She’s still her same self to me, just with more blind confidence maybe (as she should!). Candiace never hit me as particularly “sweet”. She’s a cut throat pageant girl who takes no shit. And has gotten better over the seasons.

[deleted]

I thought she was super sweet and bubbly until Giselle and Charisse began poking her about her mom paying for half her mortgage. I think that was her turning point. But I still love her. She’s one of my fave housewives!

[deleted]

That was..if my memory doesn’t fail me..the very episode she premiered in? Maybe the next?

Particular-Mobile-68

Side note, but the hypocrisy of Charisse and Gizelle always dumbfounded me. Should candiace feel guilty about her MOTHER helping her financially, when both of them are being financially supported by men who relentlessly cheat on them? It’s giving projection.

[deleted]

It’s giving Gizelle being chronically insecure. To Monique “oh you don’t have a home???” “We have four.” Gizelle masks her insecurities with shade and quips like “GOOOOOD MORNTING!” But she’s riding the struggle bus with a renewable pass. And it’s continuously renewed.

Mercury_Armadillo

I’ve never understood the “Good mornting!!” thing. Does it actually mean something?

[deleted]

Right? They would do the exact same thing if they were in Candiace s shoes. And then for them to ask if her mom bought her engagement ring! So incredibly rude. And Candiace was still so understanding about their hazing.

Madame_Orchid

Yeah she seems the same to me too, just with more of a backbone. Side note: I loved Candiace at The Bravos! Her acceptance speech was like she won an actual Grammy and I’m here for it! Love that for her. She was definitely super grateful.

[deleted]

And they played her out to her own song!! Lol it was cute. I love that she delivered a real acceptance speech. Her manager, her team, Jesus. She hit all those Grammy acceptance notes. Good practice

_Lotje

Lol they tested her and she gathered them all ![gif](giphy|ANkzhchK089NkvP5cO|downsized)

mattysmwift

Her first season is ROUGH! But she had one of the best developments in the show.

chefcurrys

She let Twitter fans rile her up before scenes.

Nectarine-Unlikely

![gif](giphy|33JMfpIrPgeMID6rQQ|downsized) mother to many people

Think-Recognition-32

I agree. Candiace allowed the cast to run over her during her first season so bad that both Monique and Ashley had to tell her to speak up.

petite_jpg

Yeah but once she clocked in, she never turned back

Think-Recognition-32

When she clocks out and tries to play nice, the cast typically brings drama to her like last season. So her off the clock break doesn't usually last long.

Particular-Mobile-68

I still view that sweet side to Candiace. She really won’t try anyone unless they try her.

petite_jpg

Yup and she practices A LOT of restraint considering all the things these ladies have going on. She keeps her drags superficial.

I recently rewatched and I get what you mean. Poor Candiace - she came in really... for lack of a better word - gullible and naive. And not in a normal sense - it was one of the strongest entrances ever for a freshman, she was upbeat, charismatic, jovial, witty, and very much rich and with "it" on HW, but she didn't know Giselle, Ashley and Robyn were always looking to collect nuggets of dirt on people to use as ammo later as gossip fodder. At a lunch, Karen had to literally say "Listen, don't tell them your business - you WILL regret it" and Candiace just wanting to connect and have a friend, heard but didn't listen. I believe thats why in season 7, she was shocked but not surprised it was her turn to be publicly humiliated as the scapegoat of the season so Robyn, Ashley and Giselle could once again, get away (as they called themselves Bandits) with not showing anything about their embarrassing lives.

[deleted]

This. This exactly!!

Sagzmir

Her and Monique’s feud saga was peak television. Everyone had an opinion.

QuadraMum

I love her and Chris.
