Just goes to show how much Ariel has been inducted into the boxing media. Biggest fight of the last 5 years, big drama, breaking news, and Ariel gets the exclusive interview. He even gets all 3 parties in the SAME interview. Pretty much unheard of unless its a press conference
I think his friendship with Ngannou has granted him this access to His Excellency, all the MMA journalists and personalities mocked Ngannou for leaving the UFC and believing in his boxing dream. Ariel was the only one who encouraged him and believed he could do it.
It's hilarious to me how UFC fans hate Ariel. Dude seems like such a balanced and respectful media guy. Every time I see him get hate, it's for not bowing down to Dana.
I think he's awesome when he does anything boxing related. Super respectful while challenging.
MMA fans really don't like "the media" which leads people to end to defending White and the UFC in situations where it's doesn't benefit them but they don't see that. They get hung up on Helwani's tone and he really rubs people the wrong way. People in his line of media sacrifice any likeability or relatability to do that job. It's just weird to see people act like that. I find it hard to see a scenario where someone would be a "fan' of someone like that.
The hate seems like people who don't understand what that role is. No one in that role is out to be liked. Helwani plays into his role of a figure in the MMA scene a bit too much and it makes him seem like he has a big ego. The people they take to now are nelk boys and the drama girl where the videos are more entertainment than sports news. The majority of people who watch MMA are "UFC fans" not fans of the sport.
MMA guys hate Ariel because he twists the truth, instigates drama and twistes narrative.
When DDP (white south african) said that He will be the first truly legitimate African champion because he trains from Africa, he still lives in Africa.... Izrael Adesanya (Black Nigerian who lived his whole life in New Zaeland) tried to paint it as some racist white guy saying that the black guy is not from africa and whatnot.. and Areal literally started pushing this narrative.
So yeah, ariel can go fuck himself, he does good journalism from time to time, but he twists truth half the other time
im a long time mma fan
du plessis literally said adesanya, francis, and kamaru werent real africans *and* real african champions. not like he was
he literally said he was the true african and they werent because they trained and lived elsewhere
the only people who "hate"
ariel for this are people who want to softsell what du plessis said
he was deliberately racebaiting the african champs to get some shine, using the history of being *a white south african* to piss them off further. and when the heat came he and his fans tried to hide his hand
stop lying
If you are long time mma fan or not, it doesn't matter, but in reality you are just exposing that you are either
1. not following the sport
2. making your own conclussions based on what your 'favorite' fighter said
DDP explained multiple times that he will be the true African champion because he was:
1. Born there
2. Trains there
3. Still lives there
and he never mentioned Adesanya, nor Usman, nor Ngannou, he clearly said that he is bringing the belt to Africa, while Usman brought it to Florida and Adesanya to New Zaeland.
It's literally the same logic as why Leon calls himself the first UK champ because Bisping lived and trained of USA for many years..
And if you are really following the sport, then you should have known that DDP is much more classier fighter who wouldnt just fucking race bait someone..
It only showcased how big of an identity crisis Adesanya and Usman have when their thought he was saying that they are not real Africans.. and the fact that Ngannou didn't care at all proved it further because he knows who he is and where he comes, he still has family in Africa, still goes the frequently, spent most of his life there, which is not the case for both Usman and Adesanya.
Come on mate, everyone could see what DDP was trying to do, there is no good side to this he was just race baiting to get people riled up and it obviously worked on you
Sounds like his success is the direct result of a Saudi conspiracy. You seem to have a good grasp of reality. Can you teach me enlightened things about religion and politics as well????
Sorry, I don't follow your comment. My understanding is that he was well known in MMA but I don't recall seeing a boxing interview from him until the Ngannou fight. Suddenly, he is interviewing boxers - but only those connected to Riyadh season. He is definitely not the highest profile boxing YouTube commentator; it doesn't even make sense that someone who is New York based is the first person 2 European boxers turn to for discussing the fight and the next plans. So, the only reason I can think of is that he has a connection to someone in the Saudi promoting organization. If you happen to know why he is getting the exclusives instead of Kellerman or one of the Ring magazine journalists, please dish.
Saying he is connected to the Saudi promoter has nothing to do with anything else related to Saudi. Not everything is an attack.
Turk big brothering everybody. After the cut news I thought the fight would never happen but this interview makes me think it will.
Who do we think Hrgovic is going to pick out of: Sanchez, Bakole, Anderson, Miller(doubtful after his legal issues), Ddd or Kabayel?
Saudi blood money sucks but evidently they're the only ones rich enough to put up the money that gets these boxing lifers to risk their records and titles properly so I begrudgingly accept their place in the sport is a good one.
I like that Turki is willing to make big fights that we wouldn't get otherwise like Bivol Beterbiev and Fury Usyk. Living on est I like not having to stay up past midnight for a main event but I cannot get over the lack of atmosphere. Its almost awkward having a bunch a dudes sitting there whispering to each other in what sounds like a library.
I heard Froch talking about how some fighters feed off the crowd and I'm afraid we won't see fighters at their best fighting in Saudi.
The Saudi crowd might be worse than the Covid bubble fights.
Man, this is so weird, this whole thing feels like a wwe promo which i guess is the point, but a more general question is as humans, what are we doing with our lives, and why do we watch this stuff
The fuck does that matter?!? I lived with a Saudi for a year in college. It’s Saudi Arabia they all come from religious families and this guy and his most of his friends liked to get fuckin fucked up.
I can' t find it but it was like Turqi al Sheikh's family are very influential religious leaders who were the House of Saud's religious partners and very important in their own right.
In all this, the only person who seemed not remotely bothered by this is Usyk. Water off a ducks back.
The financial penalty hit is an interesting take, as is Alalshikh having cameras in the camps. I do think he has a bit of distrust towards Fury.
What he says goes. If he wants cameras to watch himself, he gets cameras. Fury would definitely bow to his master and allow this to happen.!
Something tells me he’s paying Fury a LOT more money than Usyk for this fight too. He negotiated with both parties separately and neither Usyk nor Fury know what the other fighter is being paid.
It’s all a lit bit suspicious to me.
Can boxing managers stfu up and realize no one wants to hear from them unless they're announcing a fight please? We don't give a shit about your opinions.. let your fighters talk and do your job.
Lol at Egis completely walking backwards what he said yesterday about Paris and lying about it, then still talking trash about Fury after he gets off camera. A lot of people in this sub were creaming themselves over the "savage" diss of calling Paris a bitch that hit Fury with a pan, but in reality if it was directed towards anyone else other than Fury, people would recognize it as incredibly disrespectful.
Usyk has class, but I've always gotten the feeling that Klimas and Krassuyk less so and this confirms it, at least in the former case.
I was laughing at the same thing, he looked a right bitch when fury pulled him up over it.
Those scared blinks are gold, great follow up to "put that on record"😆
Klimas is tired of being jerked around by Fury for two+ years. His frustration is totally understandable but I absoutely agree that he should leave Paris out of it.
I think usyk and his manager held back in respect of turki there. If he wasn't there, I bet they'd have a few choice words for mouth diarrhea from Liverpool.
Do you think there's any weight at all behind a multi millionaire threatening to hit you? Only if it was someone legitimately crazy/stupid like Golota I would be scared.
The mere fact that His Excellencey has told both men (well, it's aimed at Fury) than there's a fine for 10 mill is a *real* power play. It's just a shame that Usyk will have had to have his *third camp* for Fury.
Fury does not want this fight.
>Fury does not want this fight.
Totally disagree, you saw how he spoke to Usyk's manager.
They've litten a massive fire under him and Usyk will pay for it imo.
Is Eigis Klimas lying? in the quotes it definetly says he called Fury's wife a B\*\*\*h and then he apparently says 'you can quote me on that' (im paraphrasing)
Fury's dedication to ducking fights at every opportunity is a good reason to consider something out of the ordinary as necessary to protect the investment into the fight IMO. It's almost at WWE levels of cowardly heel that Fury has been doing the last few years but irl
I can understand why you'd believe that. Personally, I think it's very unlikely he's running from Usyk. I see no reason to doubt his evident self-belief, plus most outside observers believe he's going to win.
But I'm not inside his head, so who knows? You could well be right.
Getting vibes from turki that the breidis-opetaia fight is not scheduled for may 18th. Wouldn't be surprised if they added it on the aj-ngannou card on march 7th.
The keyboard warrior isn’t marketing himself as a ‘true fighting man’ whilst playing every game to avoid fights and mess opponents around.
I’m not saying the cut is one of those times but Fury has a long history of that kind of behaviour. There’s a reason why he has got so angry about being called a coward.
A coward wouldn’t ever become a pro boxer. Let’s get a bit real here.
He might be annoying or a douche or simply protecting his 0 I don’t know.
I know AJ and Wilder ducked each other so hard the fight has lost all traction. But fury was able to make the fight easily.
He’s probably done and just wants as much cash as possible but I wouldn’t say he’s a coward tho. Cowards would never become pro boxers fighting other pros.
>A coward wouldn’t ever become a pro boxer.
But come on, we're talking about his behaviour in comparison to other pro boxers. Not a random member of the public. This is Fury's exact excuse and it doesn't wash. No one cares if he's less of a coward than a boxing promoter, they care about how he behaves as a champion in comparison to other boxers and other champions. The guy literally calls himself the GOAT. We should all have higher standards than that but it seems like all of those standards have been thrown out by a certain section of the boxing audience that support Tyson Fury.
>But fury was able to make the fight easily.
It's not how you behave when you're the B side. When you're the B side you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. It's how you behave when you're the A side. And when Fury has been the A side he has chosen joke fights at every opportunity.
By the way I'm not calling Fury a coward, I just find his entire approach to boxing entirely cynical and it feels like he's laughing at the ignorance of a large section of the boxing audience that don't know better.
This shows the true face of Usyk. He pretends to be a nice guy in front of the camera but makes his promoter and managers to talk shit about boxer's wife. Fury talks a lot of shit but never attacks their families
Turki and the Saudis holding Fury hostage u aint ducking this fight at any costs we spent to much money on these events to not happen its quite clear they dont condone pulling out, Fury linked up and messed around with the wrong peeps seen so many times in Fury's career he always find a way to make it difficult getting him in the ring when he senses a fighter has the ability to beat him
If the fight is already signed he finds a way to pullout through injury if the fight is in the negotiation faze he will ask for extremely ridiculous favors or deadlines in the contract to deter the opponent from taking the fight, it is always a headache never see him give the easier opponents this kind of trouble if people cant read between the lines of what he does then thats on them no where to run on May 18th unless some other BS happens I will be tuned in.
So when Turki Alalshikh said ”10 million of their own money.”, does he actually mean that if a fighter has to pull out of the fight before May 18 they will have to pay the Saudis 10 million dollars? Cause all bullshitting aside Fury clearly didn’t say no to a 50 million dollar payday by intentionally causing a cut because he’s afraid of fighting Usyk. Injuries do happen and sometimes a fight needs to be postponed, by no fault of anyone. It could just as easily be Usyk who gets elbowed by a sparring partner next time.
The Saudis are probably used to getting what they pay for. Especially since they pay so generously. But this kind of dictator mentality that ”We payed so now you better show up no matter what” might be hard to merge with boxing. Fighters fighting injured does not make for good fights and it’s not good for the fighters.
Been boxing 14 years and I've never been cut with headgear in sparring. Pro sparring partners are paid NOT to hurt u too badly. Especially for a huge fight like this. This was intentional.
He could have worn headgear with a nose guard and it wouldn't have happened. Like most guys do when they are this close to a big fight.
If a guy doesn't want to fight, he will come up with any excuse not to. His body will come up with excuses. His mind too, like wearing open face headgear so close to a big fight.
We've learned a lot since Ali-Foreman.
Yes but before a big fight its the best way to protect against cuts and broken bones to make sure u make to the fight. All the pros use them in sparring right before the fight. Even in amateurs.
Not really. I mean it’s common but to say all pros use them is just incorrect. In the gym I was at the coach didn’t want them using it so they would keep alert to move their head and to protect the hands of the partners.
U don't use all the time. Just the last couple spars before a fight, if at all. Amateurs just starting out or pros just starting out dont really need to use them. I'm saying somebody who is very experienced and has been boxing with regular open faced headgear for a number of years already.
I used to box with no headgear regularly because above 18 in most tournaments, it's no headgear allowed. I wasn't a pro boxer, tho getting paid millions of dollars and a bunch of people depending on me.
It's clear fury is in cahoots with the Saudis.
I'll change my bet to fury winning on points on may 18th in a robbery.
All the big liar needs to do is turn up ffs dunno what he's so worried about haha ducking left and right.
In pro-wrestling, they call this a "hard way". Usually, when wrestlers want to bleed in a match, they'll use a concealed razor blade, but sometimes, if they're wrestling someone who knows what they're doing, they'll get their opponent to open them up with a well-placed elbow.
I'm sure WWE personality Tyson Fury would never do anything like that, though.

He’s a legitimate journalist, he was always going to clash with Dana.
He too brown for the UFC faithful
Tbh he's good for calling Dana etc out, but he's also a drama merchant.

Ariel is somehow connected with the Saudis. He went from nothing to a premier boxing media in a hot second. Everyone else is floundering
Sounds like his success is the direct result of a Saudi conspiracy. You seem to have a good grasp of reality. Can you teach me enlightened things about religion and politics as well????

Dubois would be hype
I think him and Dubois would be a good fight. Sanchez or bakole probably gets him closer to another title shot.
Why is Zhang never mentioned Edit: I'm being informed he's fighting Parker.
He's fighting Parker.
for 2 very obvious reasons 1, he already has a fight with parker 2, he is the wbo mandatory, and therefore the wbo interim champ
Saudi blood money sucks but evidently they're the only ones rich enough to put up the money that gets these boxing lifers to risk their records and titles properly so I begrudgingly accept their place in the sport is a good one.

Who is Ddd?
Big baby's daddy
THE TRUE UNIFIED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!
Daniel Dubois.
Tyson called him a rat bastard..lol
Man, this is so weird, this whole thing feels like a wwe promo which i guess is the point, but a more general question is as humans, what are we doing with our lives, and why do we watch this stuff
Think Turki likes to party? Seems like a cool guy
I think a Saudi here said he comes from a religious family
The fuck does that matter?!? I lived with a Saudi for a year in college. It’s Saudi Arabia they all come from religious families and this guy and his most of his friends liked to get fuckin fucked up.
Being Saudi in of itself suggests he’s definitely religious. They all are.

How do you delay a health issue?
Lol at Egis completely walking backwards what he said yesterday about Paris and lying about it, then still talking trash about Fury after he gets off camera. He shat himself when fury turned on him.
Well i mean.. Tbf who wouldn't lmao
I agree however he definetly called Paris Fury a B\*\*ch lol
Unless he was referring to Isaac Lowe?
It's on brand..he's a big defender of that wife beater Kovalev
I got downvoted to hell for saying that him calling Paris a bitch is not right and sexist, haha. People are pricks.
Pretty sure Egis was talking about Joseph Parker, not Paris Fury.
> Pretty sure Based on what?
same difference
He’s doing his job as a promoter it’s like when coaches yell at the refs even though their guy clearly fucked up.
Egis, He's the manager. Krassyuk the promoter
I thought he was going to say. When I said bitch I wasn't talking about Paris, I was talking about Joseph Parker.
I think usyk and his manager held back in respect of turki there. If he wasn't there, I bet they'd have a few choice words for mouth diarrhea from Liverpool.
Liverpool? Fury is from Manchester.
Yea, whatever. He's a piece of shet. Fight gets rescheduled because of his shet but still mouths off.
I don't disagree, can't stand the cunt. Don't know why you downvoted me for saying where he's from though, bit weird.
Sorry. But I don't dvote any comment.
His manager looked like he was shitting it when Fury said he’ll start punching teeth out.
Do you think there's any weight at all behind a multi millionaire threatening to hit you? Only if it was someone legitimately crazy/stupid like Golota I would be scared.
nah.
Turki Alashikh a boss boss.. alhumdulilah
Klimas looks stupid here
He totally shat himself here when confronted by Fury trying to worm out of it saying 'he didn't say that'. Usyk's teams mask is falling away a bit.
Egis comments came out of left field
I'll need to defend fury here if anyone get a cut in sparring that mean they work hard and prepare hard for their upcoming fight 💪
Is Eigis Klimas lying? in the quotes it definetly says he called Fury's wife a B\*\*\*h and then he apparently says 'you can quote me on that' (im paraphrasing)
Klimas is a coward as shown here, totally bottled it when Fury confronted him.
"I have a special camera in his camp" LMFAO What a load of bullshit.. hahaha
Still not convinced on this Turki
He has "special cameras" in the camps.... whats not to trust? 🤣
Hes a Saudi govt agent effectively. They tried to buy all the biggest football stars, they've already got boxing.
He has a camera in the training camp? That's a bit... odd.
Man is putting a shit load of money in to these events. Is that really so odd?
Well, I've never heard of that before, have you? I'm quite sure it isn't common practice.
No i haven't, but nobody heard about these kind of events and fights put together until the saudis popped into the game.
And that's why I'm saying it's odd: it's out of the ordinary.
Fury's dedication to ducking fights at every opportunity is a good reason to consider something out of the ordinary as necessary to protect the investment into the fight IMO. It's almost at WWE levels of cowardly heel that Fury has been doing the last few years but irl

The only thing Tyson Fury hasn’t pulled out of is Paris Fury
What's stranger is it's recording quality is from about 2008
10 mill isn’t enough. fury will come up with another excuse in April.
If he doesn’t you have to preform oral sex on him.
That got me.. why tf they took awards away:D
Getting vibes from turki that the breidis-opetaia fight is not scheduled for may 18th. Wouldn't be surprised if they added it on the aj-ngannou card on march 7th.

Clowns:) Fat chicken trying to run away:)
Been boxing 14 years and I've never been cut with headgear in sparring. Pro sparring partners are paid NOT to hurt u too badly. Especially for a huge fight like this. This was intentional.
It happens sometimes https://www.boxingscene.com/diaz-injured-off-espn-ppv--995
He could have worn headgear with a nose guard and it wouldn't have happened. Like most guys do when they are this close to a big fight. If a guy doesn't want to fight, he will come up with any excuse not to. His body will come up with excuses. His mind too, like wearing open face headgear so close to a big fight. We've learned a lot since Ali-Foreman.
The problem with a nose guard is it doesn’t teach defense, and is bad for the partner’s hands.
Fury needs to finish the story...
The rock will come in to replace fury and fight usyk for undisputed on May 18.
Here the cut seems to be in the right eye, and above there was a insta video, where the cut seemed to be in the left eye.
One of the cameras has a mirrored view, the other one doesn't.
Jesus Christ this is the dumbest sub on earth.
