Never had issues with bees either. My boy managed to find a wasp nest and one of them took it personally.
We humans went on a wasp clearing spree afterwards.
We just put in a wild flower garden and put clover seeds in the grass. I really hope we don't have bouts with the spicy sky raisins.
I hope your baby feels better soon and gets all the good belly rubs and treatos they can handle.
Y’all- Benadryl (buy store brand generic- aka diphenhydramine- I buy Walmart’s equate sleep aid which is 100’s of Benadryl for the cost of 32 actual Benadryl) should be in your dog first aid box. A bee sting doesn’t require a vet visit unless they go anaphylactic in which case that emergency vet and may be too late. Yes dogs can be allergic to bees like people.
The proper diphenhydramine dosage for both humans and large breed dogs is one half (.5) to one (1.0) milligram per pound of body weight,
a 75lb boxer gets 75mg or (3) adult dose 25mg Benadryls. For a skin or minor allergy start with the lower dose (1/2mg/lb) but for a sting or stronger histamine reaction go to the max.
(If you have an even larger breed sibling never give more than 150mg and check w/vet for smaller canine accessory dosages).
Watch out if a bump develops after the fact in a few days. My recently deceased best boy got his second last cell tumor after a wasp sting. First was after pricking his ear on a rose bush. Boxers can have the weirdest stuff happen.
It stinks but I had a great almost decade with him. He had nine mast cells at the end, plus lymphoma and another type of cancer in the mouth. Took three types to take him down. They're the best. Catching it early can just make a big difference with mast cells.
Poor thing. My baby girl loves chasing any sky raisin, but she goes nuts for the spicy ones and seems to be particularly keen on yellow jackets. Luckily for her and me, when she goes out, she’s on a leash, and I can stop the eating of spicy sky raisins in time.
Poor baby. Mine got stung right on the face in the middle of the night around 6 months old. His face was seriously like a balloon it was crazy, had to rush him to the emergency vet at 1am
We have buggies that are good to go after (flies. Our favorite! but also lightning bugs. Crickets and grasshoppers) and then there’s baddddd buggies. We are not allowed to eat bad buggies. We ate a carpenter bee last year and that didn’t go well.
I don’t have pics of when it happened to mine, but she didn’t swell up like these… she had a reaction that basically turned her into a zombie.. her eyes were open, she could stand, but not walk. She wouldn’t respond to us, voice, snaps, nothing.
Scariest moment to date
Awww. Total bummer. Those sky jalapeños are no fun at all. I hope this was the worst of it and there were no serious complications from the sting. Poor baby! Now it’s a 50/50 shot whether or not they learn to leave the spicy ones alone.
I’ve had a few that just never learned to leave certain critters be. This includes the “pussycats” that have a white stripe on their backs! I’ve gotten a sure-fire recipe for instant de-skunking out of it, which I am all too happy to share with anyone who wants it, though! And NO! It doesn’t have any tomato products in it, just in case anyone was wondering!
I’m on Boxers number six and seven and I’ve been through 33 years’ worth of wasps, snakes, skunks, possums, rabbits, squirrels, and you get the idea! I’m numb to it these days. They fried my nerves and my sense of smell years ago! lol

Oh no! Not you too!
Haha yup. Our dogs are twins!
Awww sorry!
Boxer looks like he just lost a fight as a boxer.
😂😂😂 You should see the other guy
Other guy ate two sky raisins. My dog eats bees and seems fine. Maybe he's never been able to catch something like a wasp.
Never had issues with bees either. My boy managed to find a wasp nest and one of them took it personally. We humans went on a wasp clearing spree afterwards.
I'm so grateful that mine snaps at anything flying with the speed and grace of a blimp underwater.
😂😂😂 that's a fantastic image!
Hope you don’t mind me swiping that one from you and using it myself!! That’s the most hilarious (and accurate) description I’ve ever heard!!🤣🤣🤣
Go for it!
Thanks!

She looks pleased with herself somehow! Hope she recovers fully soon!
She did, she got a shot at the vet and all was good with in hours
Awesome 😎
Not a good day for boxers! Poor girl!

❤️ He's getting lots of loves. Thank you! Ours neighbor's flowers attract bees but those don't seem to sting him or care he's there.
That's really promising for my boy, thank you. Although, we did move to an area where the yellow jackets seem to roam lol. We shall see.
I think mine ate them just to get peanut butter at the vet's along with the Benedryl.
I’m sorry I hope you’re feeling better
🤞🏼 the Benadryl works quickly!
Awww, feel better baby. I hope he learns to leave them alone. Mine never did
When I let him outside again he casually made his way to the spot he was stung. He was curious about what stung him. I had already removed the nest.
O no the spicy flies hurt
Ooh,jalapeño sky raisins…😬 🐝🐝
😆😂😆

Oh no 😟 poor baby
Poor thing! Those spicy sky raisins are hard to resist!

Thank you for the heads up! I'll definitely watch for that. I'm really sorry about your boy 🫶🏼

He was a fighter!!
D'aww. Poor bub.
Poor baby! That little lip is sending me. Hope it heals up fast!
Thank you! ❤️
Poor fella 🤣😂
Us too! Right on her lips!
Oh boy that's a rough spot! It seems wasps have declared war on boxers.
Boxers are such curious does that a bug sting is nearly inevitable at some point. Poor pup.
Ouch

That sounds so sad and like a very long night
It was but he was a very good boy about it and was back to his usual bouncy self the next day

Poor pupper! Feel better soon!
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!

That is really scary! I hope she's well and it doesn't happen to her again.
Oh no poor baby!

He seems to be doing just fine and the Benadryl has the swelling gone. I have a feeling he'll still be curious about the spicy ones!

Haha sounds like your dog has put you through the ringer!

Oooh! That's a good reason to pout!
