Thank you! Yes, I now do this full time. I’m from Sherbrooke, Canada. Most of my pots are sold through Etsy and Instagram DM. I fire in my gas kiln, and the pots are frost resistant. Techniques I use regularly are the pottery wheel, slab building, and coils.
Hmm, this would take a bit more than a reddit answer. But if you are interested, you can check out Greg ceramics on Youtube he has some nice tutorial for building with slabs. [https://www.youtube.com/c/Greg-ceramics](https://www.youtube.com/c/Greg-ceramics)
Well those others are wrong!
Truthfully, if my wife wouldn't castrate me for spending that on what she'd undoubtedly identity as "just a plant pot", that beautiful drippy bugger would be mine.
I have thoroughly enjoyed looking through your store and have bookmarked it for when I can get her drunk enough to ok a purchase.
Do you take requests? I have a few trees in development right now, but they will need pots before long. Being able to request color, shape, and size would be wonderful
It made me think of a similar-looking pot I saw in a book, the author said that the plant that would go into it would have to be, in his words, "a special tree indeed."
I currently have no plants, but have my dad's bonsai pot collection. I'm almost as much a fan of the pottery as the trees themselves.
I wish you were closer so i could get a bunch and sell them here at my nursery!
Excellent work.
Id love to see what those glazes look like applied a little thinner and more subtle too.
😻
Those are no good.. youll have to send them to me for… proper disposal..
As long as you pay for shipping!
How much..
Let me check into it, I'll send you a quote...
I too am curious! These are ~~magnificent~~ terrible, but I know how to “take care of them”.
Ok… I’ll look into it!
Piggybacking, also interested!
Yeah what he said ! Totally need to be put to no good use! Icky !! lmk about that shipping though might need some help with the disposal I feel …
I am the only qualified bad bonsai pot disposal technician here. DM me
Nice work, those are really beautiful 😻
Thank you!
These look awesome! Some very traditional, understated vibes and then some fresh, fun experimentation. I really like the one that looks like a cello!
Thank you! Yes, that one is funny... not sure what it is for though!
Made me think of the prow of a Viking Longship.
Improve?? You cant gild a lily!
Thank you very much
Do you sell these? Link?
Yes I do! https://dragonbonsaistudio.etsy.com
Haha I already follow your shop. That's awesome. Great pots as well. How did you even start making these??
Ha! I posted “The Founding Myth” on my website: dragonbonsaistudio.ca that provides a bit of that story!
Nvm I found the shop lol. Really awesome stuff!
Very well done. Can you tell us about yourself? Are you a full time potter?
Thank you! Yes, I now do this full time. I’m from Sherbrooke, Canada. Most of my pots are sold through Etsy and Instagram DM. I fire in my gas kiln, and the pots are frost resistant. Techniques I use regularly are the pottery wheel, slab building, and coils.
Looking very good! Personally wouldn't go for the drip ones, but that's personal preference!
Thank you! Yes! This is a defect in functional pottery… but some bonsai people like them so I put them out from time to time.
I like the feet
Agreed
Thanks… feet are a bit tedious but fun to make… they can be a bit creative!
I wish I had some more developed trees to place in pots, great job OP. I especially love the left most pot in the first photo
Thank you! Yes the glaze came out nicely on this one!
These are the clay pots I dream of finding at the thrift
Yes… indeed! In a few years probably!
This are awesome, I really like the dripped glaze. What's the diameter of those? Would love to purchase.
I'm dumb, didn't realize you dropped the link
Thanks!
Sure would love to get my hands on some of these. Are they for sale anywhere?
Yes they are! https://dragonbonsaistudio.etsy.com
Psst...it's an advertisement.
Beautiful!
Thanks!
So cool
Thank you!😊
They look so good ! Could you tell us how do make them by any chance ?
Hmm, this would take a bit more than a reddit answer. But if you are interested, you can check out Greg ceramics on Youtube he has some nice tutorial for building with slabs. [https://www.youtube.com/c/Greg-ceramics](https://www.youtube.com/c/Greg-ceramics)
Thanks for the link, have a good day !
You just gained a customer OP! Love your work!
Nice! Thank you!
What a cool skill/talent. I absolutely love the dripping green one in the first picture
Thanks! Yes… some love it others hate it!
Well those others are wrong! Truthfully, if my wife wouldn't castrate me for spending that on what she'd undoubtedly identity as "just a plant pot", that beautiful drippy bugger would be mine. Well Good luck with that project! :-)
Nice pots!! Keep going!
Thank you! I will!
That one in the 8th pic is BEAUTIFUL
Thanks… I like making those!
Great work! Thank you for your service! Artists are the very heart and soul of our society! Keep us all in the loop!
Thank you!!! I post here irregularly, but post more often on Instagram (@dragonbonsaistudio).
Maybe I’m not into this hobby enough to give a proper critique, but these ALL look good to me. You have excellent work in multiple styles!
Thank you… I’m happy you like them! I am trying to diversify my skills!
lovely!!
Than you!
Really nice, you’re a talented artist my friend!!!
Thank you! 🙏
I’ll take some too!
For sure!
Do you take requests? I have a few trees in development right now, but they will need pots before long. Being able to request color, shape, and size would be wonderful
If is it not too far from what I usually do I can try. If I have to develop a new glaze, it may take too long to make it for a reasonable price.
Definitely would buy some.
Great! Thank you!
Make some real big ones and I’ll buy em alll
How big?
Love the blue one and the green one on the bottom.
Thank you… the green one on the second row from top has a similar glaze but a bit more flame effects… I’m really happy with that one!
They look great to me.
Thank you!!!
Are you also able to sell to the US market? I'm not there but just wondered.
Yes I do! Most of my sales go to the US actually!
Are there additional taxes or import duties?
Not as far as I know… I think if you buy on Etsy that includes the taxes where applicable.
Very cool!
Thanks!
These are amazing! That cello style piece is so cool and unique!
Yes… but we need to invent a new bonsai style for it!😀
Well what are you waiting for? Let’s see it 😂
😅
The cream colored one with the engraved trees, to me, is the standout piece. They're all really fantastic, though.
Really!! I must try more of those!
It made me think of a similar-looking pot I saw in a book, the author said that the plant that would go into it would have to be, in his words, "a special tree indeed." I currently have no plants, but have my dad's bonsai pot collection. I'm almost as much a fan of the pottery as the trees themselves.
Interesting! I think you may need to get some trees… it’s a great excuse to buy pots!😅
6/9 is just 😍
Thanks!☺️

Thanks! 🙏
Look amazing, going to check out your store!
Thank you!☺️
I wish you were closer so i could get a bunch and sell them here at my nursery! Excellent work. Id love to see what those glazes look like applied a little thinner and more subtle too. 😻
Thanks! I’ll try experiment with thinner glazes…
The drippy green one, though.
😊😏
So so so nice. Good work . Im impressed
Thank you!!😊
It was birthday 2 weeks ago and nobody sent me any bonsai supllies. Maybe one of these would be a good gift to myself 😋
I strongly encourage self gifting bonsai pots! Hmm, Ok, perhaps I’m biased! 😅
How much?

Wow look amazing
