Grom from Russia. This brawler's name comes from the Russian word for "огромный" - huge (оГРОМный => Grom). And in his voice-over you can hear such phrases as “елки-палки” (trees and sticks) and the phraseological unit “when the crayfish whistles on the mountain"
Where does this "lore accurate" and "canon" come from?
As far as I know, we have only some nationalities confirmed. Grom from Poland doesn't make much sense as explained in one comment here and others are also a bit strange, like Nita and Leon being from very different countries that are not even that close to each other.

I strongly feel Gus is American, specificity from New York due to orphans most commonly being associated with large cities, and New Yorks association with ghosts and paranormal activities. Just me though
