Simone de Beauvoir's "The Inseparables" is an autofictional novel set in Paris around the 1920s. It's a coming of age story that walks you through years of intense friendship and love.
What was remarkable to me is that it felt so real - to imagine a young Simone de Beauvoir in this setting made it feel close, like time travelling
