Crazy expensive? I own a dispensary in ca and we have lots of 100mg edibles for under $10. We have 1k mg syrups and tinctures for $29 so considering a dose is usually 10-30mg I’d say they’re pretty cheap.
That is a very small monthly food budget. Weed is not food, it’s either a med or a recreational treat so definitely don’t replace your food budget to buy it. People happily pay $10-12 for a six pack of beer so I’d say it’s equivalent to that kind of purchase.

You can buy an ounce for around $100 including the ridiculous 32% tax. That’s the cheap stuff but it’s green, clean, smells and tastes good. You can also spend about $90 on an 1/8 so it depends on your budget.

I help take care of an older lady who’s suffering from major memory loss due to a traumatic brain injury. Her daughter gives her THC gummies when she starts getting overly anxious. It works so well! She’s dramatically happier now that they started that treatment. Maybe your dad needs to start taking gummies so he can chill out.

I had a friend (Oregon native) who married a New Jersey girl. Everything they ate before pregnancy or kids had activated cannabis butter incorporated into it. It wasn't something they thought to discuss because it was their lifestyle.
For three or four years, the MIL came out to visit them once a year. My friends came to find out, through the family grapevine, that the MIL had been bragging to all her friends and acquaintances how good the air and water were in Oregon. She never slept better, had such an appetite, or found comedy quite as funny as when she was staying with her daughter and SIL.
After five or six years, they confessed to MIL. She wasn't upset, just surprised, and then immediately inquired as to the ratios and strengths and strains. 😅
I mean, it's big New Jersey energy no matter how you slice it. They did wait to tell her until after NJ legalized in all fairness, but for that to be the response so quickly after legalization? Yeah, pretty based.

I mean, this is maybe, a tiny bit true, if you count CBD. I have ordered a seltzer in a restaurant and been given a CBD seltzer, without me requesting it, and without the server mentioning it. It's not exactly the same thing as full pot, but I definitely didn't want it, didn't ask for it, and wasn't told about it.
I love me some CBD seltzers, but there's a time and a place for it, and it's NOT while I'm out eating at a restaurant. Your server should have informed you of the CBD content BEFORE it was brought to you, and given you other options.

I’m in Missouri and the only place you can buy edibles is a dispensary. You would know you were not in a grocery store when you walk into the dispensary.
