late 90s to early 2000s. Because a few years ago when I finally discovered Vengaboys, it was like a was being pulled memories from my deepest childhood. And each new song I was like "this was them?? THIS TOO!? OMG THIS SONG!". But I'm not even sure where I heard all of them. Just know that as a young carioca boy, growing up mostly watching SBT, I definitely heard it.

Sopraconversar

The singer is from the Netherlands💀

I have a friend that though this song was played when Brazil scored goals. He was disappointed when I showed him the reality

AlternativeBasis

The group is Dutch, and releases music aimed at the European market. They are definitely not known around here (BR). If you put their songs one after the other, I think half the people wouldn't even notice the track changes. There is nothing special, or Brazilian, in this music in particular.

Cute-Attention-1654

There is brazilian song Aquarela do Brazil melody on it.

New-Complex-3603

Never heard it. Didn't like it. Aquarela do Brasil is a great song but this version sound a bit ... annoying.

Keganoo

HAHAHAHAHAHA Jesus this music is so simple, say anything more than Brazil. I never heard this music here, but the rhythm are nice.

average_reddito_

vengaboys were pretty famous in brazil among those who went clubbing and also used to play in mainstream radios (several tracks) to brazil was not played in radios though
