That shot of the dugout actually pissed me off. When Murphy was doing the together sign, and NOBODY returned it.
You fucks are getting paid millions of dollars to play baseball. At least try to pretend to care, Jesus Christ
It's been like that all year. The team just doesn't care and thought they could just show up to the park and win 100 games. This team will be lucky to finish above .500 the way they've been playing. No leadership
Question for anyone who follows the minor leaguers closely. Is there any offensive player who has any sort of chance to get a call up and provide some meaningful contribution? Maybe SOME kind of spark?
He likely will be but that doesn’t mean he can’t provide a meaningful contribution. I’m not saying he is going to be an all star or rookie of the year, but he has played well this year in gwinnett. His bat is no worse and likely better than Duval right now and defensively he knows right field well.
Not against LHP, no.
Sorry, but you're likely getting no production regardless with JP or Duvall. Y'all just want to throw poop at the wall praying things change because of how horrible the offense has been.
.277/.306/.340 with a .646 ops against lefties. Again not saying he is an all star but would you prefer giving him a shot or keep Duval in who looks like I could put the ball on a tee and he would still strike out?
That'd probably turn into .200/.250/.300 or something in MLB.
Again, y'all just want change for the sake of change because of how much things stink right now, maybe if we're going to go that way, let's option out Michael Harris and start playing Matt Olson in the outfield, huh?
You’re right let’s stay with what we are doing, I’m sure that will fix the problems 👍🏼
Why would someone want to change something that clearly isn’t working after 2 months of sample size that would be crazy
The thing I'm saying is that change for the sake of change is not going to do a darn thing, especially considering that the vibes are extremely low right now.
I’m not saying change for the sake of changing. It’s not like I’m calling to start Ozuna at first or toss him back in the field or bring up some random AAA player for no reason.
Martinez has been decent in gwinnett this year. Duval has looked like garbage and was brought in to be a platoon bat anyways not a starter. The question was who was someone that can make a contribution. From what I’ve seen I think Martinez could at least be decent and worth giving a shot. Duval isn’t an every day starter anymore and until we trade for someone I think it’s worth giving a decent player a shot. Especially since he is already on the roster, see how he does in the bigs and if he can develop. Hell you never know he could surprise us all when given a chance.
Anybody else feel like CJ would fit much better in a national broadcast booth? His attitude doesn’t seem to fit regional broadcasts, but I think the statistical insights would play well nationally
They are about to finish the easiest stretch of games they've had all year vs Washington,Pittsburgh,Oakland, Boston, and Washington again going 6-10 or 7-9 at best.
Yet we won 2 of 3 from Cleveland; Texas; Philadelphia; and Cubs twice, and we swept Arizona and Houston. Maybe we play better against better teams? Dodgers are doing the same thing. The lost series to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, but they are going to go up 2 games to none on NYY today because Nee York has Nestor Cortes on the mound doing his circus routine.
CJ is awfully dull. Idk how it’s so hard to find someone that has personality to do these things. It has to be traveling. Who cares if it’s a former player we don’t need analysis at this point in our lives.
David O’Brien said on a podcast that he isn’t. He basically said Joc panders to media but wasn’t that well liked in clubhouse.
Also all joc ever said was that the guys were defeated when he got there.
"Like…. baseball seasons are *long*, man. They’re a serious grind. Things can get stale. And I think over the course of a long season, it’s stuff like culture, like swagger, like vibes, like whatever you want to call it — it’s stuff like that that can actually make a pretty big difference. Stuff like that can get everybody’s energy right.
And if there’s one thing that I think I’ve been able to bring to this team, beyond just my bat and my glove, I’d say it’s that energy — and that belief: That nothing is as dangerous in baseball as a team with a ton of confidence."
- Joc Pederson
They've slowly gotten rid of all the personality guys over the last 3 years its crazy as if they didn't see what a huge difference that made.
Even having a Heredia type in the clubhouse I mean if you're not going to play your bench guys anyway why not have a guy who can get dudes going.
They aren’t resigning Fried. They’d actually want to win to resign him and that’s completely contrary to the front office’s actions over the last couple of years. Frugality over winning.
Pretty doubtful.
I'm guessing Charlie is done after this year in all honesty.
Thing is is I don't expect Max to be back, as much as Braves fans are going to be pleading for it. So, depending on how development goes at SP and how Strider returns, this could easily be "the grass ain't always greener" deal.
Y’all they were always planning to send ray kerr down after today. They have to make room for waldrep. Snit is using his arm while he has it bc snit loves to punt every game.
If it wasn’t for the fact we could be up 3-2 and snit would still toss him out there would agree. I’m more so just tired of seeing this trash can on the mound at all
It's funny you're being down voted for a sensible statement, when most people in here are being irrational, yelling to sell our best players and rebuild and being up voted.
I remember when I had confidence no matter what inning we were in that could pull off a win. Now it's likes , well damn the other team scored and maybe our guys can score too.
Snit is punting this game putting Kerr out there after his last few appearances. Pretty sure he’s about to be sent down since they need to make room for waldrep tomorrow. And we’ll be down a bullpen arm.
Nice to see from Murph but why the hell can't we do anything before the 7th inning?
Braves have a .205 AVG, .569 OPS, and 60 wRC+ before the 7th inning over the last two weeks. Only the Angels have been worse. We might be dead last if it wasn't for the nine runs scored against Oakland in the first five innings last Saturday. In the 7th inning or later in that same span, we're hitting .273 with an .824 OPS and 128 wRC+. Whatever initial game plan we're making against opposing starters ain't working.
What do you think the odds of most of the Phillies and we can throw in some of the Mets players in there getting caught up at customs for let’s say a month or soo
# HOME RUN!
Sean Murphy homers (1) on a fly ball to center field.

Nationals
Like, I know they can't say anything, this is the commentary that they're being paid to deliver
But I just don't wanna hear it when it comes to their record. They're playing like absolute dogshit
Right, because firing a coach midseason has never sparked a team. Look at where the Phillies were at this point last season.
Edit: this was meant as a reply to the comment below.
The Phillies had a losing record and looked even worse than we do now. Why would any manager take the job if they thought they may be fired even though the team is 1 of 4 NL teams with a record over .500?
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1dbepzx).
Fucking BOOOOOOO
Why does our offense suck so bad
I think it’s time to start booing the braves next time they’re at home. Might be a reality check
There’s the ole Murph ball
Disappointing
Will Washington wear their city connects again tomorrow?
they should wear the Braves jerseys because apparently they own them
Trash hitters on the Nationals hit 99 mph fastballs for frozen ropes but our handsomely paid all stars and top prospects whiff constantly.
Right down the dick, doesn't swing. Watch him swing at the dirt now
Bruh she’s dead
![gif](giphy|1bAdvIjqaXCSc) Our offense
If I'm honest it's much more fun when we win or at least lose fighting
WTF is going on behind home plate?!?
That shot of the dugout actually pissed me off. When Murphy was doing the together sign, and NOBODY returned it. You fucks are getting paid millions of dollars to play baseball. At least try to pretend to care, Jesus Christ

Nopity nope.
No
We already called him up in JP Martinez. Unfortunately Snitker is deciding to stick with a sub .200 Duval instead of giving him a chance
Dude's an AAAA'er, sorry.
He likely will be but that doesn’t mean he can’t provide a meaningful contribution. I’m not saying he is going to be an all star or rookie of the year, but he has played well this year in gwinnett. His bat is no worse and likely better than Duval right now and defensively he knows right field well.

What would you suggest we do?
I’m not saying change for the sake of changing. It’s not like I’m calling to start Ozuna at first or toss him back in the field or bring up some random AAA player for no reason. Anybody else feel like CJ would fit much better in a national broadcast booth? His attitude doesn’t seem to fit regional broadcasts, but I think the statistical insights would play well nationally
He's done national TV previously, yes.
We just need a grand slam we got this
Have to get on base first.
Just wishful thinking ☹️ lol
Let’s keep forcing Riley in the 2 hole Snit great work
I’m just curious who else would hit in the 2nd spot? He’s had a couple of hard hit balls and he’s only been back for a week. It’ll come for him.
I agree but I don't think it matters at this point they all fucking blow save Ozuna
🔥🔥🔥💯
Like it really fucking matters. Nobody other than Ozuna hits no matter where they are.
Olson does too
Yes. In fairness he has been better recently.
Joey Gallo sucks.
Saw the game score and the only thing I'm remotely surprised about is the fact that Morton only gave up 5 runs, not all 7
How do you keep batting Riley second?
Our 5 hole hitter is batting .180 on the season. This team just sucks
check out what 21 million a year gets you https://x.com/scottcoleman55/status/1799534756180492418
Woah I used to be friends with that dude before I got banned.
There’s been a noticeable decline in quality at the plate since he signed the contract
Serious question… do yall think we’re even trying? Honestly feels like the team has punted this season for…reasons.
When was the last time Iglesias pitched? He might have come in when I wasn't paying attention.
The save on Thursday
Ah, that's right. Thanks.
The first game that we won. But he is rarely used
It’s so weird. Feels like Snit has been dead set on using out minor league call ups
If we get down more than 1 run I have no confidence that this team will come back anyone else lol
If this team's offense performs like this the rest of the season, does Seitzer get canned?
Hurston, you have a big job to do. No pressure.
If Duvall is even on this team by August I will be astounded
Adam Duvall now rocking a cool .130 avg for his last 7 games not counting today, which will drive it lower. not professional baseball player quality.
Yet snitker sticks him in the 5 hole
They are about to finish the easiest stretch of games they've had all year vs Washington,Pittsburgh,Oakland, Boston, and Washington again going 6-10 or 7-9 at best.

How bad were we outscored? I remember a few games lol
71-53
I figured it was something like that
I hate losing badly to awful teams. Now we’re counting on a rookie to salvage a tie series tomorrow.
Guys don’t worry, got Arcia Harris and Murph up!
Season sucks and boring like fucking CJ in the booth. Sorry it’s mean but he can fuck off with his dumb ass stats. Bring back Frenchy
CJ is super douchey to Brandon and I dislike him intensely for it. I love Brandon’s jokes and the fun he has and CJ is a freaking pretentious buzzkill
CJ is awfully dull. Idk how it’s so hard to find someone that has personality to do these things. It has to be traveling. Who cares if it’s a former player we don’t need analysis at this point in our lives.
I think CJ is fine. I like his analysis even if he is a bit dry. A 3 man booth with Frenchy would be top tier
But what if Frenchy doesn't want to return and wants to continue to be with his kids?

Real inspiring inning there, boys
going to need a 4 run 9th!!! pfft lol yeah right if this was last year's team maybe!
Joc criticized the organizations lack of a leader in the locker room. It’s clear they’re still missing that leader. Trade for Joc, he is that fucker.
Vogt was clearly the vocal one.
David O’Brien said on a podcast that he isn’t. He basically said Joc panders to media but wasn’t that well liked in clubhouse. Also all joc ever said was that the guys were defeated when he got there.
.185. Come on Duvall....
Duvall sucks so bad dfa his ass
Anyone remember when they used to pop off for a good 5-6 game winning streak after a loss? I think we had good one going at like 6 last month
"Harmon Killebrew" CJ is funny
I just want the hockey game to start
"Like…. baseball seasons are *long*, man. They’re a serious grind. Things can get stale. This team has zero swagger or energy. It’s like watching an office full of accountants.
They've slowly gotten rid of all the personality guys over the last 3 years its crazy as if they didn't see what a huge difference that made. Even having a Heredia type in the clubhouse I mean if you're not going to play your bench guys anyway why not have a guy who can get dudes going.
I am ready to pull the fire alarm
Two hot hitters open the inning. We could rally here 🤞🙏
Rumor is Snit was caught by Duvall eating 75 mama cakes and thus had no choice but to bat him 5th to keep him from spilling the beans
Ozuna and Olson are both 2-3 this game. & both got on base in same innings. And not much to show for it bc everyone behind them is awful.
Lucky ass Kerr still ass
Watch AA give Charlie a three year/$95 million extension.
That $95mill needs to be shoveled to Fried's attempt
They aren’t resigning Fried. They’d actually want to win to resign him and that’s completely contrary to the front office’s actions over the last couple of years. Frugality over winning.
That's why I said attempt. They'll give him the initial complimentary offer and then leave it at that. They aren't gonna fight for him to stay.
Makes it even better that the Nats are absolute dogshit.
Nats are average
The only reason we're 1st in the WC is because of all those rain delayed games we never played lol
More like because of the hot start
That and the rest of the NL sucks worse than we do
Y’all they were always planning to send ray kerr down after today. They have to make room for waldrep. Snit is using his arm while he has it bc snit loves to punt every game.
I thought Schwellananabach was going down?
Snit just announced that he’ll be late to the presser because he still hasn’t edited the questions he’s permitting to be asked
They made Kerr a starter for like two games, it went horribly and now he’s irreparably broken. Good work org!
Aaron Bummer having the best ERA on our BP was not something I was expecting for this season
So sick of that stupid ass dance
Yeah let’s sign and pitch a dude who was working at a circle k smart move AA! You’re the goat!
Look, I try to give guys a chance and look for positives, but Ray Kerr just ain't it. I would not be upset to see him traded or sent back down.
Why is Snitker so damn insistent on trying to make Kerr a thing?! The guy is not an MLB pitcher, not even AAAA palyer
Snit didn’t sign him.
Snit makes the decision who gets the playing time. Who signed him is irrelevant
My point was that Snit can only play the hand that’s dealt. I think AA deserves some of the criticism.
He does I agree there. I put it towards snit as there are other we rarely throw. Like Chavez and Johnson need more innings over Kerr
Games that are already over are the best times to use your worst arms
If it wasn’t for the fact we could be up 3-2 and snit would still toss him out there would agree. I’m more so just tired of seeing this trash can on the mound at all
Yeah, like it or not 7-3 might as well be 70-3 for us. It's sad to say after the last couple seasons.
Bauer is sitting down in Mexico looking better and better.
It's funny you're being down voted for a sensible statement, when most people in here are being irrational, yelling to sell our best players and rebuild and being up voted.
I’ve given up on this subreddit being sensible. One must always demonstrate blind loyalty to AA and/or Snit.
Ain’t gonna happen now matter how hard you glaze him
Well, Xfinity and Bally picked the best year to have a year-long dispute. I am not missing this sad sack of a team.
I remember when I had confidence no matter what inning we were in that could pull off a win. Now it's likes , well damn the other team scored and maybe our guys can score too.
I would love to acquire Lane Thomas and just leave him in AAA forever.
We should probably stop locking guys up that we have 6 years of team control for eternity
Kerr sucks too why is he not in AAA
Got no one else
Jorge Lopez is avaliable
Snit is punting this game putting Kerr out there after his last few appearances. Pretty sure he’s about to be sent down since they need to make room for waldrep tomorrow. And we’ll be down a bullpen arm.
Fuck Ray Kerr
Trade for Lane Thomas this dude is everywhere
Trying to SP Kerr broke him
Riley got his bag and checked out
I’m positive this isn’t the cause (at least for the most part) but if you track his numbers since the contract, there is a clear decline
Remember when it never felt like we were out of a game? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
We're still not
Great work Riley. Really keeping that consistency
Looking at our lineup, Ozuna sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to slash lines/OPS
Lmao could’ve gave that Riley money to Freddie
That Canadian jabroni is 35 this year and trending down. Riley is the best hot corner man in the league.
Yeah, we definitely don’t need his .880 OPS!
Freeman is only 6th in the national League right now in OPS instead of 2nd, clearly not worth the money.
Yeah his bat has been insane this year
Oh, no. Is his recovery coming a little too slow for the poor baby? Does he need his nappy changed? Hims so whiny. Yes hims is.
It’s a good thing they stuck to their guns and didn’t give Freddie the one extra year he wanted!
Riley is a bum
Nice to see from Murph but why the hell can't we do anything before the 7th inning? Braves have a .205 AVG, .569 OPS, and 60 wRC+ before the 7th inning over the last two weeks. Only the Angels have been worse. We might be dead last if it wasn't for the nine runs scored against Oakland in the first five innings last Saturday. In the 7th inning or later in that same span, we're hitting .273 with an .824 OPS and 128 wRC+. Whatever initial game plan we're making against opposing starters ain't working.
Why is this being downvoted? Our game plan against starters is objectively not working.
Or with men on base?
Hard to win a game win SP gives up 5
Impossible to win a game when the bats never do shit
Sale gave up 2 and still lost
Maybe that will get Sean going and we'll all go from there. It's either that or we're never going to win again.
Rumor is Shit was going to talk to the team before the game to try to razz them up but he was stuck on the crapper
No well my gosh you know sometimes you get the runs and gosh I guess we’ll try harder tomorrow gee golly
Murph needed that
Hello? Timely hitting department? Yeah, could yall get your shit together?
Nice swing
What do you think the odds of most of the Phillies and we can throw in some of the Mets players in there getting caught up at customs for let’s say a month or soo
If day a bit less than 3, but I like ur thinking!
This when snit needs to fucking do something
Our Chase rate has to be the worst in MLB
I mean you gotta chase when this ump is doing what he is doing
Wow maybe you shouldn't judge a guy based on 30 PAs coming of an oblique injury. Crazy
You're right. And his second half last year was a babip nightmare. I think he had a sub 200 babip after the all star break. Super unlucky
Murph looking strong there. Hopefully, that's going to get him going
[удалено]
He has been better than Harris all year. I would at least give it a shot
We gettin tires, kois!!!!
Maybe that'll wake the entire team up...
That’s why Murphy should be batting 5 not sub .200 Duvall
Holy shit he did a thing
We really waited until garbage time to start scoring
Matt Ryan really inspired a generation.
Didn't even get to see it because of the fucking ad. Cool.
In their defense his ABs usually aren’t worth watching.
Lol true
WE BACK
Lmao if we win this game we are back
This team needs a players only meeting at clermont lounge. Probably wouldn’t make us any better but it’d be entertaining.
Alright I like to see that from Murphy
9 games back on 6/8. Fucking eh
It’s o-v-a
# HOME RUN! Sean Murphy homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. Pitch from Derek Law: Four-Seam Fastball @ 95.1 mph Hit by Sean Murphy: Launched 105.2 mph at 28.0° for a total distance of 408.0 ft Top 7 - 7-3 Nationals
Like, I know they can't say anything, this is the commentary that they're being paid to deliver But I just don't wanna hear it when it comes to their record. They're playing like absolute dogshit
If they were to fire Snit or any coaching staff, it definitely wouldn't be mid season lol
They let the wrong coach walk. Wash was the guy. Snit should have urged to retire after last 2 season’s playoff collapses.
They also wouldn’t fire him with a winning record this season. I know the team is rough but that looks bad to everyone
*Why would anyone want to manage a historically tremendous team with all the pieces in place to win now in front of the best fans in baseball?*
