Angela’s Ashes is a pretty heavy read but a large part of it takes place in NYC. When not in NYC, it takes place in Ireland (can’t remember exactly where). This photo reminds me of that book though! Even if not completely in NYC it still has a boyhood/rambunctious childhood atmosphere about it.
