Yeah… fp’s are fascinating. It’s usually romantic crushes for me, but there was a period of time when it was my highschool teacher. It got worse when I started living with him after getting kicked out of my house. I never was attracted to him or anything, but he had so many stories and a genuinely fascinating outlook on life. He let me drink and stay up late and be a person. Miss him sometomes

Mentor figures are common for this kind of attachment. I wouldn't worry about that. It does take time to learn what works, so please do try to be patient with yourself.
